Great environment, nice rooms with sea views and very good food. Staff are friendly, professional and helpful.

Some inflexibility around food. On Sunday we wanted a light snack for lunch as we were eating out in the evening. This wasn't possible - full Sunday lunch or nothing! So we went out somewhere else. That doesn't seem right in a hotel at this level.

The location of the hotel was superb and we had a wonderful view of the beach from our room. There was plenty of storage space for our clothes too. Breakfast was excellent with a very good choice and we could choose where we wanted to sit each day. The friendliness and knowledge of the staff was very good and nothing was too much trouble for them. We felt very comfortable in the hotel which had a calm atmosphere. On arrival we were given leaflets and maps relevant to our stay which was greatly appreciated.

Although the position of our room was good, it could be noisy from the pub when people were sitting outside on a small veranda. It wouldn't put us off returning to the hotel and we liked our room very much, but it is something to consider.

The location was amazing, right on the beach and beautiful views every morning, whilst falling asleep to the sound of the sea. Breakfast was included. I never have a cooked breakfast when I go away, but breakfasts at this hotel were not to be missed. All the satff were so friendly and helpful and gave great advice and suggestions from what to eat to what to do to what to drink. It was a really special few days for us. Ps perfect touches of the milk and water top up every day in our room.

The only thing that I can possibly think of is to have a coffee machine in the room, and also many hotels now have a charging USB point - but honestly there is nothing I would have changed for our stay.

First time at the Braye Hotel, lovely location, food was very good, except the 12% added tax on to bill when you are staying in the hotel, staff all very nice especially Maria in the restaurant, great asset to the hotel,

Bedroom no. 15 was allocated to us, room was ok, but it was a sweat box as could not open the window! and no fan supplied, when we asked at reception for one were told all rooms had them but ours didnt and we did not get one so for 2 nights we did not sleep!! Lady on reception told us they were fully booked so no spare fan for us!!!! Poor service for a top rated hotel have stayed in other more reasonable places in alderney over the last 6 years and have always had a fan in the room.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, right on the beach. The staff are always excellent and could not be more friendly and helpful. Every one of the team try to make the stay enjoyable.Breakfast is always good with a wide choice, quality ingredients and well cooked. The rooms are nice. They are quite large, very comfortable and have good shower and bath facilities. All areas are very clean.

The bar area was closing in the evening after about 8.30pm. We like to eat out and then come back to a drink in the lounge but on at least 2 days this was not possible. We understand March is not a busy time but as a 4 star hotel charging a significant amount this seems pretty poor.

We were welcomed like old friends and it just got better and better. The location is even more beautiful than it looks in the pictures with the ever changing sea and sky over the white sand beach. The staff couldn’t do enough for you. Marie, Elias, Helen - you’re amazing. The room was pretty and comfortable and kept immaculately clean by the bedroom team. Breakfast was perfect. I just wish we could have stayed longer!

I would love to have been able to open the window more in our room to hear the waves even better but it’s a small thing in the context of all else being perfect.

This is by far one of the best establishments I have ever stayed in across the world. It should be a 5 star hotel. The friendly staff cannot enough for you, nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are superbly clean and cozy, the food is amazing and the little touches make it great. While we were at breakfast they opened the windows and freshened the room. In the evening they turn down the bed and bring fresh water and put glasses by your bed. These touches and the friendly staff make it beyond excellent. Could not recommend enough.

If I had one negative thing to say. It would be the 12% service charge added to meals and drinks. If you eat a meal and then have a drink in the bar and add that to your meal bill it is added with a service charge, which seems a little unreasonable. Fully understand this charge if you are not a hotel guest, but if you are, to me it makes more sense to add it into the cost of staying in the first place, or adjust the food prices. Otherwise it just looks like a hidden cost. Appreciate this is discretionary, but the cost didn’t concern me. Just the way it was charged.

We had a wonderful stay in a cozy room with a spectacular view. The traditional English breakfasts were delicious and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, we had to leave our room one day earlier than planned due to a change in the crossing schedule to Cherbourg, which was affected by weather forecasts.

Nice freshly cooked breakfast with attentive, friendly, helpful staff. Lovely comfy bed with cracking views through the windows and from the cozy balcony. Hotel was nice and quiet overall with the attached Divers Inn pub well worth the odd visit or two, or three, or..........

Bathroom was looking a tad worn around the edges.

Amazing location, literally on the beach, we fell asleep to the sound of the sea. Breakfast on the beachside balcony was fantastic and so much choice. Nothing was too much trouble to arrange for the friendly and super-helpful staff. We were reassured that the kitchen is nut-free which was important for us. Lovely room, just big enough as a family room, would be perfect for a couple. Juliet balcony above the beach. Honestly this was perfect, the nicest hotel we’ve ever stayed in!
