Le Friquet is a very pleasant hotel that exceeds it's three star grading. Rooms are very clean (although not particularly characterful) and there is no lift. Garden is extensive and the pool tranquil, and the perfect temperature. However, it is the restaurant that sets it apart; Clearly a 'destination' place for non-residents for big occasions and we could see why! Food was exceptional, particularly the fish options. Even as a resident I suggest you book as some options regularly sell out.

Bit of a wait for service in the evenings when a big party was in.

Nothing was too much trouble. After observing our mobility difficulties they offered us a room on the ground floor when it became available. Food was superb. Service was efficient but friendly and personal. We felt like we had stayed with family and will genuinely miss them all!

We rested in our room quite a lot and during the day there was a fair bit of noise from the grounds staff preparing for the Easter onwards hospitality season. Pressure-washing pool and patio areas using a noisy compressor and mowing the lawns with a petrol mower became a bit tedious after a while, but their standards are high, so it benefits future guests.... The pool was crystal clear and the surrounds very clean. The patio furniture was all set out beautifully.

The staff in both the hotel & restaurant were 1st class. Good teamwork ensured everything ran smoothly and nothing was too much trouble. And all delivered with a smile

But, the email & communications need reviewing. I received 14 emails during a 3 night stay, each getting longer as the new message was appended to the previous one which became a bit confusing.. I was unable to leave a review for the Lobster & Grill restaurant as this can only be done if a table is booked via email or phone. On the 2 evenings we ate in the restaurant our table was booked by hotel reception and I was unable to respond. So, feedback here, food (breakfast & evening meal) was excellent & well presented and the staff were brilliant.

The hotel is set in picturesque and beautifully maintained grounds with extensive lawns, specimen trees and shrubs and numerous hanging baskets. There is an outside pool in the grounds, excellent patio with rattan seating and umbrellas, lovely atmosphere. The room was excellent with top class facilities and lovely linen. The breakfast was an excellent hot and cold buffet with lovely food. The dining experience was fabulous, reinforced by the use by locals and high occupancy. This hotel was fantastic, but the real ace was the staff; every one friendly, helpful, eager to help and clearly proud of their hotel.

We enjoyed the lovely grounds. Although, because of the shortness of our first visit to Guernsey we didn't manage to swim or fully use the restaurant, we checked out the pool and surrounds. Water was warm. Loungers were comfortable. Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent. Very good range and quality and the staff were very attentive. Some of the food we observed while passing by and other residents, in conversation, were very impressed Our economy room was comfortable, especially the bed and the en-suite bathroom with walk in shower (as requested) was virtually brand new.

All of the staff were amazing, very polite cheerful and very helpful. The food at dinner was very good, the breakfast not so good, poor choice of fruit and cooked breakfast disappointing. Staff very helpful when asked for a room change as didn't realise there was no lift and climbing two flights of narrow stairs was very difficult with mobilty problems, ground floor room found after 2 days.

The buffet breakfast. Also needing to carry own teapots milk jug and cup and saucer to table. Providing trays would have been helpful.

The staff were friendly and worked hard to provide a consistent experience for guests - for example, making sure that we had the same table every morning for breakfast and for dinner. The beds were very comfortable and my mother loved the duvet.

The air conditioner didn't work particularly well. It kept turning off (in a way unrelated to the set temperature). It is hard to walk from the location as there is a non-sidewalk pedestrian way next to a busy road for about 50 yards. This made getting to the bus or just walking in the evening less enjoyable.

All staff were very helpful and food was of a high standard. Our room was kept spotlessly clean. Gardens were immaculately maintained.

Unfortunately the bass tone from the sound system in the restaurant/ bar reverberated into our bedroom most evenings until about 23.00 hrs. We stayed for 7 nights and more wardrobe space would have been helpful. Perhaps consider replacing the small free standing wardrobe with a wider, taller fitted wardrobe in the same alcove.

the food was very good. a good choice of breakfast Dinners were excellent with good choice on their A la carte menu the staff were very helpful and attentive my room was excellent a very comfortable bed and although one of their small double rooms it was still spacious with plenty of drawer and hanging space and cleaned every day beautifully and the housekeeping staff were very obliging. Garden beautiful and well maintained. We will be back.

There wasn't snything I really didn't like but could have done with an extra easy chair in the room (only had one for the dresing table which although comfortasble was a bit upright for me) also could have done with a grab rail in the shower

The breakfast was good, with a really wide choice, and it was all included in the room booking regardless of whether you had continental or full English breakfast. The evening meals in the hotel restaurant were superb. Excellent menu and delicious food. The staff were all lovely. Helpful and pleasant, and they all had a good report with each other.

There wasn't really anywhere outside of the hotel that you could walk to in the evening.
