Beautiful setting - we stayed in a ‘Treehouse’ which was a good size and in a secluded part of the property. The staff were outstanding - Cristina and Rodlan two of the very best, but in truth all of the team were friendly and made us feel very well looked after. I think you would be hard pushed to find better service anywhere else on the island. And as for the breakfasts…
A couple of issues with the room - a bit dark due to the trees (expected) and the subdued lighting - one bright overhead light would be a useful addition. The bathroom was good but the shower regularly overspilled. It was inspected but there was a simple issue of a gradient from the shower into the basin area. However these did not detract from our overall impression of the hotel.

We loved the location, being able to walk down to the cove and the beautiful beach cafe. The staff were amazing, so professional but super friendly and nothing was too much for them. Breakfast was fantastic and excellent service from the staff. The room was beautiful and kept clean and stocked. The shuttle into town is also superb and we made good use of it.
We were disappointed the bar wasn't open more, a few evenings we just wanted to sit in there but it was closed and we didn't want to be in the small restaurant bar. The restaurant also wasn't open every day and we really didn't want to have to travel into town to eat on the evenings.

A friend and I recently stayed at the Fermain Valley Hotel in Guernsey and were very pleased by the service provided, especially by Ms. Milkah. Not only did she surprise us with an upgraded beautiful room, but was friendly and helpful throughout with thoughtful suggestions on how we could make the most of our short trip ( sightseeing, restaurants, bus information!) While the spa at the hotel was un-operational and we were booked for treatments at their sister hotel, St Pierre Park , she phoned ahead and let them know so we could avail the other spa facilities there. We found she went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable and happy. The rest of the staff were very friendly too. Although brief, we really Enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend a visit. Thanks Milkah for taking such good care of us! From Namrata & Chitra
The non availability of spa treatment at hotel could have been specified on booking.com or the hotel website.

Great location, the restaurant meals were very good, including first class breakfasts. Staff were excellent, always happy to help and smiling.
Not so much what I didn’t like, more what would make it better (excellent). It’s an older hotel, to equip it fully with Air Conditioning for just a few days per year might be unreasonable, however, our room (38) was very uncomfortable during the recent very warm spell and it was difficult to cool down. Even when temperatures outside dropped to 21/22C for a couple of days. Provision of a mini fridge for cool drinks storage and ice should be a priority. Also make it easier to manipulate the blinds and windows to allow cooler air in.

The facilities at the hotel were very good. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was extremely well appointed and clean and the view we had from the balcony was amazing and very memorable. The food at the two main restaurants was good and the breakfasts were excellent with lots of choice of fresh fruit, cereal, cooked options etc. We used the swimming pool on a number of occasions and the beautiful bay and cafe at the bottom of the hill were an added attraction. It was a shame that the gardens leading from the hotel to the beach were closed during our stay. The champagne chocolates and card left in the room were also a nice touch to mark my birthday. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for our five night stay. We would certainly like to visit Guernsey and stay at the hotel again.

Location Tree houses (cabins) so quiet Staff lovely in the Hotel
Only a little gripe! At 10pm on the Friday night we went to the bar for a drink, it was closed. We were told to go to Buho their other restaurant up the path which we did but it was pretty much empty and the staff were busy cleaning, they walked past us 3 or 4 times waiting at the bar and I tried to get their attention, but we gave up in the end. We were told the hotel was fully booked, so were surprised that the bar wasn't manned. Also the pathway lighting to the tree houses weren't switched on and the wooden outdoor of the tree houses was very dirty and needs some tidying and painting. I know this might sound picky, but it is a 4 star hotel.

The staff actually made the whole experience. The girls on reception are incredible and go above and beyond, as is Daniel the shuttle driver. So helpful and caring. Waiting staff in restaurants were kind and attentive. The housekeeping team work tirelessly and are so thorough. Everyone was so thoughtful. The rooms are airy, comfortable with everything you could need.
Limited choice left to order from the Ocean restaurant even though table was booked early on day of arrival. Drinks also limited. But minor detail.

The staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble, had a lovely meal at the rock restaurant although a bit expensive you definitely get what you pay for, the food was excellent and the staff were very accommodating, room was clean and bed was made daily. Loved the communication from the hotel, had email to get and give information about our stay, then a call a couple of days before our stay to check everything was ok and if need a taxi or directions to the hotel. Such a nice touch and much appreciated. We was surprised when we arrived that we was upgraded to a lovely room with views as it was our anniversary and in the room was a bottle of wine and card to wish us a happy anniversary, was such a pleasant surprise.
If you have to be negative then I would say it would be the plugs, no USB ports and we only had one plug that could be used inside of the cupboard were the kettle was plugged in, You are on the flight path so could get noisy at times but luckily at night no flights so sleep was peaceful.

We had a wonderful time staying at Fermain Valley. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and made it a pleasure to use the bar, restaurants and tea room. The hotel is ideal for setting off on coastal walks and the bus stop is conveniently located 300 yards from the hotel. We would definitely use again and recommend the hotel to friends and family.
The pavement isn't very wide where you have to wait for the bus. Traffic passes quite close to you and there is nowhere to shelter if it's raining. However, the hotel does offer use of it's own shuttle service if you need to go into the main town.

All food, breakfast and dinner at the different restaurants was exceptional with plenty of choice. The room was larger than expected, hot water good, very comfy bed, staff were exceptional, always polite and smiley and nothing was too much trouble. Location has amazing views and facilities were superb.
Porterage of luggage up to the Upper Garden rooms would be helpful - the path is steep especially after a long journey. Air con in rooms would be nice in the summer.
