Comfort Inn and Suites Ames near ISU Campus

We were able to check in late and enjoyed a very nice welcome from the night clerk who by the way had to help another client right before us who was sent to our hotel by a different hotel because they had no rooms. Unfortunately neither did ours. But Lisa made a phone call and was able to send the client to another hotel with a room for her. I’m sure that person was very appreciative of her as well. The night clerk, I believe her name was Lisa, was very pleasant and even gave us water and snacks as she quickly checked u last in so we could get to our room. We enjoyed the comfy beds after a long day of dirt track race watching and the shower felt awesome. Saturday, game day, we were up early and ready to go back to Boone where Supernational races were being held. We grabbed a few items from the lovely breakfast on the way out the door. Turns out we had to leave the parking lot going the opposite direction as the football fans who had already formed a very long line to Jack Trice Stadium. Turns out our friendly night clerk Lisa was there to help. She went out of her way to hold up traffic for us to get out of the parking lot. She was awesome and we very much appreciated her. Thank you for a lovely stay, Comfort Inn and Suites in Ames. We will stay there again.

Quite a few noisy football fans but is expected for a busy football weekend. The price was quite steep also of course due to the football game. It’s too bad that we had to pay so much when we weren’t even there for the game.

Newer property, firm beds, spacious room and bathroom. Staff always ready to assist with any issue or question. Breakfast area staff very active cleaning & keeping items stocked. Breakfast available EVERY day at 6 am is wonderful as many hotels open it later on weekends. I needed an early breakfast for my event on Sat/Sun.

Not able to enter outside doors with key card. Safety lock on room could shut me out if I shut the door (#228) firmly. A TV channel guide would be helpful.

The location of the hotel was great. Allowing dogs was the main reason I stayed at this hotel as I was up in Ames to attend the ISU pet hospital. The rooms were nice and clean. The beds were comfortable. The price was reasonable for the time frame of my stay. The complimentary breakfast was always tasty with plenty of choices. Biscuits, gravy, sausage, eggs, toast, waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, and all sorts of other great food. A great amenity.

Really not much to say. As a 3 star "budget" hotel, it was very comfortable and clean.

Location was excellent for our visit to ISU

I asked for an extended late check out due to wanting a shower after football camp. It was discussed and agreed we would be done and out by 1 pm. However when we returned at 1240pm our key was no longer valid. The SAME CLERK I had discussed it with told me housekeeping had cleared it and was gone for the day. The cart was still in the hallway 3 rooms down. I’ll draw my own conclusions. I know it was a big ask. If you can’t accommodate then just say so. It would have changed plans and we could have stayed at the campus longer.

Good location, near the campus! Good walking area! Quiet and very comfortable! Clean! Enjoyed our stay!

I liked that it was near the Iowa State University however it’s much closer to the stadium which wasn’t what we really required. The hotel room was nice and spacious and staff was super helpful and friendly!

The pool was smaller than average size and not as deep. The coffee maker wasn’t working properly.

It’s very hard to rate this fairly, because we came in late 9:30 pm. So we basically checked in and went to bed. The room looked good with 2 queen beds. We basically got up had breakfast, got ready and checked out.

Only issue, was i didn’t set the heating to automatic- so the unit turned on and off every few minutes.

Room was very comfortable and clean. Bathroom lacked grab bars and toilet was very low for an old person. Found that to be the case throughout Iowa, especially in public restrooms. Would stay at this hotel in the future.

Had to leave at 5 am. to beat a winter storm. Made for a short night in a warm bed. Did not get breakfast because of early departure, but made it home without seeing a snowflake.

Beds were comfortable. Front desk staff was very friendly.

Rooms need more focus on cleaning. Our first room was pretty good except you could see fingerprints and spots everywhere. Hair was in the sheets and shower. Second room had spider webs and spiders all over. We had to go to the front desk to get a broom to clean them up. Hair was again in sheets and our door wouldn’t lock. You tell tell that the mirror and lights hadn’t been wiped down.
