I highly recommend this hotel. The location is excellent: easy walks to all major (local) amenities, near subway stations and easy to hail cabs. The room was 'as advertised' and commensurate with the price for this location. Bathroom had all toiletries required and great water pressure in the shower. Wifi good. Bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in, including my own bed! Outside smoking area easy to access and well maintained. Amazing staff: very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

TV didn't work so well, but I barely needed to watch it, so a very minor issue.

The location of this hotel is perfect for seeing NYC. The subway station is a very short distance and the subway is a fabulous way to travel. The decor is funky

the property is much better maintained than when we stayed there about 4 years ago

with very little effort the outside back patio area could be wonderful - busted pots, untrimmed shrubs, unkept ivy currently around patio area

The location of the Chelsea Pines Inn was perfect for our trip. This seems to be a "quieter" part of the city, less hustle and bustle than others parts of the city we visited. There is a subway station on the corner which makes it extremely easy to get around. Directly across the street is Bean Gourmet Coffee, and we visited it several times. The sandwiches are fabulous and the people that work there are so nice. Right around the corner is the Chelsea Market. A place that everyone should visit for sure!!

The rooms were extremely stuffy/hot. We learned that with old buildings that have radiators, the remedy is to open the window. No fault of the hotel, just had to learn how to offset the heat by cracking the window. Once we got that straightened out, it was much more comfortable in our room.

Excellent location on A, C, and E subway lines (if you choose to travel from the airport by metro, you get out just 50 meters from the hotel door). Within walking distance from Empire State Building and Time Square (30 min.), One WTC (40 min.), High Line (1 block). Room small but comfortable and very well equipped (coffee set, safe, hair dryer, TV, AC, toiletries, etc.) Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Basic breakfast included in price. Nice style and pleasant atmosphere.

AC too loud and close to bed, had to turn it off for the night.

Chelsea Pines Inn is the perfect place if you want to experience the true vibes of NYC. Chelsea is one of the best borough to stay, full of nice bars for the evening and things to do. You can easily reach Chelsea Market and High Line in two minutes. Plus, the subway is literally half a minute walk from the hotel. Rooms are bigger than the standard for New York and the mattress is really comfortable. If we’ll visit New York again, we’ll definitely come here!

The only flaw I could find is the lack of an elevator, if you’re located on the last floors is not optimal. But the guys at the reception are very helpful and will help you carry your luggage if you need.

Fantastic little oasis in the middle of the city! Can't fault it. Top location, room super big though small bathroom (double room with extra bed can easily sleep 4 or a family), they have a nice kitchen with water and snacks which was a nice surprise, breakfast was also much better than I expected for an American mid-range hotel. It was also surprisingly noise-free for manhattan. Really nice and family-like staff!

Some things don't work so well like the magnetic unlock of the door took me 5 tried to open door, and couldn't make AC work and was too lazy to ask staff, but all of that is workable.

We've stayed in a variety of hotels in New York, and this was easily one of our favourites and one we'll return to. Fantastic location, comfortable bed, great sized room, and very quiet and peaceful. Also, loved the theming and decor! Perfect stay for us, and we'll be returning next time we're in town.

There's nothing I'd raise here -- the hotel was excellent and exceeded our expectations. We have stayed in a variety of places around the city over many years and this is currently our favourite and where we'll book next time we return.

The hotel is very well ubicated near a subway station that conects to JFK airport (through AirTrain) and the main turists spots. Our room was very spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. They offer a basic breakfast (cereal, bread, te, coffee) but it was delicious and was enough to start the day. They offer lugagge storage after check out.

We missed an electric pot to make tea in the room and slippers to walk around the room. The light switch was located at the entrance of the room so it was bothersome at night. These things didn't impact our overall stay, but they can be improved. What did bother us was that the room was located in the first floor next to the dinning area, so in the morning there was lot of noise (but it usually started at 8, so it wasn't that bad)

Amazing location and great value. Very close walk to our concert venue, the High Line and Little Island. Tons of restaurants in walking distance. No elevator but that was clearly stated at booking so I didn't mind and since they were not full the staff gave us 2nd floor.

The room was quite narrow but normal for NYC. The little room that held the toilet was so small I couldn't tolerate closing the door all the way, it was almost touching my knees.
