Comfort Inn Santa Cruz

The room was very comfortable and spacious the staff was gracious and very accommodating!

Our bathroom had a motion sensor light that was very finicky. You couldnt finish your shower without having to stop and reactivate it. Also even after we closed the door the light would randomly turn on. Not sure what it was about but it was just a minor inconvenience during an otherwise very pleasant stay!

The room was fine for the two of us. Our original plans were for 4 and I think that would have been a little crowded. Breakfast was good and well stocked - yummy waffles, yogurt, cereal, fruit. Would it be possible to offer half and half for tea and coffee? Staff was friendly and helpful. I called to ask about shortening our stay by one night and Amy explained that would be possible in spite of our promotion price. When we arrived, I asked the staff member at the desk who thought that wouldn’t be possible without raising the rate. When I checked out, the wonderful and helpful Amy was at the desk and was able to help us with our request. Thanks so much!

I have trouble sleeping wherever I am but benefit from a heavier blanket. During our recent trip, I found, in the two hotels we stayed, the blankets, though comfortable, weren’t heavy enough for me. Is it possible to provide an extra blanket or two in the room for guests? Frankly, I probably could’ve asked for and received one but didn’t think about that at the time. The parking lot was filled when we arrived back at the hotel after our family wedding. Does that happen often on holiday weekends?

Room was clean and the front desk staff was very nice. The breakfast area was well stocked and clean. The FD staff was very nice and informative. The room was big and comfortable. The toilet was running and loud but other than that, it was great!

Parking spots are tiny and another guest was yelling at us because we parked close to his car- however we were in the lines in a compact car and he was not. Not the hotel's fault. But just a heads up most are compact parking spots. The overnight FD staff member did help regarding the parking.

The free breakfast was great the coffee was good and my kids loved the outdoor swimming pool and my room came with a private patio with a table and 2 chairs it was great.And the staff were great.

Well I didn't like that the bathroom "switch" was a sensor one, while I was taking a shower the light would keep turning off it was frustrating.

Size of the room was great, didn't expect it to be that big. Bathroom had a separate shower which was a great plus. Air conditioner was quiet and worked well. Never had a bathroom with a heater in it so that was a good surprise.

The hot tub didn't really seem to get hot. The mattresses were a little on the soft side but it wasn't terrible. There wasn't body wash in the shower which feels like it's standard at most hotels.

Coming from the UK, my wife commented “I love it. It’s exactly what I pictured for an American motel road trip”. All the staff were friendly and accommodating, the pool area was clean and sunny. The bedroom was a good size and very clean.

Possibly a couple of gluten free options at breakfast.

breakfast was good. We stayed during ironman weekend . Some of your guests were quite rude and took over the entire breakfast room leaving no room for any other guests to move around. a group of 20 men took every table and i was standing on a corner of your bar to eat when i went to get some coffee they took over my space and i had to leave and eat in my room.

hotel staff could have managed the situation better

The room was very clean. They are offering housekeeping service every other day and fresh linens whenever you wish. (We recently stayed at an expensive Marriott property in Denver that was offering linen exchange but NO housekeeping during your stay.) Nice-looking pool, though we didn't get a chance to use it, laundry room (also glad to have, but we didn't end up needing it.) Staff was very pleasant and arranged for us to extend our room an extra day, even though they were filling up for one of the last of the summer weekends. I'd stay here again. They made an effort on the breakfast (hot and cold cereal, apples, bananas, and string cheese sticks), but not a lot they can offer under current state/local COVID regs. They did set up extra tables outside around the property since the breakfast room is currently off-limits.

Not a lot of bars for Internet--just two bars. Useable, but slow. The shower head was a little too low-flow!

The GM was amazing, friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was great. Lots of choices and great quality. We will definitely stay there again.

We wish the pool stayed open later than 9pm. Especially since we are out most of the day and evening touring. The jets on the hot tub were not working. But it was still warm and we used it regardless. Definitely not a reason to not go.

Good price for Santa Cruz. Good breakfast. Pool. Comfy big bed. Nice shower. Tall water bottles fit in sink. Refrigerator and microwave. Spacious room. Ice machine by pool. Good selection for breakfast. Location was good.

A bit far from the beach but not bad. Road entrance is too steep scraping underside of car.
