Pacific Blue Inn

This was our second stay at Pacific Blue Inn. We like it very much! Very comfortable bed, nice and comfortable bedding/pillows. Just enough space, seating, shower room.

Staying in room 101, we were right in the hub of activity. One evening there was a gathering of guests on the patio. That social noise could not be avoided and ended before midnight. The following morning, there was quite a lot of conversation by the staff. Seemingly louder than necessary conversation about laundry being collected etc. Might have been nice to have a little more private time at 8:00 AM 🫤

The room was very nice, the bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. There is excellent coffee in the lobby and fresh-baked cookies. The manager was very helpful and wrote a note explaining what we needed to know about the hotel.

We missed that parking, just down the street in a car dealership parking lot, was $15/night. You could probably park on a nearby street with no problem (no meters, neighborhood pretty safe). There wasn't a fridge or microwave in the room, but we didn't need them. No coffee in the room, but excellent coffee downstairs.

The location was well situated near downtown Santa Cruz and everything was nearby. The room was nice and clean with a large bathroom and plenty of lighting. The coffee machine in the lobby was a nice added bonus.

The parking, which was a short ways down the street had very tight spaces. I was not a fan of having to pay for parking in these spaces and the added fee for parking wasn't mentioned before booking the property.

The location is great, easy walking distance to downtown or the beach/boardwalk. Outside of building and garden/outdoor relaxation areas nice and private. Love that they allowed dogs.

Rooms were small. While communication was good, not having onsite staff was a little strange. It was easy to help ourselves to ice and wine glasses. Looks like they used to serve breakfast and while they left cookies out in the afternoon, bringing food back would improve the feeling of a home away from home. The “fabreze” scent in the lobby was overwhelming and probably unnecessary.

Pacific Blue is a small hotel with comfortable and clean rooms that is centrally located in downtown Santa Cruz. They provide homemade cookies, brownies or muffins in the morning. The staff was friendly but we didn't have to interact too much over the two days that we stayed.

They have one of those automatic espresso, latte, cappuccino, hot chocolate machine that put out very poor drinks. A very minor problem given that there are several excellent coffee shops and restaurants located very nearby! (The automatic machine was free, by the way...)

It was an enjoyable stay. The property is very clean and there are only a few units which made it seem homey. It was quiet the entire time. The location is perfect because it's super close to downtown, walking distance as well as the boardwalk. Once we parked, we didn't have to use our car; we could just walk to everything. In the evening they provided homemade muffins and chocolate cookies which is a nice touch. We will come again to this property on our next visit.

The wi-fi wasn't that good and so the tv reception wasn't the best and it was hard to connect to my computer. The walls are a little thin and so you can hear folks walking if you are on a lower level or some talking which I believe was coming from another room.

The hosts were excellent. We arrived after 5:00 and had trouble with the lockbox. Calvin came right over to help us get our keys. He took time to share information about the area and made sure we could access our room. No in room refrigerator but there is a full size one in the full kitchen that is available for guests to use/share. The property is close to the beach and boardwalk. Free parking within a very short distance on the same side of the street. The property is just one block south of shopping and restaurants. There is a nice patio with a fire pit on the first floor for guests. We would stay at the property again.

Serene color pattern, spacious bathroom, roomy closet, and opportunity to sit outside either right next to our room or in the common patio where there was a fire pit. Very convenient and safe location. We didn't use the parking lot but it was just a couple of buildings over. Friendly front desk staff.

I'll join all the others and beg for a coffee maker in the room. The kitchen had coffee but there wasn't an easy way to make it (had to hold the coffee filter by hand to drip it into a cup...messy and hot). The hotel is on a busy street, so bring ear plugs. The room heater had some glitch (maybe the batteries weren't working well). We struggled to make it work.

The rooms were very clean and maintained. Comfortable. Good location two blocks from downtown and 10 min walk to boardwalk.

We didn't like the fact that there is an additional $15 charge for parking in the lot down the block. If we had bikes on the back of out car I would have been hesitant to leave my car off property. They said Booking.com should have pointed this out on their site. I couldn't find it. Rooms have little amenities, such as, no micro, fridge or coffer maker. Usable kitchen is downstairs which is great but inconvenient if your 3 floors up.

Location, comfortable, clean… easy to park and navigate. Big beautiful jasmine vines waft very pleasing jasmine scent around the property. It was really quiet and peaceful at night.

I could have used access to a fridge/freezer. Noise from street and ppl at the property started very early (7am) and was constant until I checked out (11am) so realized there was no sound proofing.
