Riverside Inn & Suites Santa Cruz

The suit was perfect for a family traveling with children! We were able to have a separate room of our own, but did not have to book a completely separate 2nd hotel room to accommodate 4 kids + 2 adults. It was wonderful! The location was very close to the attractions that we wanted. The staff was wonderful and kind. Very helpful with directions and answers to our questions. The air conditioning was great, and we were very appreciative of the ice machine and kitchenette in our suit.

The parking lot was full and we had some trouble getting in and out, but I do not think that was something the hotel could have changed. We were traveling on a holiday weekend and it was just a particularly busy time.

Staff was friendly and quick to help accommodate any needs. We where allowed to complete our check in process and park our vehicles there before check in time to be able to walk to the boardwalk and upon arrival that night our room keys where already waiting for us. Entire room was spacious and clean with lots of towels provided. Bed's where very comfortable as well. The suite layout and option was great for our family. It's definitely easier to know your entire family is all withing one suite. Will definitely consider stay here again on our next trip.

Parking lot is very small and compact.

Quiet location, clean rooms and daily housekeeping. Between 2 Queen rooms (130 & 131), we had ample space for our group of 5 people and sporting gear. The motel is good value, given that each bed area is separated by the bathroom and doors.

Both times we have stayed here, there has been a bombed-out car in the parking lot. The tires and windows are gone; it looks awful. Presumably a longtime guest is using it as a storage locker. Sadly, it makes the place look crummy when obviously the motel owners are putting effort into overall cleanliness of the common areas and rooms.

Room is very clean and equipped with a microwave, a mini-fridge and a coffee maker. Bathroom is updated and also provide shower cap, hair dryer, and lotion pack. Basically the room provide everything we needed. The location is good, 10 mins walk to boardwalk beach.

We booked the budget queen room online and when we got there we found out the room is by the busy street and is very noisy. The staff told us the budget room is facing the street and it's listed on the description of the room (which is not on booking.com website when I booked the room), we had to pay $10 more to upgrade to a room that is inside the courtyard, that was not expected. And the room is pretty small.

Friendly check in. Room was perfect for our family - We rented the three queen suite. There was two queens in the main room and one separate queen with a door to close. Kitchenette was clean and stocked with a refrigerator, a stove top ( no oven), a microwave, a table and chairs and a Keurig coffee maker with coffee pods. The bathroom had plenty of towels and sundries, the beds were comfortable enough And they thoughtfully supplied ear plugs by each bed because of the elevated noise due to the proximity to the boardwalk. The room was reasonably clean. Everything was in good repair and functional, unlike many spots close to the boardwalk.

There wasn't much to dislike as long as you keep perspective as to where you are staying. Affordable motels in proximity to the boardwalk are well used, typically on the older side as far as furnishings and decor.

charge 25 cents to get ice! most bulbs in bathroom burnt out. parking place in front of door should be for that room.

Staff were very friendly. Room was clean. Bed was clean. Great value loved the kitchenette, we brought anything and everything we needed to cook. The water got very hot quickly. Guests were courteous and friendly.

The carpet in the room was so sticky not as surprising for a budget stay. The rooms had a hint of urine smell. The kitchenette lacked any dishes or supplies only had one dish towel. Ice machine takes quarters to use.

Riverside Inn was great. Walking distance to the boardwalk and Just about anywhere we wanted to go! The man in the office was super Nice and Friendly and was happy to answer any and all our questions. If/when we visit agin we will most likely stay here agin. There is a basketball court and a skate park just across the street would have been perfect if our boy’s came with us. Definitely a Nice place to stay for a cheaper price with everything being so much in Santa Cruz.

There was Nothing I didn’t like! The room was perfect for my husband and I!

The rooms were reasonably clean. Everything was in good repair and functional. I liked two separate bedrooms with a bathroom in between. The hotel is well located within walking distance of the boardwalk and just about anywhere you would like to go (also very close to downtown). It is a beautiful place to stay for a reasonable price.

Just thing that was uncomfortable for my family was the noisy toilet at the time of the flush (but no big deal).

It was clean and big restroom!

It had a lot of druggie and homeless people hanging out at night and homeless people sleeping outside in their cars making a lot of noise but the rooms were good the stay would have been great if that didn’t happen
