ANdAZ San Diego, A Concept by Hyatt: Rated five stars. A six story contemporary urban hotel with 159 rooms in the heart of the action. Hotel amenities include an in-room safe, a rooftop restaurant with room service plus a bar, outdoor pool/health club, paid onsite parking. The building originated as the Maryland Hotel in 1914. Valet and paid self-parking are both available.
Hard Rock Hotel San Diego: Rated four stars. This 12-story hotel features 420 contemporary rooms with an in-room safe, mini-bar, microwave, refrigerator, and whirlpool. Hotel amenities include three restaurants, room service, plus a bar. Relax at the outdoor pool and hot tub or work out in the health club. The hotel offers paid self-parking and is just three miles from the airport.
Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego: Rated four stars. This massive 1,628 room property is contained within two 40-story towers on San Diego Bay. The location is adjacent to Seaport Village and just a block and a half from the convention center. Room amenities include a mini-bar and refrigerator with downtown or waterfront views. The hotel also features two outdoor pools plus a children’s pool, hot tub, tennis courts, and a health club. The Grand Hyatt offers three onsite restaurants as well as two bars, plus room service if you prefer to dine in your room. Valet and paid self-parking are both offered.
The US Grant - A Luxury Collection Hotel: Rated five stars. This landmark (1910) Edwardian property is named for one of the biggest heroes of the U.S. Civil War. Margaritaville Hotel San Diego - Gaslamp Quarter: Rated four stars. If you are seeking a vibrant, younger vibe while visiting San Diego, this may be the place for you. The hotel features 235 guest rooms in a ten story tower, each of which include a refrigerator and in-room safe. For outdoor activities there’s an outdoor pool hot tub, and bicycle rental available. While the beach is five miles/10-12 minutes away, the resort offers four heated pools, private cabanas, a spa, golf course, and hiking. The hand-stenciled ceilings, hand-painted tiles, and artistically designed interior makes guests feel as if they are in Southern Europe. The 249 rooms in the three-story hotel include a mini-bar and in-room safe. Spectacular dining is the order of the day here, with the Michelin three-star rated Addison and the highly regarded Amaya, serving California cuisine outdoors in a garden setting, being located at the Fairmont. Valet and paid on-site self-parking are offered.
L’Auberge Del Mar Resort & Spa: Rated four stars. With the feel of a European inn by the sea, this luxury property is centrally located in Del Mar, an upscale beachside community 20 minutes north of downtown. The ocean is just two blocks away for viewing nightly spectacular sunsets. The boutique hotel offers 121 rooms on three floors, each with a balcony/terrace, mini-bar, refrigerator, and in-room safe. Hotel amenities include a restaurant (room service is available), coffee shop, and pool bar, two outdoor pools, a hot tub/health spa with massage, and tennis courts. The Lodge at Torrey Pines: Rated five stars. It is incredibly difficult to imagine a more beautiful setting for a hotel and golf course overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Still a privately owned and operated property, this is one of the most impressive resorts on the California coast. With 170 stunning guest rooms in the five story hotel, guests relax in ultimate comfort with a mini-bar and in-room safe in all rooms. Select rooms offer working fireplaces, kitchenettes, microwaves, and refrigerators, but realistically, there are so many amenities throughout The Lodge that no one will feel slighted. On-site activities include an outdoor pool, hot tub, health club with a spa and massages available, and the crème de la crème, the Torrey Pines golf course. As you might expect, reservations for the two restaurants, golf, massages, wellness packages, etc. should be requested well in advance of arrival. Valet and paid self-parking are available.

The Michelin one-star rated Valle presents outstanding contemporary Mexican cuisine tasting menus Tuesday to Saturday evenings. Reservations are a MUST. As for the beachfront hotel, guests are pampered with indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, water sports activities, spa and wellness packages, as well as incredible sunsets that you have to see to believe. The seven floor property features 161 luxurious rooms with a balcony/terrace, mini-bar, refrigerator, and in-room safe. The hotel’s main restaurant serves meals throughout the day and offers room service. Valet and paid on-site self-parking are available.
The Dana on Mission Bay: Rated three stars. This 271 room arc-shaped hotel dates back to 1965 but has been renovated many times over the years. With a superb location just one block from Sea World, the popular property’s guest rooms each includes a balcony/terrace, microwave, and refrigerator to make your stay more comfortable. From its setting on the beach at Sunset Point, guests at The Dana can partake in many on-site activities including swimming, sunbathing, boating/sailing, water skiing, jogging, or relaxing at one of two outdoor pools. You can guess where this property’s name comes from…yes, this renovated and charming inn on Coronado Island is just minutes from downtown and a five minute walk to the beach. With just 17 soundproof rooms and two floors, the 1906 Lodge is a unique escape for your San Diego getaway. The antique exterior, glass windows, and inglenook benches make this an incredibly special place. There’s even a spa tub and beautiful gardens to add to your getaway. This may be a limited services property, but amazing Coronado is just steps away with fabulous dining and shopping opportunities. FREE parking, too.
Beach Village at the Del, LXR Hotels & Resorts. Rated five stars. This is what luxury is all about. Directly on the wide Coronado Island beach, the Beach Village offers a full range of superb amenities that will surely entice you. With just 78 rooms on a single floor, it’s easy to get to the outdoor pool/hot tub, health club/steam room/fitness center, the spa, which is known for its many wellness packages, or to pick up a rental bike for a spin around the island. A full daily breakfast is included with your stay. Choose from three restaurants, a scenic bar, or room service if you prefer. Valet and paid self-parking are available.
Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa: Rated four stars. Three floors, 300 rooms, elegant accommodations, and a complete resort experience are available at this popular Marriott set on 16 coastal acres. Each guest room includes a mini-bar, refrigerator, and safe to store valuables. Resort activities include jogging trails, three outdoor pools, outdoor tennis, a hot tub, health club, spa/massage, and access to bicycle rental. With valet or paid self-parking available, a multi-lingual staff, and concierge services, a stay at this luxury hotel will enhance your visit to San Diego.
Hotel del Coronado, Curio Collection by Hilton. Rated four stars. This 1888 landmark resort directly on the famed Coronado Island beach is the most historic hotel in San Diego. You can’t miss the red-tile conical roof and stunning white façade which emulated the upper crust’s beach lifestyle when it debuted. While it is too large to be considered a boutique property with 718 rooms, the hotel does has a smaller, historic feel to it. The rooms are spread over multiple three-story attached buildings, with each including a balcony or terrace, refrigerator, and in-room safe. Outdoor activities include, of course, the private beach for swimming, strolling, or relaxation. There’s also an outdoor pool, hot tub, and snorkeling equipment to make use of. For those who prefer to hang out at the resort, guest amenities include a hair stylist, children/teen activity programs, a gift shop, dry cleaning services, and room service from the hotel’s two restaurants. Guest may also dine on the outdoor sundeck. Valet and paid self-parking are offered.

Incredible nightlife, and a plethora of incredible restaurants offering every imaginable cuisine. San Diego without a doubt is one of our favorite destinations year-in and year-out.
