Our family just wrapped up a fantastic stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Mill Valley, and for us, it was the perfect home base for exploring San Francisco. The location is ideal, tucked away in a quiet, beautiful area with stunning views of the surrounding hills, yet just a short and scenic drive over the Golden Gate Bridge to the city's main attractions. It's short drive too to the groceries and to Sausalito. Parking is free, which is great. We were thrilled with how spacious and clean our room was; having a comfortable configuration for the three of us, along with a mini-fridge and microwave, made all the difference. The highlight for our daughter was undoubtedly the walk outside, overlooking the bridge, which was a great way to unwind after a long day of sightseeing. Given a chance, we will definitely stay here again.

Breakfast is OK. There are many options though doesn't vary much every day. We stayed here for a week, and the breakfast is almost the same every day. For a hotel that isn't brand new, the wear and tear is starting to show; we noticed stained carpets, scuffed furniture, and a bathroom that could have used a more thorough deep cleaning.

Seems like new. Room is large, clean and comfortable Location good for exploring Marin sights and even back into SF. Some nice outdoor seating and landscaping facing the estuary Heated pool and jacuzzi clean and bright, nice seating around Breakfast a good mix, including hot dishes, waffles, some fruit, yoghurt, in pleasant roomy breakfast room A couple of bikes available for use free of charge - hotel is by a bike path leading in two directions Staff are friendly and helpful Small store on site with snacks, ice cream OK restaurant/pub next door to the hotel for dinner, other places in Mill Valley are close by Overall great stay would stay again

Some rooms face the estuary and mountain (Tam) with great views. Others face the "Bay" - but actually the bay is the other side of a freeway overpass - not quite the same view, so pay extra for the mountain view

Easy to get to as it is just straight off of 101. You also have a choice of the city below you are crossing the bridge and going into San Francisco.

The facility was clean in general, but they need to Shampoo the Carpets. I dropped some water on the carpet and took a white washcloth to clean it up. It was brown gray dirty. And that tells me that , No one are washing the floors or carpets regularly. The facility also did not look like a holiday inn. It made me feel a little uncomfortable 😕

The room was very very clean and in a hotel that is everything to me. Thoughtful and consistent housekeeping Good temperature in the room, access to the outdoors and an extraordinary setting in walking distance to grocery and coffee. Also, The views from the surrounding paths!

I think I would opt for two ceramic mugs or cups instead of only styrofoam cups in the room Also, I did experience some noise disturbance late at night from the room above me. It's something to be aware of while organizing the bookings if possible.

Heated floors, comfy beds and pillows, staff accommodated our family need to have rooms next to each other, nice pool, next to a walking path, available bicycles to use, additional security of exterior door before getting to the rooms, plenty of free parking, nice hot breakfast: pancakes, diff breads to toast, sausage, eggs, tots & cold choices: cereal, yogurt, fruit, and more!

Group of guests above our unit were loudly moving thru the stairwell and in their room after midnight. The shower water was leaking out of the tub even with the curtain closed, causing a potential slip hazard, pancake maker at breakfast kept requiring maintenance to reload and restart

The location was great for what we needed. This was a last minute selection due to another facility canceling our reservations at the last minute. Restaurant/bar next door was nice and convenient.

We had requested two king rooms close together and this is what appeared on the reservation but upon checking in we were as far apart as possible and only one was a king room. Our friends rooms was a double and was not as clean as ours. They experienced what appeared to be blood in their bathroom and non-functioning outlets in the bathroom.

Enjoyed the location on the walking/bike path. The hotel was welcoming of passersby using the walking/bike path and offered free water to those individuals This was a friendly note. The breakfast each day provided much variety. The 24 hour coffee in the lobby was great.

The housekeeping staff was very noisy and chatty during the cleaning of rooms on the hall where I stayed and also when cleaning rooms one floor above. This was distracting when I was working in my room on the computer. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly.

Room was great, love the view of Mt. Tam. The gym was also excellent and clean. I come here 2-3 times per year for personal reasons and this was my longest stay at nearly a week due to a business conference. It continues to be an awesome go-to place for exploring the area or, in this case, attending nearby work functions (Mine was at Green Gulch Farms)

This property really needs to stop allowing people to have their pets in the food service area. One this particular trip, somebody had their large dog right inside where people were serving themselves food, making pancakes and toast, etc. And they were encouraging people to pet it, so dander and hair HAD to be getting into the serving utensils and more. And if you're reading this and you're the kind of person who brings non service animals into restaurants and food service places and then gets mad at hotel staff for enforcing health and safety standards, you really need to take a hard look at yourself and your choices.

We loved the location of the hotel! We walked along the trail so much and were able to get to restaurants and all our needs by foot. It is also so close to Muir Beach and Muir Woods! The room itself was spacious and comfy. My prtner specifically wanted me to shout out the shower temperature and water pressure. He says it's the best shower he's ever had!

The location of the hotel was great for the activities we planned to do. I liked that it wasn't a big hotel because the pool and breakfast area wasn't over crowded.

It cost a lot of money, we had to get 2 joining rooms because we have 5 people in our family. I would like to have a little bigger room to suite 5 to 6 people like other hotels we've stayed at.
