Seaport
Convenient to the Boston Children’s Museum, Museum of Ice Cream, Boston Tea Party ships and museum, Institute of Contemporary Art, Menino Convention & Exhibition Center, Boston Fire Museum, and the congregation area for multiple harbor and fishing cruise companies. Officially named the South Boston Waterfront neighborhood, a multi-year redevelopment has transformed this industrial area into an energetic collection of hotels, restaurants, and housing that is popular with millennials and Gen Z residents. The area is home to the five-story headquarters of Reebok and the Seaport World Trade Center. Hotels to consider include:
Back Bay
Filled with wonderful shopping (Newbury Street) and dining, very walkable, and convenient to Boston Common and the Public Garden, Copley Square Park, Gibson House Museum, Boston Public Central Library, Fenway Park, Prudential Center-View Boston observation deck. Hotels to consider include:
Beacon Hill
This quiet and historic neighborhood offers cozy coffee shops and boutiques, stunning brownstones, and is very walkable despite some hills. It is convenient to the downtown/financial district, Boston Common and the Public Garden, Charles River Esplanade, Boston African American National Historic Site, North Station, Government Center, and TDI Garden, the home of the NBA Boston Celtics and NHL Boston Bruins. Hotels to consider include:
Fenway-Kenmore
A hub of activity for Bostonians, the Fenway-Kemore area is convenient to the Museum of Fine Arts, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Boston University, Northeastern University, and several small colleges. There are a slew of restaurants and sports bars along Landsdowne Street that are favored by students and Boston Red Sox fans before and after home games. The major league baseball team plays 81 home games from April through September, and often into October if the team makes the postseason playoffs. Buy your game tickets early to avoid disappointment as most games sell out at the famous stadium, the oldest in the major leagues. Hotels to consider include:
Boston Common
This is the oldest public park in the U.S., and adjacent to the Public Garden, a beautiful botanical garden loved by Bostonians. The iconic gold-domed Massachusetts State House is directly across the street, and the Freedom Trail originates in the park. Hotels to consider:
Cambridge
Home to Harvard University and MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), Cambridge’s ideal location immediately across the Charles River from Boston is home to numerous large hotels and a wide selection of boutique properties as well.
Logan Airport/Revere/Chelsea
It’s less than five miles from the terminals at Boston Logan International Airport to the downtown financial district, making a stay at an “airport hotel” also very convenient to the city’s top historical sites.
4. Comfort Inn & Suites Logan International Airport

住所: 85 American Legion Highway, Revere, 02151, MA, US

Are There Good Hotel Options Outside of Boston?
Absolutely, yes, but if you are planning to visit the many attractions in the city proper, we do recommend considering Boston, Cambridge, Newton, Revere, and other close-in suburbs. There’s no shortage of hotels along the I-95/Route 128 loop around the city, but you will lose considerable vacation time driving back and forth each day.
In addition to the hotels recommended above, our preferred hotel booking website Travelated, offers an extensive selection of great hotels to fit any budget. If you prefer Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Best Western, or other large chain properties, there are dozens of hotels throughout the region that you will also find competitively priced with Travelated.
But at the risk of being repetitive, we feel that the best way to visit Boston is to stay in Boston. Whether you are flying in or taking Amtrak to North Station, the money that you save by not renting a car or paying for parking will offset much of the potentially higher hotel rates that you will find in town. You will also have access to inexpensive public transportation with the “T” to move about Boston, and ride-share distances will be shorter and cost less.
Getting a Lay of the Land in Boston
One of the wonderful things about Boston is the size of the city. With just 675,000 people residing within the city limits, Boston clearly isn’t a big city. When the greater metro area is considered, there are nearly five million people, making this the tenth largest statistical area by population in the U.S. By comparison, San Francisco has 825,000 residents in the city and 4.6 million in the latest stats, while New York is home to nine million people, and 20 million in the metro area.
Not being particularly large, Boston packs a lot into a limited space. Boston Logan International Airport is a mere five miles from downtown, so even with frequent traffic congestion, the ride into town, no matter which part you have chosen to stay in, isn’t going to cover a lot of distance.
The most popular attractions including museums, sports events, concerts, incredible restaurants, and fascinating historical sites which tell the story of the American Revolution, are mostly in town, too. Lexington and Concord, which are well worth a visit if you’re a history buff, are just 15-20 minutes away by car, with Uber and Lyft being a popular mode of transport here.
If you plan to attend a New England Patriots game while visiting Boston, be aware that Foxborough, Massachusetts is a minimum 45-minute drive away on non-game days and is actually closer to Providence, Rhode Island, than Boston.
History, Museums, and So Much More
Simply put, Boston is a great city which deserves to be on your short list of places to visit. There is something for everyone and then some, so try to spend more just a couple of days here. Winter is the only season that the Freedom Trail, a must-do activity, may not cooperate with ideal weather, but spring, summer, and autumn (think fall foliage), all offer a multitude of outdoor and indoor activities to keep you busy.
So, what are you waiting for? Log onto Travelated and get the planning underway! And be sure to check out the official Boston tourism site, Meet Boston, to learn more about this incredible American city.
