Barceló Imagine

That was my second time there and I enjoyed my stay. The staff is really nice and helpful, the interior design looks amazing all around the hotel, and the room was well equipped and ultra clean. The bed was super big and comfy.

I did not like the type of room we got this time as much as the one we had got before as the space design of this one was a bit weird: the bathroom was literally by the bed which I don't find very comfortable when traveling with someone and the TV was very far from the bed. I think this type of room would be a better fit for single corporate travelers... Also I think Ne--flix or some other platform would be a nice add-on for a 5 stars hotel in 2024.

Lovely spacious room and large comfy bed, with great furnishings and decor. En suite modern and spacious. 3 armchairs in the room! Music theme was lots of fun and done really well. Everything was spotless. The ground floor public areas were lovely, modern, fun music instruments and decor, bar was welcoming for a snack or nightcap. Location was great as we were using Chamartin Station and metro, which is just 5 minutes walk. You can get into the city centre easily from here. There are some nice restaurants 10 min walk away.

Unfortunately, there is building work right next to the hotel, between the hotel and the station. We didn't hear much noise from this, but it was a bit unsightly and meant that our privacy in the room was affected due to builders working on the structure just across the street from our room.

The hotel is right next to the Chamartin train station which is super convenient for us as we take several daily excursion to nearby cities by train. The breakfast offers a lot of variety and the breads in particular are very good. Though, the baked beans were just lukewarm, could have done a bit better here.

My wife finds the pillow a bit too soft for her liking. Though, I had no problem with the pillow. Breakfast starts at 8.00 am over the weekends, we had just a few quick bites on last Sat because we had to travel to another meeting point in Madrid for a guided day tour with a check in time of 8.30 am (it took nearly 20 minutes by car between the hotel and the meeting place). It would be nice if they could start the breakfast at 7.30 am instead. That said, I appreciate this is probably more a business hotel.

Excellent hotel. Staff were nice and friendly. The room was big, very clean and with the details that people over 50s we love and appreciate , such as nice augmenting mirror where you can properly see your face when you are putting up your make up or shaving or .... Very powerful hairdryer that does not go off when you are using it for while :) . The little touch of having some treats (like a small chocolates bag and bottle of water ) . The Hotel trust the clients and as we all know that the hangers are the property of the hotel and are not meant to be taken by guests , so they were REAL hangers . We asked for a late check out and because was Sunday , they were happy to accommodate us for leaving the room at 1 ish instead of 11 , that was real treat, specially when your flight leaves at 21:45 at night ! I really highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed in a room with a deluxe king bed which was very comfortable. We opted to pay for the daily breakfast option and got room service for some of the nights and the food was exceptional. Breakfast options were very good as well. This hotel is 5min from the metro making it very easy to travel where we wanted to go!

There isn't a store for last min needs although we were right a across the street from a pharmacy, however we did have to travel a bit to get chargers for our phones and few other last min things from nearby stores.

Hotel with a nice atmosphere around the theme of "music" (don't worry, it's not noisy). Large bedroom with excellent quality of bed, quiet, curtains close well so can be made dark, very quiet with the windows closed, excellent bathroom. Great and very complete breakfast buffet with muesli, nuts, fresh fruits, real orange juice (from oranges), a 'live cook' making you an omelet (you hardly find that anywhere nowadays).

My room was slightly too warm for a northern European. Opening the window would have been possible but it would have meant city noise and light from outside. The airco was operational, but in spite of putting it on 18 degrees, the room temp would stay at around 21 degrees. The wifi pretends to be 'open', but you have to leave your email address to get access so it's less open than pretended because used for marketing purposes. Regarding breakfast, I would have preferred to simply pay everything at check-out, instead of having to pay breakfast 'on the spot' when entering the breakfast room. Luckily I brought my credit card to breakfast. This also leads to some confusion with guests because they already asked me if I was going to have breakfast at check-in (I confirmed).

- Amazing and beautiful facilities, very comfortable rooms. - Loved the breakfast - Great location, metro and light train stations are just steps away.

- There is no physical menu, they FORCE you to scan QR codes for everything, and there's a catch, they can instantly increase the prices if it's too crowded or if a large group of foreigners arrives. And there will be no evidence of the price increase. - They force you to give and confirm your email to provide you with basic Wifi Internet, with the excuse of supposedly the law requiring that. Then they might use your browsing habits to sell this info to data brokers and send you targeted ads or spam. - Rooftop bar time is very short

Really cool concept that delivers on a cool vibe that, for example, The Social Hub (at which we stayed in April) obviously attempts to deliver but ends up feeling cold and contrived. The thing about Barcelò Imagine is that, though the concept could be written off as gimmicky, the quality of the hotel (because it never forgets that THAT is what it is, unlike the Social Hub) is at a very high level. We had a true king-size bed, with a very luxurious mattress, in a sizable room for the price of a much less exceptional hotel. The conventions front desk doesn't take away from the fresh theme of the hotel but is as it should be, a welcoming introduction. Ignore that the theme is music and you're left with a very nice hotel, a very short walk from Chamartin station, and close to some of the most important business addresses in the city. Embrace the music theme, and you have a fun place to hang, with some innovative touches like being able to have a record player delivered to your room with a selection from their vinyl offerings. (We didn't, but it was tempting... kind of wish the choices featured notable vinyl pressings like Tapestry, Let It Bleed, Bitches Brew, classic Andre Segovia or Juan Serrano).

Only one thing- Expensive breakfast... 20/person/day if added to the full term of your stay, and 25/person on an ad hoc basis... on a business trip per diem, maybe okay, but on vacation (in a country that doesn't usually do that much for early morning meals), a bit dear

6 of us stayed here for a small hen do in Madrid and were blown away from the second we walked in. The decor in the hotel is stunning and all themed around music. There is an interactive keyboard (lights up when pressed) in the foyer along with a piano and a drum set. The staff were outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble and they all worked tirelessly for us, finding us restaurants to book and how to access the tour bus in the city centre (Antonio and another lady who works behind the front desk, we didn’t get her name sorry!) Carlos behind the bar was a star, each night setting up our own little private area for dinner for us and rallying to and fro for many cocktails! Luz was also a lovely lady who said hello to us each day and delivering top service for lunch round the pool. The bedrooms were spotlessly clean, bed was divine with a pillow menu to change pillows due to personal requirements! Complimentary toiletries and bottled water each day. Breakfast each day was delicious. Everything you would want, they had. Omelette bar cooking fresh omelettes, donuts and cakes, fruit, yoghurt, cooked options such as bacon and sausage, toast, fresh honeycomb etc the list is endless. When we returned, Barcelo emailed me thanking us for our stay - ‘from your new home in Madrid.’ This is definitely how we all felt, it certainly is now our Madrid home.

Pool was freezing - but due to poor weather it just hadn’t warmed up!

I loved this hotel!!!! I got a beautiful room with a king-size bed for the price of a queen or full-size. The buffet breakfast was extraordinary. There were many vegan and vegetarian options available. I would definitely like to stay at another Barcelo Imagine Hotel in the future when I am traveling.

Everything was extraordinary. To improve, I suggest that they play more Portuguese music instead of so much American and English music. In addition, the dinner was overpriced--I had pasta with red sauce for about 18 euro and it wasn't that tasty.
