Grand Harbour Hotel

The location overlooking the Grand Harbour amazing view from our room 606 which has its own terrace would definitely book the same room again. There is a terrace on top floor for all to use which was a bonus. The staff were very friendly and our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels. 👍

Just a note this hotel is at the lower level of the city so lots of steep steps to climb to reach restaurants ect' which are mostly along Merchant Street and Republic Street. so if you are not fit probably stay somewhere else but for myself and my daughter the view to the harbour outweighed climbing the steps and it kept us fit. 👍 A small fridge in the room would be an asset we had to cool our drinks in the sink filled with cold water.

Excellent run hotel in a good location, right on the harbour but easy to reach the pubs & restaurants. The breakfast was excellent, a full English! Very helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble, Very generous room size with plenty of cupboards for our bits & pieces. Our room even had a balcony overlooking the harbour. And definitely try the rooftop terrace, great to just grab some drinks from the hotel bar and relax on the terrace looking at the stars.

Depending on the room location, you could be opposite a pizza restaurant - which gets lively on the weekend when they play music (a Friday, in our case). This is not the hotels fault - just remember to take earplugs just in case! Or ask for a room further back.

Good location, close to mainstream Valletta with excellent views of the Harbor. Nice updated room with great a/c which was very much needed. Staff was friendly, always to help or give good advice. It’s a relatively small, intimate hotel in a gorgeous location. Breakfasts included were also good & roof top terrace was nice. If you’re not looking for all the trappings of a large hotel, which I tend to find a little impersonal, this is a great spot. Restaurant next door features a good jazz band on Friday nights and people tend to gather round, sit on the steps and drink wine- quite lovely. Nice bathrooms.

Sensational 2-star hotel. I paid for a sea view room 507 on 5th floor with just stunning views over the harbour to the 3 Cities. Few frills - it's 2-stars - but the frills are spot on: spotless rooms, good, hot shower, new safe, kettle + tea/coffee, decent wifi, ample buffet breakfast which starts at 7am for the early birds like me. My room was quite small, but it -s 2-star as I keep reminding myself! Superb location: 5 minutes from everything: fast ferry terminal, bus station, main street with restaurants.

Bedding - a duvet would have been much comfier. A sheet and quilt tucked tightly under the mattress is very old fashioned, and has to be wrestled loose every night, and not sure the quilt cover is hygenic as I imagine this isn't washed every time?

The room is big, clean and the hotel is near the center. There is a 24 hour reception and a beautiful terrace with an amazing view. I will book again this hotel to my next travel to Malta.

It has not have fridge and it is a disadvantage if you are visiting Malta in summer because you have to spend a lot of many to buy ice water. Morever, the are many steps to walk in order to reach the hotel and it is little bit inconvenient especially when you carry your luggages. Your clothes also do not dry easy because there is not any balacony or an electronic heater in order to dry them.

Great team - especially one of the owners that is there most of the time - I forgot his name, however he is there usually in the mornings and his smile and intention to help is pure delight. Great location and value for money. You are close to everything you need in Valletta and to take the small boats for the rest of the peninsula. I would highly recommend the property and I would def book again and again.

Maybe the breakfast could be just a little bit more interesting. It has the very basics at a very basic quality. Fair enough, given the price that you pay tbh.

The hotel's proximity to Barakka Gardens was a definite highlight, as it provided easy access to this beautiful attraction. The rooftop offered breathtaking views of the city, allowing me to appreciate the scenic surroundings from a different perspective.The receptionists were friendly, welcoming, and provided excellent customer service, which enhanced the overall experience.The room itself had a cozy ambiance, making it a comfortable space to relax and unwind after a day of exploration.

Unfortunately, the breakfast provided by the hotel was quite basic, lacking variety and options that one might expect from a hotel of this caliber.One notable drawback was that the room was not soundproofed adequately, as I could hear noises from the adjacent rooms and hallway, which affected the overall tranquility of my stay.

Excellent central location just 3mins from the City Gate and Parliament building. Great staff, all very welcoming and helpful. Room on top floor was a small extra cost option for a balcony with Grand Harbour view. 100% worth it, we had an enormous balcony about 4x4metres plus table/chairs/recliners with a fantastic view of the Grand Harbour, fortresses, boats and all. Room was good and clean, bed comfy. Breakfast was fine with a cooked buffet as well as the usual cereals, pastries, meats and cheeses.

Breakfast pastries could have been a bit more varied. A little noise outside at night due to the city centre aircon units, etc. nearby

Fantastic location overlooking Grand Harbour and close to lively restaurant/cafe nightlife and other attractions. The room was very clean, modern, well appointed with good silent aircon and marvellous view of the harbour with ships arriving/departing and firework displays at night and in the morning! Very good English/Continental breakfast.

Only criticism (which could be easily rectified) was the lack of information in the lobby (or room) about local attractions, dining out etc. The receptionist was not very helpful in providing such information either.

I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Grand Harbour Hotel. My room has a breathtaking view of the Grand Harbour, which has been at the crossroads of European and Arabic civilisations for centuries. The hotel has been refurbished recently and deserves its 4 star rating. Substantial breakfast with several options available.

Wi-Fi/Internet access from the room was poor and sometime impossible (much better in the foyer), and so this was irritating when I need to work and access emails and the internet. Lunch and dinner are not served but there are plenty of restaurants nearby, and the staff were very helpful in advising on options.
