Palazzo Violetta Boutique Hotel

The hotel is located in a peaceful street without much traffic. The room was quite comfortable and clean, and the hotel staff were quite helpful.

Great location in a fairly quiet residential area but only a short walk to the Ferry and Sliema front. Staff were very attentive and polite and we felt the customer service was excellent. The room was comfortable and generally quiet. We enjoyed drinking prosecco at night near the pool and playing Scrabble! We also enjoyed trips into Valetta on the ferry, trips around the island via BOLT (a must download App) and relaxing by the pool. The Maltese people are warm and welcoming. Must visit Carolina's tea room and enjoy a Sundae or Queen Elizabeth afternoon tea!

I think one of the adjoining properties may be an AIR BnB so there was sometimes noise from this property but to be fair this stopped before midnight. Some guests inevitably came back to the Hotel in the early hours but again we found they were quiet generally, except for our first night when our room had been double booked so we had to stay in a downstairs room near the entrance and it was quite noisy with people passing the room all night. We enjoyed a late night bus tour to Valetta and Mdina but it got back very late (early morning) and we felt they tried to pack too much in.

This place is great! Very clean rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, quiet air conditioning. Its only 7-10 minutes walk to Balluta Bay - where you can find good restaurants, pubs, public beach, boat rides etc. And around 10-15 minutes walk to ferry. The breakfast is simple but delicious, and there are also nice cocktails and drinks that you can order for an extra fee. The pool is nice, not too big, but enough for swimming and refreshing - there is also a lot of shade where you can hide from the scorching sun. The service is just brilliant - very nice and helpful staff, we had problems with the electricity in our room but they moved us to another one and we got a free breakfast for the inconvenience.I highly recommend this hotel.

The staff at the reception welcomed us right away and showed us around the hotel. The hotel room was the one we'd booked and we were very satisfied with it. It was comfortable and very clean. We saw the cleaning staff every morning and they greeted us in a friendly way. The staff at the breakfast area were also very friendly and the breakfast itself was delicious. There was a variety of things to choose from although not many things for people who may have vegan diets. The pool area is very quiet, perfect for a relaxing morning or afternoon. The room was also air conditioned, which was important after a long day out in the heat. We were provided with adaptors for our chargers and we could connect our streaming profiles to the TV set. We are very happy with the experience staying in this hotel and would recommend it 100% when visiting Malta.

At the hotel, there was nothing that we didn't like. However, the area where the hotel is at is very dirty. The pavement was very narrow and there was rubbish everywhere. We later found out it's because the rubbish bags will be picked up right from each front door, but it didn't give us a good impression at all. The streets were also quite smelly and we saw cockroaches, thankfully not inside the hotel!

The decor was lovely, typically Maltese. Loved the recycling of the floor tiles & doors in the breakfast room. The bed & pillows were very comfortable. The kitchenette closet was fantastic & very useful.

We liked everything but would like to make a few suggestions. The sunbeds were very uncomfortable on your back, without cushions. The background music could do with piping out into the pool area. As at times it was deadly silent and people were having to whisper when having conversations to ensure other people couldn’t hear. If you are offering cocktails, some staff training would not go a miss. As we ordered a mojito, which tasted nothing like. Disappointingly we had to request a replacement. We opted for a glass of wine as a safer option. These are very minor suggestions but feel they would enhance the experience.

I had researched the preferred hotels before booking. We wanted pool, room air conditioning, super king bed, fridge, tea/coffee making and a small kitchenette, balcony overlooking pool and a bathroom with a bath, and location not on the front. This hotel was old and charming and had it all. Easy walking to 3 different bays. Staff very friendly and lovely decor. I could go on but exploring is all part of the fun. Lovely coffee bars near by and 2 local pubs worth a mention. Simon's pub and The Brew Grill & Brewery. Yes a local brewery.

A few niggles about the room. Air con unit was leaking (repaired), hard to access one bedside power socket, bathroom extract fan noisy, and shower head not adjustable. But these are very minor.

The property was a beautiful old charming Maltese property that has been modernised enough to make it comfortable whilst still retaining the charm. Having a small kitchenette in the room was a great addition. There was plenty of space and the room could be kept cool with the aircon. The staff were very friendly, especially Joanne at reception. Nothing was too much trouble. It was in a great location - far enough away from the front to be quiet but only a 10 minute walk to restaurants and bars.

My only issue was our balcony didn’t get any direct Sun as the balcony on the room next door blocked it.

We had a fantastic stay from start to finish The staff were excellent, like truly exceptional From Joanna the manager, to Arthur, Diego, Joanne and the entire team My mother hurt her ankle while in one of the rooms with stairs, and the staff could not do enough for her Joanna the manager quickly changed the room so it was on one level, Arthur the night manager was brilliant at looking after us too We ordered in food on two occasions for dinner and we could eat at the outdoor table or in the breakfast room and Arthur served us our drinks It really helped with my mum not being mobile Very clean hotel with daily room cleaning, beautiful old restored house with immaculate pool area We truly enjoyed our stay :)

Pity the pool area is mostly shaded but a very peaceful garden all the same I would definitely choose a room without stairs wherever possible

The staff is the biggest asset for this hotel! they are unbelievable you kind, friendly, informative, and helpful. We met 5 different people at the reception and they were just as nice! No exception! Also, the hotel is very well located, it’s ~15 mins walking distance to Sliema and St Julian! The ferry was not operational during our stay so we took the bus from Valletta back and it was fairly quick as well (about 20 mins to Sliema). The breakfast was heavily discounted but we already had plans so did not take advantage of the EUR 3 breakfast (shame though!)

Although we got upgraded (to be honest I didn’t check what the upgrade included besides pool view but on the 3rd floor it was not quite as nice, and it included a mini kitchen helpful for someone staying in the room for a longer time), I wished there would be another bin in the room rather in a corner of the bathroom. The chair was a bit small/not comfortable, 2 in the room we need space to sit. The toilet flush was not working properly and also there is no door in the shower so water spills over near the sink. As the bathroom is small there was not enough space to hang the wet towel, there was one above the toilet but you know that’s not the right place.

Great breakfast delivered to our room - two options (british/continental) to choose from, super friendly and helpful staff, spacious, clean room with comfortable bathroom - all was great.

The only thing that might be improved is slow wifi.
