The Preluna Hotel

The Preluna Hotel has so many things to like. Perfect location, close to everything, overlooking the ocean and so many great bars and restaurants to try. Our room was always clean, the staff are super friendly and we are so happy we booked here. Can I just state that one of the reasons we nearly didn’t book here was due to the lift apparently being slow after reading some other peoples reviews. I can 100% confirm the lift is fine and quick enough for what I would expect a lift to be. I never waited more than 30s to a minute tops. Those reviewers who complained about the lift just like to whinge so please ignore these and trust me when I say this is absolute weapon of a hotel with everything you will need to enjoy your stay in Malta.

The only fault would be that at the time we booked we were hoping to use the indoor spa and pool facilities however upon our arrival the room was unavailable for a whole week (the 1 week we stay) so we missed out. I have no issue with the maintenance side of things so all good there but just it would have been nice to know in advance and/or have our total hotel fee reduced to compensate for no access to gym/spa but it is what it is.

Very nice views from our room! Cleaners came every day to clean. Comfortable room for the money we gave. Many nice facilities to use, gym and pools. Love the beach club. Bus stops are opposite from the hotel, and ferries 7 min walk.

Not so clean towels , bed sheets and bathroom , when we first arrived wasn’t perfectly clean as it should be for a 4star hotel. 4star hotels need to put more shampoos , hair dryers etc. breakfast could be a better price aswell, was expensive. Elevator slow.

Location Was great. It is an old hotel don’t let that put you off. The staff are lovely and amazing.

The whole experience from booking to ask questions before I arrived was excellent. The staff was brilliant helpful and friendly and all facilities was upto a good standard

Nothing at all to complain about

As a regular visitor it was good to be back at the Preluna. Familiar and welcoming as ever. The wonderful front desk staff dealt with everything with calm kindness even when under pressure from more demanding guests. Mini suite fantastic.

Temporary building work on adjacent properties created dust and noise - more a problem for holiday makers as I was out at work most of the time. Intrusive at breakfast time as the crane and bucket right outside the balcony. The barking dog has returned to the flats adjacent to the hotel. I feel sorry for the poor thing and this is not within the hotels control. Bar could do with a couple of local craft beers to brighten up the tired stock - e.g. Huskie or Lord Chambray - both excellent (broad hint)

The position of the hotel with its seaview is the one thing you should consider the Hotel Preluna for. It's also close to the busstop, the ferry and many restaurants, so you can get easily around for your daytrips. The best is the stunning view that allows you to see incredible sunrises over Valetta.

The quality of the breakfast buffet, is not the same as it was in the past. We had the feeling that everything was optimized to save money. There was a lack of maltese breakfast options. It was o.k. but from a four star hotel I expect a little more. The bed has seen better days the mattress was supersoft and not ideal if you have back problems. The promissed cable TV was an joke, with a very reduced options of TV channels. The standard WIFI internet is so slow you cannot watch Netflix or Youtube. Everything in our room was rather worn out. If you expect four star accomodation it's not the place to stay. If you want to stay central and love the great view. Then go forward and book.

First, We were impressed with how helpful the staff were. They were extremely helpful in every respect. We were welcomed with a glass of juice. Breakfast with British and continental food with buttermilk pancakes could not be better. Drinks in the hotel bar reasonably priced. We loved our room, it was quite large and comfortable, although when there was a two day very big storm it was a bit cold in the room in February, but not a big issue. The view on the sea was charming. The bed and pillows were just right, so we got the good sleep. The location could not be better. Bus stop next door. Our seven days at the PrelunaHotel featured our very nice experience. The hotel didn't disappoint us. We will definitly choose this hotel again, when we are in Malta again.

Fantastic location, spacious and clean room with a direct view of the Mediterranean, rich buffet breakfast, extremely helpful staff always with a ready smile and solution to any issue. Definitely exceeded our expectations and we're planning to go back if not next year, then definitely the year after.

The only real issue - the elevators were often our of service (or at least one of the two), which meant crowds and long waits either in the lobby or on your floor. However, for those who are able, this was easily solved by taking the stairs, so honestly, it's not so much a complaint bur rather a nod to the management to either find better handymen or service the elevators fully in the off season.

The Hotel is Ideally situated for access into Sliema and the many ferries in Valetta Harbour, a 15 minute walk away , whilst not being too central to the Traffic and Bustle of the Harbour area . The outdoor swimming pool was 2 minutes access across the road and had ample sunbeds and a great bar . Breakfast in the Hotel was Buffet self service and excellent with a plentiful variety on offer . Our room was well appointed and the bed very comfortable . The roof top terrace restaurant / bar was a bonus with a Fabulous view in any direction .There are many restaurants within a 5-15 minute stroll . The Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times

Hotel is at a great location right next to the sea with a great beach club and a salty pool (the shore is rocky here, but you can also go into the sea directly). The interior of the building is nice, a classic hotel. Our room was huge, had everything you would need. AC & mini fridge both working perfectly. Bed was comfy. Every member of the staff was very helpful and nice. When I got stuck in the elevator the manager offered us a free dinner&drinks. All in all we got more value for our money than we expected.

The elevators should seriously be upgraded (I got stuck one time between 2 floors). The bathroom could be renovated but nothing too serious, it was still good. The pillows could be a bit comfier.
