I made a last-minute reservation at the Bissell House when I shifted my plans to avoid driving during Hurricane Hilary. I arrived late in the evening and was immediately enchanted by the serene property in a beautiful historic neighborhood. I stepped inside to a cozy library with a beautiful Tiffany lamp. My room was cozy and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and just the right amount of B&B banter (not overly forced/contrived but very friendly). They were my perfect port in a storm, and I will look forward to coming back and using them as a jumping off point for touring the beautiful architectural haven of Pasadena. Plus I would love to try their pool!

Parking was limited but workable.

It had a very nice charm and the breakfast was very good. Also, our room had a noise machine/fan on our bedside table! I also liked how there was a nice dining area, library, and common area. Lots of clean towels and blankets in the room as well

Was unfortunately allergic to the laundry detergent used for the Bedsheets. Also, the pool didn't look very inviting (it wasn't crystal clean like most hotel pools) however, you must keep in mind this is a bed and breakfast

The breakfasts were fantastic. First-rate, gourmet hot breakfasts each day, with cold options as well. The whole B&B is beautifully appointed and welcoming, in a very elegant neighborhood within easy driving distance of the major museums and restaurants. And the hosts could not have been nicer or more helpful.

Historic, immaculately clean and restored, and kind staff that gave us privacy and trusted with this beautiful home. Breakfast was delicious too.

Rooms have air conditioning that works well, but the main salon and living room don’t. We arrived during a heat wave. A few well placed fans would have been nice to have available.

This is a +135 year old Victorian style Craftsman house. There are beautiful architectural details everywhere.

Nothing. The house is old (for the west coast of the US), and there are some creaks and oddities that are inherent to an older home, but it truly is a beautiful home and these “issues” really just add to the overall charming character.

It felt more like staying at a friend's place rather than a b&b. The house is magnificent and has a lot of charme. Will is a great host and makes one feel welcome from beginning to end. Also, I enjoyed an excellent breakfast. Highly recommend this place.

The breakfast was amazing!! So tasty and fresh!! The morning host was very friendly and helpful!! We enjoyed the various sitting rooms and the books that were available. The location was perfect for our planned activities. Close to the Wrigley Mansion and the Gamble House.

I love that this is a beautiful old historic building and that the staff is personable, efficient, and friendly.

Room was tiny, but I chose it for the cheapest price!

As soon as you walk through the front door it is like stepping back in time. Everything is beautifully placed and their is an instant warmth and friendliness. The person who greeted me was informative, polite and professional. I’d happily come back.

The stairs creak. But even that is a part of the old building’s charm.
