URSO Hotel & Spa, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World

Location. Bar was good. Room was decent size and very clean.

Doesn’t have a pool ( knew that of course but was a downside). Lighting in bathroom poor and shower arrangement caused leakage to floor. Biggest disappointment was the restaurant. Only went last night as had an early flight next day. Was truly not good.

Spa included. The location. The design. The staff. The food.

This is only to be very particular! We loved our stay. We found it difficult to keep asking for enough filtered drinking water and ordering so much bottled water from room service was not ideal. The beds were absolutely fine, but softer would be more comfortable. And this is just dreaming - but with all the space available in the spa area, it would be so incredible if you could add an infrared sauna.

We loved the hotel building from the exterior and the interior. It has history, style and yet made us feel very much at home. All the staff we met were helpful, polite and spoke english well. The pianist in the evening at the bar was excellent and we spent a lovely hour after diner listening to him. The Concierge recommended us to one of the worlds best Cocktail bars a short walk away and that was also an excellent find. We only had one evening in Madrid, but we plan now to return and stay at the Urso when we do.

The photos don’t sum up how beautiful this hotel is. It’s immaculately designed and spotless so just being in the lobby is a lovely experience. The hallways and rooms were also spotless. The staff couldn’t do enough to help and our room was beautiful turned down with lovely little touches like the coffee machine. It’s on par with some of the best hotels we’ve stayed in worldwide.

Only slight confusion was the spa being staffed by one lady who wasn’t there when I went down so had to do some poking around to find where to go and how it worked. But that’s one minor thing.

The staff are wonderful, so friendly and helpful. We had a light supper the first night in the lounge and it was lovely with the pianist playing next to us. We had a spa which was small but nice. You wouldn't need more than about 45 minutes. We also booked for a facial and massage and the beauticians were funny and very skilled. Breakfast was incredible and we didn't feel hungry again until evening. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The bed was like a giant cloud!

My only picky gripe was the products on the bathroom. They were in dark black bottles and I like to see what is inside. They didn't feel luxury and the conditioner was rubbish. I love hotel bathroom products and these felt more Aldi than 5 star.

The relaxing atmosphere, the historic building with art nouveau details. The entire wonderful staff, in particular the breakfast, front desk and cleaning staff. The chocolates and water at night. No street noises even if you have a room facing the street. The lovely spa treatment. Good working air conditioning, the overall attention to detail and personal approach.

There is nothing to dislike.

Excellent, professional,and friendly service. The room was very well appointed, extremely comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful, with an abundance of delicious offerings. Truly exceptional.

Everything was perfect

modern well appointed hotel, v comfortable, excellent location. Overall it is always about the manager and the staff they hire. Besides the physical hotel design and fabulist quality, IMO this is what gives a hotel 'personality' This staff was consistently professional, helpful and accommodating. more business like than warm but that works. Our room was a bit loud (first floor,) and they changed it. we needed a PCR test and they arranged that at the hotel. room service excellent.

nothing. however we had just come from the Mercer Hotel Barcelona and they set a very high bar !

Excellent location, friendly and professional staff. I did not have breakfast included but splurged on my last day and it was delicious.

I found the bed a little tiny bit uncomfortable but not enough not to go back.

I do Very nice room with comfortable beds and in a good location.

We had trouble turning down the AC in our room so we were very cold despite the weather being pleasantly warm outside. I would also say that the hotel feels quite corporate - I would be happy to stay here on business but it wasn’t ideal for a holiday visit.
