Hostal MH Fuencarral

The location is perfect for getting you around to the main things - 2 minutes away from Gran Via. It might be an issue if you don't like crowds as it's a very circulated area, but I couldn't hear noises from outside in my room so that was fine. My room was kind of small (which I expected based on what I read about the hostel) but super clean. The staff was friendly.

My room didn't have natural light (it was a single room), so that turned out to be very depressing - maybe that's a minor thing to other people, but I am mentioning it here. Also, I couldn't hear any noise from outside (which was great), but I could hear noises from inside the hostal quite close (when someone would go at the reception etc.) so keep this in mind.

Location is excellent, it's right in the heart of the city, the entrance to the building is from one of the main pedestrian streets. However, there is no problem with the noise as my windows were facing inside court. The room is very small but if you just need a place to sleep and don't plan on spending daytime in the hotel that's for sure not a problem. The room was modern and felt quite cozy.

The windows are facing inside roof which provides very little natural light to the room, not to speak about the view of course. So if you want to spend time in the hotel apart from sleeping maybe it's a good idea to think about somewhere else. If you only here to sleep, however, I see no problem.

The hostal is 50 mts from Gran Vía and from the metro station Gran Vía. Location is excellent. Very important to request an inside room because the first time I had a lovely balcony looking to the street but couldn’t sleep because of the noise. The amenities are simple and okay. The bed is very comfortable and the room was clean. I would have loved to have a small refrigerator but no such luck.

The building has an elevator but to get to it you have to go down or up a short flight of stairs. Not very easy with suitcases.

This property was in the most amazing location… situated right on one of the main shopping streets, and only a 2 minute walk away from Gran Via. The suburb it’s in has amazing resteraunts and cafes, which surrounding suburbs lack, and the room itself was amazing value for money.

Excellent location within a short distance from Gran Via metro. Lift to the 3rd floor entrance. Friendly staff. Toiletries were provided.

The double room which I had booked for solo occupancy only had a narrow window that opened onto a small vertical internal space. with washing hanging immediately outside. This would not have been a particular issue but if the blind was open, other guests could see into the room from other windows nearby. The blind could therefore only be partially opened. As I was not in the room much it was not a significant problem for me but other guests may find it claustrophobic, particularly if sharing.

Location, No street noise despite being in the centre. Overall I would recommend this place, location is great, I would advise to bring earplugs if you are light sleeper.

Shower had dirt (mould?) gathered in the edges. It was cleaned inside but it wasn't looking very pleasant. The corridors were very thin so you can hear other guest, the doors closing were very loud ( not because of people slamming them, there is just no way of closing them quietly). I was lucky enough that people staying in this place during my stay were not loud party goers so I could still have decent sleep.

location was great!clean room. only saw the staff when i checked in. had a balcony over looking the pedestrian mall 🙂

the bed was tiny

location is right off Gran Via street and metro station. i got a private room for my own. stores are downstairs and restaurants are everywhere. very convenient

somebody smoked in elevator. it took me a while to find which floor the hostel is and actually i had to text messaging the reception asking for it. it would be nice they out this information in their welcome message

location was really good and the staff were nice also the room was very clean and very spacious for a single room

my room came with the curtains broken but besides that it was excellent

I loved the location of this hostel, how clean it was, and the kindness of the staff who work there. I asked to change the room I was in because the WiFi didn't reach to it, and the TV was not working, and they did in fact change my room to a better one the day after as another room got available.

I did not like that some rooms have a view of the middle of the building and their windows could not be open well.
