Petit Palace Plaza del Carmen

Couldn't be happier with our choice of hotel. Perfect location, wonderfully friendly and helpful staff throughout, incredibly comfortable (and quiet) rooms and beautiful breakfast selection (in a room full of character). The staff really are a joy and the location is perfect to explore on foot. The hotel had a "boutique" feel and had everything we required. We were by no means the only guests there, although sometimes it felt like the place was there only for us. Even the wi-fi is excellent! We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

Nothing, it was a perfect stay and ticked every box. The square outside is being remodeled, but we couldn't hear any of the work going on thanks to the (noise reducing?) windows/doors over the balconies. When it's completed it really will be stunning and we can't wait to see it.

The location is amazing, in the heart of Madrid, super close to Gran Via. The bedroom was not very big, but worked well for a couple, and it was very clean and cozy. Breakfast was okay, the food was good but not much variety, despite having many different milk options. The staff was super friendly and always available to help us with every request.

The bedroom was a little bit too small, but manageable. Breakfast could be more varied, with more bakery and fruit options.

perfect location close to everything! The staff was welcoming and helpful, and I even got a fruit basket 4 days into my vacation, which was a nice surprise. The room was clean and I loved the little balcony. The breakfast was fantastic as well. definitely a good choice!

there’s a lot of noise from the restaurant downstairs late into the night, the square is under construction, as well as the hotel next door. I assume most of it is temporary but if you are a light sleeper, or likes to take a nap during the day, you might find it interpreting.

Location is perfect next the the busy Plaza de Sol. You can reach every touristic location by foot or take a metro. We stayed in the small double room, which was large enough for a couple of days for business and sightseeing. The bathroom was huge with a top notch shower, and everything you need for a trip. In general the Hotel was clean. Breakfast is rich and affordable. At least try it, if you want to leave the hotel in the morning with a full stomach :) Staff is very friendly. Thank you!

The place is great. Staff cool and friendly. The location is hard to beat to be honest, it's between Gran Via and Sol so has so much around and it is really only a walk to most things a tourist would like to see/do. The quad room was gladly bigger than expected to accommodate four not very young men.

I don't want to mention it as it had no impact on our stay but the plaza out front is a building site, I imagine some may not like.

A unique experience and extraordinary personnel. I have no words that can express how the experience was beyond my expectations. It feels like home and family atmosphere. Everyone is smiling and willing to help. Also, they let us use portable internet dongle during our stay for free (we didn’t ask for this). I highly recommend the place for peace of mind. Excellent location as well. The breakfast is great. My next stay in Madrid will be most probably in petit palace (especially Plaza del Carmen site). To add more, there is another petit palace nearby who gave us a replacement bicycle (it was their offer not because of our request). They know what you need, and they offer the best they have. This is my first hotel review on booking.com because I feel that I have to do so.

Excellent breakfast. Ultra-central location close to all the sights

The opening system of the door at the entrance to the room was malfunctioning. I stood in front of the door for 5 minutes before entering the room. I reprogrammed the entry cards 2 times a day. Sometimes the door would not close and the room remained open.

It is in the centre of the city centre. A lot can be found within the walking distance. Hotel itself is in a relatively quiet square. There is a restaurant in the same building. It was easy to get to from the train station with the metro. We arrived a bit early but were able to leave the luggage in the hotel until our room was prepared. Our room was spacious and the bed was big, soft and comfy. There was a small balcony as well. Kids slept in the bunk beds. Bathroom was great except the fact that the door was a decorative-opaque-glass one, it did not shut, just like a curtain of sorts. We liked the breakfast quite a bit and it felt more like a small restaurant than your usual cafeteria. There are plenty of options around if you want to eat and go out, there are small shops where you can get snacks and a bottle of beer/wine/fanta as well. The price of the say was high but that might be because it was the time of the New Year.

The opaque glass doors of the bathroom, there is an open space above them - no privacy 😁. Also, the hairdryer power cable “got loose” after a couple of days and it stopped working.

The position is excellent, in the center of Madrid next to Gran Via. My room was furnished with a small desk which allowed me to (unexpectedly) work remotely for a few hours and the wifi worked perfectly. Beds are comfy and the bathroom is quite big compared to the overall size of the room which is always good. Spacious shower.

I did the online check in as advised. My partner (the second guest) got to the hotel before me (the main guest) as he was already in Madrid while I was coming from the train station. I didn't like that when he got there apparently no one asked for his physical ID (although I repeat, we checked online and submitted our IDs and selfies) so probably this is a standard procedure but at the same time I wasn't even advised by email that the other guest had arrived. I mean this for security reasons as when you get to the hotel you can go straight to your room without passing via the reception and this could have been anyone (?).

Location was perfect, everything easily accessible. Nice and quiet, was never disturbed. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice and fresh. Hotel staff could not have been more helpful if trying, friendly and polite.

New pillows - however this is just personal preference.
