Hotel Mirador Puerta del Sol

Although the room was simple, the combination of cleanliness, staff, location and comfort made up for the lack of in-room facilities (no coffee/tea maker/kettle, very basic shower gel sachets). In fact, we were extremely impressed by how regularly the beds were freshly made and how clean the room was during our stay. Elevator to our 4th floor room was always in good working order. No problem with key card entry and WiFi worked well. You really can't beat the location. And plenty of places to eat and drink in the area.

Soundproofing isn't great so bring ear plugs. Mainly the sound of other guests walking along the corridors...

Loved it was centrally located. We didnt use public transportation we walk. Its footsteps from multiple restaurants and puerta del sol. At night it can be a very busy street but they have decent wall thickness. That was never an issue to us. Very well stocked. Very clean rooms. Wifi worked ac unit worked elevator worked. We arrived early they held our luggage which is a locked room, that a plus. On that same level its a cafeteria/dining area. Very handy if u want to bring outside food without eating next to your bed. They have a vending machine for drinks and chips. Excellent value for me. I would return anytime. Staff speaks English.

The fridge in our room was empty, I guess the hotel doesnt provide water or sodas as most hotels ive stayed at. Was a first time for me. Other than that, nothing to complain.

Excellent location, next to Sol metro and Plaza Sol. Lots of tourists around the proximity. The receptionists were friendly and nice, she allowed us to choose between balcony view and courtyard view. The housekeeper was awesome at maintaining the room clean and tidy. The souvenir store downstairs the hotel sells great stuffs at great prices. Worth staying if you don't mind the sound and noises. We enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the city so this hotel is great for us! Ps: bed and pillow are a little soft.

A bit noisy at night and wee morning. Ongoing renovation opposite the hotel but if you close the windows, it is still fine to sleep.

The location is central to many places we wished to visit by walking. Only about 50 yards from "Sol" metro station as well. Cafes, bars, and ice cream shops are nearby. (Starbucks is next door) The front desk staff (Diari and Princess) were very helpful, knowlegeable, and kind; The "lounge" has coin operated coffee and beverage (water, sodas, beer) vending machines which are convenient. It also has tables and chairs and very large windows overlooking the pedestrian street below. The entire place is neat and clean. An excellent value and a very pleasant experience over all. I highly recommend this hotel for any budget conscious travelers!!! Thanks!

I was very satisfied with the facilities and staff. Mattress was a bit soft for my preference, but not a deal breaker at all. Bathrooms seemed recently renovated. Granite wall tile was a nice touch. The glass door shower, with several shower heads, is effective. But, it's a little bit tight for a larger person.

- the location is excellent, very close to metro and bus stations, restaurants and supermarkets - no street noise, rooms was quiet

- the walls are quite thin, so you can hear people from other rooms - the room was a bit worn down, especially the bathroom. the water temperature was sometimes unstable and the water pressure was a bit low - the window was very close to the other building's wall, so not much light and not much to see, but on the flipside we have heard no noise from the street

The location is superb, only 2 minutes from the metro station and everything you can possibly need is within the walking distance. The staff was also very nice and helped me with additional documents for my stay. The room was very spacious and even had a separate couch aside of the bed.

The bathroom was designed quite unusually so I bumped into the wall several times while turning there, but still very clean and neat

great location, 2 min walk to sol if that. great view from bedroom window. 24h access to the property when needed. had luggage storage available for later flights. reasonable price vending machines for snacks and drinks. shower was amazing, it was a like a jacuzzi shower with lots of different setting on it. comfy beds

i specifically requested a room with a view which I got but it is noisy which didn’t bother us but bare in mind if you would like a quiet room. the beds were 2 singles pushed together and were on wheels so kept moving apart

The location of this hotel is great - right off Puerta Del Sol - close to "everything" - restaurants, shopping, metro. It is a very busy location with tons of tourists. We were pleasantly surprised how quiet our room (206) was. We could hear nothing from the street. The hotel is basic and very clean. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. A/C worked great and there was an elevator. Madrid hotels are very expensive and this hotel was reasonable.

Location was excellent, although the taxi could not take us to front door of the hotel since it is located in a walking zone only. We had to walk around more than I cared to to find the hotel. Although a bit small, and the twin beds were stuck together, we were comfortable. The noise outside was muffled with the shudders, so we slept well.

The location was excellent, easy walking distance to all the main museums and touristic sights. Cleanliness was excellent. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The wifi and air conditioning worked very well and shower was good.

The bed was the only thing that we could complain about. It was rather small and quite soft and lacking support. My husband got quite a backache from sleeping on it.
