Room was clean big and comfortable. It is on the sixth floor with a wonderful view of the rooftops of Madrid. Location of the hotel in the center of the center. Everywhere is a sputum distance of up to 20 minutes maximum. In addition, the kitchen was fully equipped.

The only thing we didn't like was the lack of vegetables at breakfast, but this is a general problem in Spain and not specifically related to the hotel. It's just not customary to eat vegetables for breakfast

The location is excellent and the staff are so welcoming from the moment you arrive. We were a little disturbed by the dark hallways that feel a little old and aged. But once you step into the apartment, you are greeted by a spacious area filled with lighting and comfy furnishings. The bathrooms are spacious with incredible lighting for makeup. The television didn't have much channels but it connected just fine to our Samsung devices with mirror screening so we were able to watch movies. The kitchen is handy with a wonderful big fridge but not the most space for cooking a big meal but plenty of fridge space for storing food. We stayed on New Year's Eve and received a surprise bottle of bubbly, chocolates, and grapes to bring in the new year. There is plenty of lovely touches and a beautiful restaurant right at the top of the building if you are seeking a self-servicing stay that feels at home with a splash of hotel treatment.

It is on the loud side at night, but this is expected being right in the heart of Gran Via. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment on the 7th floor and heard nothing from the nearby rooms so it's well insulated. The music outside cannot be helped and the beds are so comfy you will be able to sleep through it.

Fantastic staff, but one member in particular Sophie was a star, absolutely amazing at her job and was super knowledgeable on everything we asked her (whether it was advice on returning our hire car, suggestion on best flamenco show to see, booking said flamenco tickets, advice on sights to go to and at what times, best methods to go eg taxi vs metro vs walking - we had 2 kids in tow so some locations posed a bit of issue there, timings to plan the day re: having to get to our train connection when checking out and leaving bags in storage until we needed them, and even helping us print / sign /witness some important documents we needed to urgently FedEx back to our home country!). The location is great for those who like to be amongst the main shopping district which suited us, perhaps those that like the older quarters or "happening bars / restaurants" there seemed to be a few other locations that would have suited better for those but they were equally good to get to for us. Small supermarket just around the corner which helps for those who wanted to use the kitchenette cooking facilities like we did - made for a great breakfast to our liking and saved $$ for spending out on the coffess/lunches/dinners/shopping.

It is a narrow small entry hidden amongst the main street so for those driving like we did there was no real place to drop off easily (taxis obviously no problem) we had to park in a small paid stacker carpark just behind the building which thankfully was easy to find by doing a quick drive around.

Nothing we can complain about

- The apartment was big enough, comfortable and clean, with a kitchen and everything you need. Super cool! - The bathroom was spacious enough and well equipped. I loved it! - In a central location. - They offer luggage storage after check-out, which is great for later flights. - The staff was nice. - There was a rooftop bar but we didn't go and can't comment.

- Our room had no view. - It was super noisy all the time, always someone moving heavy metal objects in the middle of the night... - The lobby (if I can call it that) smelled awfully like a toilet, good thing it wasn't like that in the room. - We were offered daily cleaning which we agreed to but no one entered our room for our 3 night stay.

1. The location was perfect - very central and with many shopping opportunities. I recommend food shopping downstairs of the opposite El Corte Inglés Callao center, across the street. 2. The apartment was fully equipped with all the necessary equipment for meal preparation. 3. The outstanding design of the apartment.

1. The communication with the staff didn’t work from the beginning. I had to ask three times for an extra blanket. The request was written down, but not fulfilled. 2. The shower cabin lacked a water barrier on the floor and probably one of the walls - we had to shower very carefully and the floor still got flooded. 3. The apartment wasn’t cleaned for four days of our stay. Only the garbage was taken out. I had to ask again and again for all the amenities to be replenished. I think, it could be done differently for the guests staying longer. 4. The studio was situated on the second floor of a 10 storey building. It was quite dark due to the windows looking at the inner yard and still very loud due to the loud music in the bar on the top floor.

The hotel is centrally located in Madrid on one of the main streets, but the windows are well insulated so the room is not noisy. We stayed in one bedroom apartment with a small kitchenette that had all the necessary equipment for our 5 days stay. The staff came every day to empty the trash cans. The apartment cleaning service (housekeeping) is also offered for a fee. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. The highest praise goes to the staff we met at the reception who helped us a lot with various suggestions for trips (and booking a trip to Toledo), to book a taxi to airport etc. Everyone we met was always in a good mood and greeted us with a smile. We returned from our trip yesterday and the children are already asking when we are going to Madrid again. =)

Everything was excellent.

After a long day of travel and arriving right before midnight, we enjoyed a comfortable stay at Smartrental Collection Gran Via. The following day we ended up booking a different room for my niece for that night and Ana at Front Desk helped us coordinate everything and told us to go out and enjoy town while Eduardo helped move luggage from one room to another and Melissa from Housekeeping made sure to have the room ready for us and even helped with some laundry. We can't thank them all enough for making this work and letting us enjoy the last bit of Madrid before our travels back. We would definitely stay here again!

Excellent location in Madrid being close to several major plazas within walking distance. Also, our rooms were located away from the busy and noisy Gran Via street. Good control of room temperature. Well stocked kitchen with ample supply. Strong water pressure in shower; towel warmers are a big plus.

Very small elevators but that is to be expected in this type of building. No real lobby area, again that is to be expected in apartment type hotel. Took a while to figure out shower faucet control as there were no symbols on the faucet.
