Hotel & Lounge by Hyve Basel SBB

I love the Hyve vibe. The rooms are fantastic, cool café. l was unsure about the shared facilities, but nothing to worry about, clean and spacious.

Fantastic location, less than 5 min walk south of Basel SBB station, and in a quieter part of town. The room was much larger than expected, and we appreciated the sink in the room, as well as small thoughtful amenities such as the bathrobe and bath slippers. The beds were firm and comfortable, and we had a very good night's rest. The shared showers and toilets were large, well-kept and very clean, and water pressure was great. So while I generally don't favour shared bathrooms, I was very happy with Hyve's standards! Check-in/out process was also amazingly easy, and it was nice that there was also a member of staff on standby to help if needed, although the detailed instructions were very clear. We were also able to drop off our luggage in storage a few days early as we took a short trip out of Basel and did not want to carry everything with us. We were very impressed overall, and would definitely recommend Hyve to friends visiting Basel in future!

Nothing - everything was fantastic. A small suggestion would be to consider more wall hooks in the rooms for hanging clothes in future, thanks.

Easy walking distance from train station to hotel. Easy check in and free Basel card that allowed free public transport among other things- an initiative by the Swiss government- all hotels provide this card. The laundry, games room, gardens, lounge and kitchen were great. Very user friendly

The biggest issue out of their immediate control is the weather. This hotel has no air-conditioning and the private rooms have no ventilation so the hot air remained trapped and stifling. Thankfully fans were provided and by keeping our window open and fans going we were able to cool the rooms in the evening to a nice temperature. Would be great in all seasons except for those odd hot days.

Great option for staying with a family, super hip location but the apartments, while no kitchen, were comfortable and had a great little balcony where we could hear choir practice across the street in the evenings. Street parking was ok, but not inexpensive. Breakfast was ample, but there were lots of other options around. Super convenient to the SBB and all the tram lines. Great little park and playground on the corner.

Our mini fridge door didn't close and was, therefore, useless. We just left it unplugged.

Very close to the central station, large room with toiletries, towels and bath robes. Quite rooms, sound isolation was great! We lived in the building with a shared bathroom/WC, and it was so neat and clean that felt almost at home! There are many board games available both for kids and adults, pool and darts room was also great. The kitchen is well equipped, although one of the refrigerator’s was all in water😬

I guess for Swiss crones, breakfast was a good value for money, but dropping to a supermarket nearby would still be cheaper.

The apartment is clean, beds are comfortable to sleep big balcony to chill. Location is great, 3 min walking from the basel main station and also close to super market to get the fresh breakfast in the morning. The staffs are extremely helpful, they helped me to keep the important package before my arrival.

Would be greater if they can answer my message quicker.

We stayed here because there were no hotels left in Alsace area in Christmas season. Glad we did it that way, paid a very reasonable price, yet travelled to Strasbourg/Colmar very easily everyday. This place is 5 mins walking distance from train station, rooms are cozy, modern, super clean and warm. Hotel has a great cafe area, food and drinks available, it can also be a good working space.

Everything was perfect.

The room is spacious for 3 people. The bathroom is huge. The dining area is also a plus, and the balcony too. Staff are also warm and accommodating. It also just a couple hundred meters from the main train station. We enjoyed our stay overall. For the city the price is a good deal.

We have expected for an electric kettle, but there is none in the room, and the refrigirator provided doesn't work. There is a central kitchen that we can cook, it is in the next building, that makes it okay.

We loved our comfy, very quiet room a few minutes on foot from the central trainstation. Options for breakfast we didn't use (we went to Cafe del Mundo: can recommend) but we had (good) coffee in the lounge. Beds were nice and soft; we'll be back! Self check in is easier then you think and help is around the corner :-) Oh and don't forget the free public transport!

Center was quiet a long distance away but with free public transport and a tram stop a few minutes away, you'll be there in no time.

Hyve was clean, tidy, in a convenient position to visit Basel, the staff was very kind, but I think that what stood out the most was the coworking vibe around it, with its hall where people were jus chilling or working. It felt more like a cozy cafe than an hostel/hotel, and I mean it in a positive way. In the end, it was itself an attraction of Basel to visit, for me.

Nothing major, just minor point, the online checking procedure didn't work. However, luckily there is a person at the desk from 7am till 11pm, so that is fine
