Hampton Inn & Suites - Knoxville Papermill Drive, TN

Hotel was excellent...very clean...great location for our stay. There was a slight glitch at check in due to a power surge which affected reservations and key access to rooms, but everyone was extremely accommodating and went out of their way to be sure we could get into our room until the problem was fixed.

I didn’t like that I had to park not in the lot and FAR from the door. Due to 3 construction vehicles all with trailers taking up 6 parking spaces a piece. There also was a UHaul pulling a car that also took up 6 places. They were all parked in the back and relatively close to the door. Parking down the hill in the grass, to walk in the rain after a 9 1/2 hour drive was NOT what I was expecting.

Breakfast was great. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was quiet. Parking was great.

Didn't appreciate that i had to pay extra for better wifi. not a good look for a Hilton property. I didn't care for the curtain setup in my room. They stopped at the edge of the air conditioner/heater unit which was in the middle of the window. So, when the sun came up it was blindingly bright in my room.

The hotel staff was very nice. We arrived late and check in was smooth. I had forgotten something and they were able to give me a travel size item to hold us over. It was a quiet room and the beds were comfortable.

The room wasn't very large for the 4 of us. There were two queen beds but there wasn't a sofa or large lounge chair to sit on. That may have been my mistake for not looking into that. The breakfast also closes very early. My son and husband were unable to make it down for food. The kind woman working the breakfast area was very helpful on making sure my daughter and I were able to eat.

The staff at this hotel is amazing! From check in to breakfast, they are so friendly and efficient. The breakfast buffet was fantastic! There are so many options to choose from. My daughter loved the red velvet waffles. All in all, we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The room was dated. The carpet was stained. The towels were close to threadbare. I can see how this was once a really nice hotel, but it desperately needs some updates

Great staff -"Ace" recommended a great local restaurant and almost walked us there rather than just giving directions. Room was huge, very well laid out and spotless. Breakfast really good and fresh and free on site parking

Only very minor downside was my wife couldn't access the WiFi.

There was no breakfast available the morning we left. We had to get on the road so had to skip breakfast all together and get some fast food on the way home. Not what I would have preferred.

Would have preferred breakfast the day we left. Apparently no one showed up to get it ready and open the breakfast buffet. Had to catch fast food along the highway on the way home. Not what I would have preferred. Also there's no on-site restaurant. After driving all day to get there it would have been nice to catch some dinner on site just too tired to drive the distance to a local restaurant. A little disappointed with that.

Breakfast was very nice, when we stayed they were back to almost as they were before COVID. The only difference and a nice one was a lady served us our eggs, meats, etc. instead of the hot tray style and it made a lot of positive feelings for us, because we bonded with her she was very willing to provide our meal and added items as we asked for them and would walk to our table, which was very nice, she understood what hotel travel is suppose to feel like. Too many hotels in this category feel providing a room and answering questions at a front desk is about all that is needed. For travel to grow in the coming years beyond remote office folks is adding simple services like this that not only make the customer feel special but help build a positive lasting feeling that your travel will share and when in your town again will remember your place and stay there again. I have been alive almost 55 years and when I was kid this is the extras the really nice hotels did well. Breakfast service was like that.

Price, but it is the area all the hotels are a bit higher due to location to downtown. I did not feel the cost was worth it for the value of the hotel nor location. Not that the hotel wasn't very good, it was but you all asked and that is the only negative. I felt it was about $20 per night too much for the location and what each room actually had in it to make you feel like you got your money's worth.

Clean, spacious and quiet!

One receptionist told me I didn't have a reservation. The guy looked at it and found it right away. My name was in the last name then first and she was looking for it the other way around. Then she offered waters to the guest she was working with and he never offered that to us.. not a big deal just odd with us both checking in at the same time.

staff was kind and hotel was very clean

the only criticism was during our stay there was a tornado warning and the front desk had no plan. i know it is a stretch to ask the overnight staff to be coached on the weather safety protocols, but they seemed to have no idea where to go. we chose the bottom floor of the stairwell, because there were no windows.
