Hampton Inn Santa Cruz

It was easily accessible to freeway, and within minutes to boardwalk. This allowed us to see both the Winchester House, and Santa Cruz boardwalk on a short trip. Also really great continental breakfast, I especially enjoyed the ice cold cranberry juice.

The only little hiccup was waking in morning to find ants on the desk area. I mentioned them to desk when we checked out so someone would be aware before next guest checks in. The girl didn't seem phased by my mention of ants. I took a picture of them

The staff had exceptional customer service. The hotel itself was very clean ; beautiful sight to see. The fluffy cloud of a bed and spacious room really made me feel at home.

My room was in the worst corner it could’ve been in. It was right next to the House Keeping closet and Ice machine. There was a constant buzzing all night and the walls shook from the washing machine that must’ve been nearby. The Wi-Fi and cell service where almost non existent.

Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and cheery.

The breakfast was disappointing. Scrambled eggs had ham and cheese in it, not good for people who don't eat cheese or meat. No hard boiled eggs, no cut up fruit, just whole oranges and apples. Waffle maker barely cooked the waffles and they were not done. No almond milk or non dairy alternate types of creamer. Only one pitcher of 2% milk.

The breakfast was good and I liked the way the muffins, bagels, etc. were wrapped for safety. There was a nice assortment of food. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient for our purpose. I would definitely use this hotel again and highly recommend it.

The pool is very small and the parking spots are extremely narrow. It helps that the parking in the back is at an angle. It minimizes door dings. I'm not sure there is much that can be done about either of those.

I liked the breakfast how helpful the staff were and I was very comfortable with my room

Parking and speed bumps were terrible homeless people around was unpleasant if you want to swim pool’s really small more than two people would probably be uncomfortable

Homeless in the area can be a bit aggressive. One guy asked us to buy him coffee which was odd (we did, but the owner didn’t seem to appreciate it. We kind of did understand because it could be seen as encouraging “begging “ in a nice establishment) Another guy before that was howling at nothing just across the street, which is sad but also intimidating. Not the hotel’s fault though!

Like the central location. Probably should have stayed at the other Hampton Inn in Santa Cruz as we were going to UC Santa Cruz in the morning.

Breakfast was just okay. Potatoes were hard and egg and cheese was okay. Didn't get a chance to try the waffle maker as it was being used the whole time

Breakfast was ok. Bagels, microwaveable breakfast sandwich, cereal, yogurt, fruit, instant oatmeal. Definitely covid impacted. Simple continental breakfast.

The pool is tiny. It was heated but it looked more like the size of a jacuzzi than a pool. Parking spaces are tight. We took a minivan and the spaces were tight. There were enough spaces though. They share a parking space with Dennys.

The room was clean, the service people were nice and the breakfast was good

Everything was perfect but the first night the people next to our room had a few kids and they were so loud , it sounded that they were wrestling around , the next morning i talked to somebody downstairs and he said that he will put notes on my account, i told him if there was another room because he mentioned that they were staying another night, but he never called me with the info, but everything else was good.

Clean and comfortable with plenty of parking. Dennys right beside made for an easy and convenient late evening dinner. Close to the highway, but still quiet.

No laundry facilities on site. (Usually don't care, but could have used in this one case)
