fantastic view of the harbor from the 3rd floor, outdoor patio with tub, the room was a good size, bathroom & shower was nice, the outdoor tub was clean and great use of space, patio seating set was great, in room bar, snacks, mini fridge and safe, beach cruisers included, relatively close to king harbor, incentives to reduce housekeeping needs (planting trees and discount for drinks), within walking distance to many restaurants, cable tv, TVs

close proximity to the noisy restaurant, pool was a shallow wading pool, rooftop access closed at 8pm, one elevator was broken and elevator was slow, too many colored light options to cycle through, only valet parking

Our room was quiet and overlooked the marina. The staff was genuinely nice and very professional. Our kids liked the multicolor lights that lit up the room.

A day or so before our arrival date I received a call from the hotel asking if we needed anything for the room so I requested non-feather pillows. When we arrived the non-feather pillows were not in the room. The reservation was made for 4 people. There were only enough towels for 2 people and the couch bed didn't have any linens or pillows. I called down to have this corrected and it was corrected.

Beautiful location, great staff, the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on, wonderful food, gorgeous view from our ocean front room and just overall trip of a lifetime!

There isn’t much we didn’t like! few recommendations would be to consider leaving the pool open longer in the evening, reduce the price of the valet only parking (very expensive) and as a family with 8 kids, even I think this should be an adults only stay. very nice, but very expensive.

Great comtemporary style room, we loved it and have been here a couple of times. Good location, nice views and a bath tub on your room patio if you opt for a king bedroom.

No gym equipment and the breakfast used to be 'a la carte' in the Sea Level restaurant. Now we just got some -albeit good quality- grab & go items but this breakfast style is not aligned with your brand and pricing. Please start serving breakfast in the Sea Level again! Many other hotels we have stayed during our southwest roadtrip offer a touchless buffet style breakfast (continental breakfast options served by hotel staff) or a better variety of grab & go items eg breakfast sandwich etc.

Good location in the harbor. Very clean. Rooftop pool is more like a hottub on the roof. Not very big at all. Not very kid friendly. Beds were very comfortable and awesome lighting that you can change the colors. The balcony is amazing with the soaking tub on the deck outside. Very quiet and nice. Was able to sunbath naked on my balcony and that was awesome. Room service available in room and poolside but its pricey. There's even bicycles to use which are great to explore around the pier and towards Manhattan beach without driving or getting an uber. Very cool hotel. A must stay at least once.

The front desk staff were a bit unfriendly and took forever to get us signed in. The food is expensive. Pushy to get us out right at checkout time. Security deposit was $250 and hasn't cleared back yet. A bit overpriced.

The location, the view, the cleaness The room was beautiful.

The $20 a day per person for resort fees should be cancelled during covid sense you don't have breakfast available and your Restaurant dosnt open until 1130 am which is after check out and the pool was closed do to maintenance.

The view was good. I love the pockets doors in the bathroom. The room was clean and spacious. Clean sheets love the room service. I enjoy the onsite restaurant the food and music was excellent. Very good vibes. Love taking a bath on the balcony that was cool.

The carpet needed to be cleaned I saw a lot of stains on it need to be shampoo more often but other than that clean room

What I liked about our stay at Shade Hotel was the view from our room, and how close other stores/restaurants are. I also liked the room; it was clean and very cozy inside. Lastly, I loved how safe I felt when parking.

The main thing I disliked during our stay was that we felt a little dumb when we were moving around the hotel. A lot of their instructions were confusing, and whenever we would just ask a simple question to the front desk using the guest's phone, they were very sarcastic. Also, they said that there is breakfast included, but it was confusing whether or not we should go to their restaurant or if they will send it to our room. We didn't get to eat breakfast during the first day.

Location, style and view

The breakfast selection wasn’t vast, no hot breakfast available. For the price of the stay it should have been better. Didn’t like the breakfast location, in the previous night’s bar.

The room was very nice. We were impressed by the quality of options in the "in room" open bar. In addition, the free bikes and the ability to have a treadmill brought to our room was nice. Having access to beach chairs and towels was also great.
