Location, location, location! Just a few meters from the beach and right in the middle of restaurants and shopping areas. Although it’s on the main street which can get loud, once you enter the hotel it is very quiet and peaceful. The room was a bit small but I traveled alone so it was perfect for me. Such a wonderful hotel!
No elevator. There’s approximately 15 stairs to get to the lobby area and it’s very hard to get up and down when you’re traveling with heavy luggage. Depending which floor you stay there might be another set of stairs to get to your room as well. If you travel light it shouldn’t be an issue.

Staff is amazing. Location is second to none. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. This is an amazing hotel with everything at your fingertips and walking distance. Continental breakfast needs to be upgraded a tad bit, but that is not a show stopper. We will be staying here again. 1st class facility, 1st class staff, 100% satisfaction!!!!

The chocolate muffins at breakfast were top notch, while other muffins and pastries were average. The staff were excellent, accommodating guest needs and wants to the best of their ability. The location on the beach is unbeatable.
The bed had an aging spring mattress that felt like it was due for replacement (although my partner thought it was fine). On Friday and Saturday nights, there is a karaoke bar next to the hotel that creates a lot of noise. The singing isn't too disruptive, but the folks hanging out outside the bar make a lot of noise until midnight-ish.

The staff was friendly and helpful, both over the phone before we arrived and during our stay. The location was incredibly convenient for exploring the town of Avalon, and the room was simple, clean and welcoming. We appreciated that we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel after we checked out in the morning until our boat arrived that evening.
The bathroom was a little small and the lights over the mirror were burned out, leaving only the overhead light. It felt a little like showering in the dark - I'm not sure with the bathroom design if having the additional lights would have helped that at all, but it was a minor issue at best. There are stairs to get into the hotel, so if your mobility is limited, this would be an issue.

We loved the location, the beds(!), the pillows, the staff, and the breakfasts. We loved the bathroom and all the great towels and beauty products. It was very cozy. We also appreciated all the complimentary coffee and hot chocolate.
The only thing that would’ve made it better might be an elevator, but we all got a lot of exercise. It would’ve helped with all the shlepping!

More variety would have been nice. Same offerings of 2 Danish and 3 muffins. Bagels and cream cheese and fresh fruit would be great. Hot chocolate along with coffee and tea selections would be great for kids.
Elevator access for those who can't or have a difficulty time with stairs. But with an older building it might not be feasible at this point.

The staff were very accommodating. After we had checked out, one of our friends got food poisoning and was quite sick. Even though the hotel was sold out, the front desk clerk was very gracious and helpful when trying to make her comfortable. Everything about this trip was excellent.

The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs, especially with our unfortunate timing with hurricane Hillary. Wonderful location, they supplied us with plenty of coffee and amenities, including beach towels, etc..

The location is very good and convenient. Breach front and nice. Besides, these patio rooms are dark. But if you don't stay in the room, go for it!
The breakfast was super disappointing. We were told there will be a continental breakfast included. Instead, we have received a voacher for Loyd's coffeeshop on the other side of the street, which appeared to be worth $5 each, so all we could get for it was a cup of tea and coffee, instead of a real breakfast :-(
