super clean, beautiful furniture, super soft sheets on a comfy bed—actually I was shocked at how comfortable the bed was. two thumbs up. oh and ROBES!! My favorite part of staying anywhere is robes. and the waffle fabric was super comfy. staff is super nice. A+ will be back next time I’m in Shell Beach!

So, the original heaters don’t have a thermostat. I fell asleep comfortable and woke up in a surprise sauna. Learned the first night, lol. Also noticed that the light switches are not connected to the lights so kinda had to fumble around in the dark to find a lamp. Suggestion would just be to have a lamp on in the room for check in as it would be more welcoming.

Since I booked I had staff communicating with me to make sure everything I needed for my Grandpa who is a wheel chair was accommodated. They even called the day of bexsuse they noticed I had booked a room farther away from my grandparents and moved us closer to them. Every staff member I I countered was so sweet and all smiles and so attentive and helpful! The room was clean and comfortable and perfect location. We loved the fire pits and the views and it gave my grandparents an amazing trip. Our tv wasn’t working in our room, they sent maintenance over right away. He wasn’t able to fix it, but we appreciated them trying. And when I checked out they gave me a discount on our bill for the inconvenience. I recommend this amazing place to anyone!! I won’t stay anywhere else in pismo area ever again, ONLY here.

Room was lovely with two big beds and a TV. Tea and coffee making facilities, a desk and plenty extra space. Bathroom was really elegant and well equipped with lots of towels (including pool towels) and bathrobes. The pool was open, but we didn't go in due to the rain. The restaurant and bar nearby was really nice, and there is a short path to the beach walk where you can look at the ocean. Staff were really lovely on arrival. Parking was included at no extra cost.

Nothing, would happily stay again.

The balcony overlooking the ocean was beautiful. Also the fire out by the water was really nice. Also I took this trip to meet my youngest brother that my mother gave up for adoption in 1976. It was a very heartfelt trip. It was the perfect location halfway between San Francisco and San Diego for us to meet. We talked about staying in San Louis Obispo but I'm glad we settled on the Spyglass Inn. Thank you for helping to create a beginning for myself and my brother.

It was raining.

Superb views. Firepits near the ocean. Location is perfect.

The desk chair needs to be replaced with something one can sit in for more than 30 minutes. ... The room was missing a sitting chair. A staff member disagreed even after I showed the staff member a picture from the website that had a sitting chair in it. ... The balcony chairs need to be taller so you can see over the railing. ... Furniture was beat up and needs to be replaced. Paying an extra $15/day for merely adequate internet service is annoying and comes across as cheap.

The location was AMAZING! Watching the sunset and sunrise is ideal! Super close to stairs that lead down to Shell Beach. Right next door to a gas station, that was great for convenience. Most friendly and attentive staff. The fireplace were awesome, overlooking the ocean. The pool was heated, great for kids. Right off the freeway exit. Ideal spot to stay. Restaurant on site, which we dined and was good. Sushi in walking distance.

The lighting in the room wasn't the best.

Very happy with our stay. Everything was perfect and satisfactory and all staff were excellent and very responsive. We had booked ocean front room which was awesome with wonderful view. Free parking. Room was perfect and clean and with all necessary amenities. Nice hang out area in the front with fire pits to enjoy the evenings watching sunset and also walking trail to enjoy the walks. Will definitely stay here again in future.

No breakfast, restaurant at location not so good and very expensive No airconditioner, but ceiling fan and heater

The pool and spa were open and for decent hours. The fire pits as well. We enjoyed both. Loved that we were offered a discounted breakfast, but we opted for other items on the menu. They offered smores kits for the fire pits. We didn't go for it but its cute and would be fun if you had the kids with you or a bit of a sweet tooth.

Dinner was just so so. But still was able to have a place to eat and the local marked was close and open for snacks and last minute supplies.

The view was breathtaking. The fireplace was very nice. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The robes were nice and comfy. The fire pits were a nice touch. We had to wait to use the one in front of our room (I think people from other hotels were using them. To be honest they should have a card key system to use them or something.) Pool was warm and the hot tub was very nice.

The beach access is not well stated in the description. You have to go down the bluff on long set of stairs, it was a little far. All the other hotels next to ours had lights strung up and looked very festive. Ours was a little outdated to be honest.

I arrived 15 min before check in. Was told room wasn’t ready. Was told it would be ready shortly and would be reached out to. I had to call myself an hour later before my room was ready
