Avila Lighthouse Suites

Hotel location was wonderful. Easy walk to the beach or village shops/restaurants. Our room on second floor overlooked a local park with partial beach views. We had a lovely private balcony for enjoying our morning coffee or evening beverage. We had a fridge and BONUS! Microwave with a few kitchen utensils including wine glass ;-) PS: Breakfast (morning coffee) was included and was very much appreciated!

Mattress was a bit firm for our liking but who doesn't prefer their home mattress.

The location is excellent. Easy beach access. Easy walking through the little town. Good breakfast. Lovely staff. The entire resort smelled like Gardenia which was lovely.

Tree trimming outside our room all day was messy and left no room for any privacy as I had to keep my shutters closed. Workmen actually climbing on my patio. The resort was not crowded and the work could have been done somewhere else that day.

The staff was very accommodating to our needs, they were polite kind and had a smile when we encountered them. The envelope that the room keys were housed in also housed a complimentary wine tasting card at the local winery down the block from the hotel. The envelope contained a map of the hotel, amenities, wifi password, check in/out hours and info on front desk. The water bottle with locally sourced spring water (alkaline) was also complimentary and we were able to have as much as we wanted during our stay. We loved that water! It was hydrating. Complimentary breakfast was freshly made and the eating area was consistently maintained. Our room faced the park and the aquarium but was still a good spot since we can still see the beach. Pool towels were provided at the pool deck. Indoor parking so the car wasn't hot. Everything we needed was accessible. Check out was at noon which gave us time to eat breakfast, shower and tour the Boardwalk. Best hotel accommodation ever thus far.

My car was parked under the pipes in the garage which was leaking water, so my newly washed car had water spots on the windows where the water was dripping.

Location right next to beach. Easy and secure parking. Well equipped kitchenette.

We booked Pool View but were given Park View. Due to travelling and many hotel bookings we only realised after, but the staff should have realised. Expensive even with a pool view, compared to other similar hotels.

Free EV charging in the parking lot, location was amazing, right across the street from the beach so we could hear the waves crashing from our room. Nice balcony/patio with ocean view and chairs for relaxing. Great for families, including activities and games like ping pong, giant checkers, and corn hole. Excellent breakfast included in price.

A couple of minor things in the room: toilet didn't flush well and AC stopped working in the middle of our last night. Was ok because we were able to open windows.

Excellent property, comfortable room, perfect proximity to the beach. Very friendly and responsive staff.

My room was next to the service quarters and when they did the laundry during the day my room shook. I have a toddler who naps during the day and it felt like a train going by or a small earthquake at first. It wasn’t enough for us to change rooms but I definitely panicked a little at first before I put 2x2 together. If my daughter wasn’t a good sleeper it could’ve woken her up. Many guests probably don’t notice it because you’re not trying to sleep in the middle of the day (you’re out on the boardwalk, at the pool, or beach) but if you’re trying to get a baby or toddler to nap it IS notable.

Beautiful views of the beach, walk way to the restaurants,shops, pier and mountains. Our balcony wrapped around and had a great view of the pool area. The room had country style shutters… Love,Love,Love….. Our room reminds us of home… Great size suite.. Plenty of room for a family with 2-3 children. Walking distance to everything you need.. Very clean room and environment… Very friendly staff. We will be back again for a two night stay ,one was not enough for the cute & comfortable suite with great views and just steps away from the beach. Great surprise for my Love ,the rose petals was beautifully done..

Only thing is the heater in our room didn’t work. Forgot it can get pretty cool at night on the central coast, especially right at the beach.

Location perfect, steps from the beach. Room was great and liked the 2 sinks. Breakfast was a nice surprise and my kids loved the chocolate chip cookies at the front desk.

Not sure how you would do it, but getting rid if yhe birds in the parking area would be nice. My car and ever car in there had bird poop on their car. The place was great but the price was too high. $800 night is not affordable. I loved the facilities but would never stay or recommend because of the $800 room price.

We were in Avila for the Blues Festival, and the venue was across the street from the hotel. This was perfect for us. Having a beach front room with patio was a great pick. The room was spacious with a great layout.

Since we stayed during the memorial weekend I do feel we paid way more than the rooms normally go for.

I definitely loved the location. It’s right on the beach, and near all the restaurants and shops in Avila. My daughter and I used to come here with my mother years ago, so it also holds sweet memories for us.

Th e only issue we had was that one of the basins in the bathroom was plugged, so we couldn’t use it. Fortunately, there are two so we managed just fine.
