Hotel & Restaurant STERNEN MURI bei Bern

Clean, quiet, onsite restaurant with tasty food (and amazing gelato!). Varied and filling breakfast. Fantastic, friendly staff. You also get a free travel card which takes you into Bern centre, which is 16 minutes on the bus. We stayed in the new block which has great air conditioning. Also, they have a variety of pillows for you to choose from, which was a nice touch. Overall an extremely relaxing hotel which made our holiday perfect. Very sad to leave, but can’t wait to return next year!

Nothing, everything was great.

Everything was really cozy and clean. Very well equipped room with many handy appliances and cutlery. Staff was really friendly too (we could easily borrow the socket adapter)! Very nice bonus is the public transport card that the hotel gives access to via an app (bus ride to the center of Bern was just 12 mins). Also, you won’t regret an evening walk through Muri itself. Supermarket is there just around the corner too.

Be careful with the narrow parking!

The personnel at the desk - and the character and cleanliness of the rooms. The quality of the breakfast was good, once it was finally restocked. I received a personal, birthday card & greeting from the hotel.

The room was really hot- and we weren‘t told there was a fan in the closet, which we didn‘t see until the following morning. The breakfast buffet was not restocked quickly enough after the rush. We had to ask for them to refill items.

Hotel is located close to quite busy city road. Noise is a bit annoying (between 7:00 - 21:30) in "Roof" room, if the window is open. Anyway you can use a massive sunblind, which is mounted outside the window ... or demand room located farther from the road. Despite this deficiency it is still good choice.

Very clean and fonctionnal room. Fairly large space. Friendly and service oriented staaf.

I booked the place for my colleagues and they were happy with the room and services received.

I didn't want my colleagues to pay for the place (breakfast, city tax), so I contacted the hotel in advance asking if they can revert all extra expenses to me as the payments will be made the company. Despite my correspondence and agreement with the hotel, they still charged my colleagues at the check-out. I found that unprofessional. It also created extra admin for me to later remunerate to my colleagues.

Excellent choice for breakfast and evening meals; good location out of the city but not far from the motorway; quiet room. Secure car parking.

We should have been advised that the trams were not running into Bern city centre (there was a replacement bus from the next street). A drinks table on the balcony would have been good.

Very large cheerful room with lots of extra comfort features, including a comfortable bed. Two leather chairs to sit in. Good parking at hotel for CHF 12 a night that was easy to use. The parking was underground and had automatic doors to the hotel elevator that made transporting suitcases very easy. The dinner on the patio was excellent, as was the breakfast in the morning. Staff wore masks and were careful about following safety guidelines. The area of Muri is a pleasant place. We checked into the hotel and had time to walk down the hill and along the river trail and back before dinner.

The hotel is being renovated and there was scaffolding outside the windows. When we opened one window there was fresh paint smell.

Facilities and decor

Bed not comfortable as I was given a bed with 2 twins joined into one. Asked for replacement after the first night, the reception said they need to check but nothing happened as I was busy all day sight seeing and by evening all rooms booked. However we should insist and get the room changed. I would However advise the hotel to inform the guest while checking in about any bed issues
