Aloft San Jose Hotel, Costa Rica

I booked into Aloft as my son was involved in a RTA in Costa Rica and was in the local hospital. I had originally booked 9 nights in San jose, not realising how far away it was from the hospital so checked out of that hotel early & moved to Aloft. I initially booked in for 3 nights which I had to extend to a further 9 nights and again another extension of 2 nights. The most important thing for me was that I could keep the same room each time I extended and the hotel ensured this request was honoured without any hassle at all. The staff here are excellent, very friendly and helpful. One particular member of staff at breakfast asked me regularly how my son was doing and how I was, he was so kind. The breakfast is excellent, lots of choice of both food and drinks. The rooms are spacious and clean and the beds are comfortable. The rooms are cleaned daily to a high standard. Visiting the hospital every day has meant I have only really experienced breakfast and the bedroom but I can see and feel from the atmosphere that this is an excellent hotel all round. I would definitely love to return in the future under better circumstances

Good price in a great location

Hotel needs maintenance, i stayed 3 years ago and notice not a single thing changed, some things are broken, need to be changed or updated. This used to be a hype place, but is getting dated quickly. Breakfast used to be the best in town, now is just another generic hotel breakfast, that's a deal breaker for me, I may not stay again because of this. It starts to feel like anything else but an Aloft or a W brand experience.

Very clean and comfortable room. Hotel was well kept. Nice bar and restaurant. Food was decent. Loved that they gave you the option to add breakfast, lunch, and dinner to the price which was very convenient on the days we were tired from excursions and didn't want to spend extra money for uber or driving to restaurants. Reception was courteous and kind and helpful. Enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommend and would stay again!!

Great Stay. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Everything was smooth and good. Free hotel Parking was a bit of hassle on late nights b/c you had to park away from the hotel and it was a few minutes walk but other than that everything was great!!

Pet friendly hotel which is hard to find nowadays. Very friendly staff. The pool has a nice warm temperature. It is a beautiful hotel, bear anything you can imagine, supermarkets, stores, movie theater.

The hallway lights are not turned off at night, meaning the light goes just through under the room's door, it is a bit uncomfortable to sleep with. There's no Netflix nor any other to watch, just the hotel's channels, a bit outdated to be honest. The shower's pressure is just too much, it stings your body, there's no enjoying a nice bath in that. You apparently cannot control your room's temperature, it's either too cold or too hot it's absurd.

I really liked the fact that the pool was heated, the breakfast was very tasty and all the leisure options that the hotel offers were super nice, the bed is also excellent for resting

When I book When the hotel, the website said that the transfer to the hotel and to the airport was included, and my surprise was when I arrived at the airport, I had to pay the bus driver for the trip. The lack of drawers and cupboards in the hotel room was also a negative point for my family who stayed for 5 days

I like the staff, particularly, the ones serving you firsthand. Breakfast was excellent with a balanced menu. The location is excellent with plenty access to just about everything you need during your day-to-day basic needs.

The reception was a little bit kind of cold in terms of welcoming greetings, but it may have something to do with the way of life in the country.

The location was good if you're traveling to the airport or to return your Alamo rental car The breakfast was decent. They had a variety of things and it was free so I can't complain. My entire family enjoyed dinner from the restaurant. The beds were comfy and my room was spacious with a cool view. The staff were all really nice

Nothing. Everything met my expectations

I was honestly surprised by the customer service, they are really helpful and always with a good attitude and smiles! The Maids were also so polite and professional as well as the chefs and cooks!! The hotel had a McDonald's and 2 plazas with Movie theater and few restaurants close by and the main Mall is 17 minutes away from the hotel!

All the facilities at the hotel are aimed at the business level and meet business standards. Staff are very hospiatble and conduct themselves professionally.

I opened a $100 tab which the receptionist insisted it was hold rather a charge on my account. However, $100 dollars was taken from my account and i am still waiting for it to be returned.

Amenities are great, the room is really comfortable and the view from the 4th floor is nice!

The staff was not so friendly at the restaurant, front desk and room service. I am from Costa Rica traveling for work purposes. First day I arrived they made me wait until people from the USA got checked in. I waited patiently without a problem but I was told to sit down and wait to finish one of the guest to check in but when my turn came they started checking another USA guest. At the end for some reason they left me last in the line. Two guys at the restaurant were not so friendly, their attitude was discriminatory versus others guests. The food does not have a very good taste, trust me I studied gastronomy and this was not even close to my regular expectations. Room service was great in regards delivery time and presentation but the staff was not friendly at all.
