Wonderful location with lake view! The room itself was top notch, the bed honestly one of the most comfortable we've slept on while travelling. Pillows labeled soft and firm, so both of us were comfortable! The patio balcony was lovely to sit in, both in morning and at evening. The included toiletries were Dove branded and smelled great.

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed early on Mondays, but showed open online prior to us booking. We would've happily ate at the restaurant. Breakfast not included but they did have free coffee all day in lobby. The hotel is directly across from a busy train track, but thankfully I slept with earplugs and didn't notice it.

The bed was comfortable. And the access in the build was very nice. I only needed to use the key card to my room.

My 3 rooms I booked were not together. The bathroom fan did not work while taking a shower and made the bathroom very steamy. The bathroom tub was very slippery and the water from the shower leaked out the tub due to a fabric shower liner. Making the floor a slip hazard. Flo ally I believe I asked for a pool room view and was given a parking lot view. The train going all hours for the night was unsettling.

The room was newly remodeled. When we checked in, the front desk staff were very friendly, efficient and upgraded us to a lakeside room. The room was very comfortable and clean with nice furnishings. We spent some time in the bar and grill. Had drinks and appetizers. There were 2 for 1 beers until for happy hour. The walleye fingers and burger sliders were tasty. We ate breakfast in the restaurant the next morning. The food menu options were good, reasonably priced. The restaurant staff were nice.

All was good, no complaints.

we didn’t have to leave the facility for anything. It has an on-site restaurant, bar, pool, hot tub, sauna and beautiful beach side rooms with a patio or balcony. There’s a dock on the lake that kids were fishing from. They have a boat or pontoon you can rent. Fishing poles you can use. Beach games and volleyball available to play. lots of beach lounge chairs and picnic tables to use on the beach. Outside bar and eating area too! We will come again! Wonderful breakfast menu! You receive a voucher to use at the restaurant for breakfast.

We truly enjoyed our stay! The room was perfect for the 2 of us. The bed and pillows so comfortable. The pool area was clean and inviting. We went to the lounge during Happy Hour and there was live music that was so fun! We ordered burgers and they we really good. And large portions! In the morning we ordered room service and it was prompt, hot, and so delicious. Again, portions we more than we needed (but we still ate every bit!) The hotel was clean and you noticed the efforts taken to keep it that way. Staying on the lake was beautiful and we just had the best, most restful and fulfilling stay. It was exactly what I was hoping for and Holiday Inn Detroit Lakes did not disappoint!

The pool hours were slim but I suppose that could be due to Covid. Other wise I have no complaints. We had the best time.

on the water,close to our wedding venue

went for breakfast in house restaurant,very early right when it opened.Food was outstanding and so was the lone waitress.Listened for 20 minutes to the back of the kitchen staff Loud and filthy swearing .So sad the weekend stay was wonderful,then we had it spoiled by this obvious disgruntled employee.

The view from lakeside room was fantastic! Fall colors were absolutely gorgeous. Beach was cleaned every morning.

The waitress we had in the restaurant should absolutely NOT be in food service or any kind of customer services. She was rude to her coworkers, didn’t know the menu and just generally put us off coming into restaurant. The food itself was fantastic so we ordered room service

We LOVED our Room. We had a balcony to see the water view. It was still snow and frozen but it was beautiful..We celebrated our 20th Anniversary there and everything was WONDERFUL. Thank you for the hospitality ( to everyone).

Peeling bathroom ceiling, dog barking next door, couldn't use telephone, had to call on my cell phone to the front desk. Carpet was dirty, found previous entrance card to room on floor when we entered our room.

The restaurant food and service was superior. Especially with Covid concerns in place, we felt very comfortable with the spacing and the care of the wait staff to keep us safe. Darla (?) took extra care in getting me a coffee to go after the phenomenal free breakfast.

My husband and I chuckled at the “view” question. Our room was oddly positioned under the eaves and our window provided a view of the indoor pool off the end of the corridor below IF we bent over and positioned our heads just right. It didn’t really qualify as a “view” which was a bit disappointing since this was a lakefront property.
