the Lodge felt a bit like an oasis or island - self-contained and surrounded by trees and greenery (the setting and architectural style reminded me of the Others' community in the TV show "Lost" -- I mean that as a compliment) the grounds are spacious and quite pleasant our room had a comfortable king bed and powerful AC for hot days there is a cool old-school bar (with an affable bartender) as well as a laundry room (with a vending machine where you can buy a single load worth of detergent) the housekeeping staff was professional plenty of parking *in theory you can walk from the Lodge up the hill to Los Gatos Blvd and then into downtown Los Gatos, but those are busy streets

I liked the vintage feel of the compound overall but the downside was our room smelled like 1978 -- as if it had long ago been a smoking room and couldn't quite shake that history a couple of the younger gals working the front desk were a bit frosty

Location was good - we needed something not too far from Santa Cruz. The room was clean and comfortable for our family of 5 and I appreciated that we could eat on our patio (table and 2 chairs). While breakfast was take and go, the options we were provided were better than anticipated. It was easy to find parking near our room. I also requested a first-floor room and we got one even though we arrived on the late side (11:00). If we need lodging in the area, we would definitely return here.

Shower felt small and there was no counter in the bathroom - just a sink - so it felt a bit cramped for 5 people.

Pretty location. Rooms appear to be well insulated because sounds of the restaurant and a private party never reached me once I was inside my room. Staff was terrific - especially the housekeeping ladies.

Complimentary breakfast was a disappointment. Love the idea of burritos but not spicey green chili first thing in the am. Several items in the room were broken, a lamp, electrical outlet in the kitchen area. Kitchen could use more spoons. Coffee machine in the kitchen was okay but no creamer was disappointing.

The place was very peaceful, nestled in trees nearby the Sant Cruz Mountains. The front desk staff were super friendly and the lobby was very welcoming with comfy couches and a fireplace. They offer $10 off your room rate if you forego maid service, to save money on washing towels because of the drought, but only if you book through them and ask about it. I inquired at the front desk when I saw the sign and they couldn't change it because I'd come thru this site, but they gave me $10 in vending credit instead. On site laundry was great. I would stay again, but would go for a suite as those looked more spacious with full living rooms and kitchens.

It was good. Internet was a bit slow and should be updated.

the site was a really clean, well maintained complex. Rooms were clean and spacious and had doors onto a balcony. Felt it was good value for a family. Nice pool too though didnt use as passing through.

Shame that we didnt have access to restaurant facilities for breakfast but were given a takeaway which was just about edible... felt a bit mid-covid...

I liked the location, the structure and floor plan of the hotel room. I enjoyed the comfy bed, bedroom mirror and big bedroom vanity. I love how spacious the hotel was and has a patio. I enjoy the wide tv screen. The room with a living room was fabulous.

I had problems with the room key card... not the first time when i checked in. It was after when i brought in my luggage and things the key card didn't work. I went back twice and it still didn't work. It seemed like the door was stuck because since the key card didn't work, i was still able to push the door open while hold the handle down with force. So my key card issues didn't get resolved. i would of stayed another day and night if i didn't have key card issues.

it was great. we had our dog with us and no problem. staff was great and would stop to say hi to our dog all the time. beautiful property and there was a loud group next to us and didn’t hear anything in the room from them the only time you heard anything was we you would go outside. next time we are in town with or without our dog we will stay there again

wish the restaurant was open and it wasn’t a grab bag for breakfast but it’s Covid time so totally understandable

We really enjoyed our stay at Los Gatos Lodge. The lodge is very much set up like a 90s condo complex and has a great vibe to it. The location is also amazing and is only about a two minute drive to downtown Los Gatos (or a nice half hour walk across). Great restaurants bars and cafes nearby. This was the perfect place for a small getaway or for a last hotel before SFO airport. Also the breakfast was restricted to due Covid but they gave us a great little takeaway pouch with a breakfast burrito yogurt and fruit juice which was perfect for us. Also cool little pool and areas to run around for kids - but was very quiet in the room.

While everything was great and I would definitely stay again we did encounter slight hickups at the checkin. The gentleman checking us in was a bit short with us and despite saying the property was booked in advance online asked for payment - which two weeks later resulted in us getting double charged. Also, when we asked for any recommendations he brushed us off saying he doesn’t like to eat out so didn’t have recommendations for us - reasonable but still not very helpful or expected from someone who works at a hotel. The rest of our stay was great and none of these issues should be a reason not to book - rather a warning for bookers to double check and the lodge to take note.

After a first night's difficulty sleeping because of a neighboring room TV on constantly, the management moved us to a quieter "studio" room which was much larger with kitchenette and sitting area.

No complaints.

It was conveniently located as the parking lot was the rendezvous point for a group I was meeting with. Not much nearby though, definitely not in walking distance. I didn't get a chance to use the pool or the patio, but I loved how spacious the room was. I also liked that they have a very comprehensive to-go breakfast, with a breakfast burrito, granola bars, an orange juice, and more. They even gave it to me the night before since I was leaving so early the next morning.

I just wish I could have stayed longer and used the pool. Also it wasn't a good area for walking around - not because it was dangerous due to crime, just a very car-centric area. The on-site restaurant also was closed, it seemed, despite being listed online.
