The location was perfect - Chinatown and North Beach offer many great spots (bars, cafe Trieste, Sentinel Building), it's within walking distance to piers. Great vibe of the streets. Our room was located on fifth floor oriented into parking lot - which means away from noisy traffic, but still with really nice views of the city. Late check-in wasn't an issue and they still had a parking space for us. The room was spacious, AC available, the bed was really comfortable. We were allowed to park in the hotel area even after check-out, so we had more time to explore the city with free parking.

The weather was colder during our stay and it reflected on the room temperature as well. Heating/AC was really loud, so we kept it on just for a while. Walls are quite thin, we heard our neighbours (but it was bearable)

Very friendly, helpful staff. Great facilities - after days on the road I managed to wash and dry a bunch of clothes. Super location - just where China Town meets Little Italy, and very easy to walk to most of the must see locations - we also felt very safe staying and walking around the location in general (also great for restaurants and take-outs). The rooms were comfy and spacious, and we had three nights great sleep. My husband is disabled and we had no problems accessing the hotel and rooms. Plus, free parking on site!! This really was a great find that I would definitely recommend staying here - if we come back to San Francisco I would not want to stay anywhere else.

All great and there was absolutely nothing to grumble about.

Great location right between Chinatown and Little Italy / North Beach - tons of bars and restaurants around, and still a quiet room! Good value for money, especially if you take into account that parking is free (normally USD 40 per day in that location). The hotel even allowed to remained parked until the afternoon of the day that we checked out, and staff was very helpful with re-parking (partly valet parking).

Breakfast not included, which is not a problem as there are many options nearby, but it would have been helpful to have some plates or forks/spoons available (as we bought cereal and milk, but then also had to buy our own disposable breakfast bowls and spoons) The coffee machine did not work the second day (although it worked the first day) Furniture is a bit old and dated (but still comfortable and it was kept very clean) Toilet made a strange noise when flushing (but did its job)

Our primary concern staying in SF these days is SAFETY, and we were very relieved with these accommodations because we felt very safe. The location not only felt safe but also was excellent - glad there were late night places to eat open since it's in Chinatown! The other guests were friendly - seemed like a lot of international traveler types. The included parking was also key. The room was very clean and in excellent shape, and the staff were very professional and kind. For what you get, the price is higher than what you would get in other places, for SF I felt it was very reasonable. I plan to book here again next time we are overnight in SF.

The parking was pretty safe from SF notorious car break ins. The room was very good for an older motel; I have been driving by the Royal Pacific Motor Inn since the 1960's! There was a refrigerator in the room which I wasn't expecting and an ice machine on the ground floor. The elevators all worked and were fast, the heat worked, and they gave you plenty of towels. It's right in the heart of Chinatown and Little Italy so you have a huge choice in eateries. I can recommend the Dim Sum Bistro up the street from the Inn, really good inexpensive eats. That's take out. Lai Hong Lounge is 2 1/2 blocks away if you want good sit down Dim Sum, its a long time favorite of locals (but pricey & crowded.)

Nothing really, I wish I could stay here more often.

Great location in Chinatown. Within walking distance of several of the tourist attractions along the wharf and right in the middle of Chinatown. Just go ahead and walk as you will spend the same amount of time if you drive since you will need to drive around looking for parking... which you will then pay for. Complimentary hotel parking was a huge plus and a main reason I chose this hotel. Room was clean, staff was friendly. Room is a bit dated, but that was ok. Not overly quiet, but it is an urban motel, so some street noise was expected. I felt safe at this hotel. Would stay here again.

The value brings for the money is unbeatable! If you look for luxury, it's not for you. I rated the location based on what they say you would get (on the website) and what you actually get. It's china town, so amazing food opportunities. It's near downtown, close to the piers, so basically, you don't need the car to move around. They offer you parking. I really recommend it!

It's a bit noisy. But you already expect this if you choose to stay overnight in the heart of the city. :)

Excellent location right between chinatown and little italy. Easily accessed by MUNI buses. Very large room, great big TV to get back to at the end of a long day touring out. Everything was in good working condition and we enjoyed our stay a lot

The room was a little noisy. One could hear other guests in the corridors even when they were not speaking loud. Also sounds from the streets (there is a kindergarten across from the motel) - so might disturb sleepins. We were disappointed to find no fridge in the room.

You can't beat the location of Royal Pacific Motor Inn for being right in Chinatown and within walking distance to the City Light Bookstore, Little Italy and even Lombard Street was not that far away (0.9 mile). There were four of us and we didn't feel unsafe at any point while walking around day or night (thought it was going to be bad with the homeless situation). The complimentary parking (up to a certain size) was a tremendous value and the receptionist was very kind to let us leave car there for a while longer after we had checked out. There is a nice view to the Bay Bridge and some downtown high rises from the top 5th floor. Beds were comfy and the round table with two club chairs in the room were a nice touch. The area where sink/closet/bathroom door were located was very tight but we managed. Overall, we were happy with staying there and would return when we visit SF again in the future.

We stayed there for 2 nights in Sept22. Location is good, safe with free parking. Nearby bus stations and other attractions too. Room was clean. It's very basic with little amenities. We got the room on the back side not facing the road so no noise issue. No microwave provided but the receptionist staff was very helpful to help us to reheat our food. No air conditioning but in Sept the temperature was cold and they provided fan in case you need it. There is a Walgreens right around the corner and Chinese restaurants nearby. I would stay here again since we had a good experience.

It is still a bit pricey for the quality of motel, but considering the location it is a good deal. The room is basic and dated but clean.
