(This was a one-night stay as we were taking the 7:30am ferry to St Barths) Prior to our visit, all of my email communications with Alicia's Inn were answered promptly and courteously. On arrival at the Inn, we were met at the office by the most likeable, lovely lady - Barbara - that I have had the pleasure to meet in a very long time! She registered us quickly, got us set up in our room and made sure we had everything we needed, and then gave us the shortest/easiest/safest directions for walking to the ferry at 6:00 am! The room had 2 twin beds which were quite comfortable, a nice TV, a table etc. All we needed for one night! I would definitely stay there again on my way to St Barths! NOTE: Don't be alarmed by the long entryway; the building has entry/exit security. Also note, the rooms are on the second floor. There is a stairway at the end of the hall. There are restaurants nearby. We ate at The Greenhouse Restaurant by the Ferry Dock as it was open from 11am to 9pm - food was very good!

Room is very clean and well maintained. Very quiet even though it is located in downtown. Staff is super nice and friendly. Easy location to stroll in historic downtown Philipsburg.

The hallway light should be automatically turned off during night since light will make rooms brighter during sleep time.

The nice ladies at the reception were very kind, accommodating and serviceminded. The room was clean, well furnished and made me feel at home. I really enjoyed the interior design.

No elevator. And many stairs up to reception room. I would have appreciated information about this in the description of the hotel by Booking.com. Noice from outside. There was disturbing noice at night but fortunately I had earplugs. The fridge was noicy.

We enjoyed the close proximity to the main shopping streets. There are several restaurants close by which offer a wide variety of foods which exhibit the country's boiling poy of culture. The staff are very friendly and they made us feel right at home. Unlike other places that we have stayed at before, the environmemt is very quiet at night and peaceful. It feels like a home away from home.

To be honest, we cannot think of anything we did not like about the place. For the price we paid, it was definitely worth it.

Excellent location in the heart of Philipsburg, minutes away from the beach. Local bus stops right outside the hotel. Clean room. Nice size. AC works well. There's a fridge. Very basic room, but for a 2 star hotel it's fine. Kind staff.

The crickets outside are extremely loud at night, but very characteristic of St Martin. I thought it was a broken alarm going off, but it's the crickets! The rooms don't have a view as they are sandwiched between two buildings.

It was very, very clean and the staff were so friendly and helpful! The location is very convenient for walking around the community. It’s close to restaurants and shops. We had an excellent dinner at Bold Buddah (recommended by Alicia’s Inn). From Alicia’s Inn, it was a convenient walk the following morning to reach the marina to catch our sailboat cruise. After checking out, the helpful staff let us leave our luggage in their office until it was closer to our time to leave the island. We would highly recommend Alicia’s Inn!

Philipsburg is mostly geared to cruise travellers; however its nice to find some normalcy on Backstreet, where the real people are and to have a simple but nice and welcoming Inn, with exceptional ladies running it. I found all that I needed for a couple of days of work on the island.

The few quirks I have mentioned at checkout - like not enough power outlets and too much light in the room at night.

Barbara and Marlene were very helpful, friendly and a joy to meet during our stay. The facility and room were very clean, comfortable and safe. The room was large and had a hair dryer and coffee maker. They supplied coffee and tea. We stayed there a night before and a night after our cruise. After the cruise we were very early, and expected to have to wait until 4 to check-in. However Barbara offered to have us store our luggage in the front office and text us when a room was ready. This was a hugh help given I wasn't feeling the best and just wanted to rest. She wanted to do whatever she could to make our stay pleasant and easy.

The location is extremely convenient on Back Street, easily accessible to the beach, nearby supermarkets and restaurants. The room was very clean and for a single traveler the size is more than enough if you don't stay in the room much. All the necessary room facilities are provided. Although in the centre of Philipsburg, it was very quiet at night and I felt safe. There are only stairs going up to the second floor where the reception and my room were located but it didn't bother me. Just a note: There was no automatic daily housekeeping service which wasn't an issue for my short stay but for longer stays it could be an issue, for example to take out the trash, replenish the coffee supply, change the towels etc.

The hotel is in a very central location yet it is very quiet. It was one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. Extremely friendly staff. Many nice restaurants near by. If you go outside the hotel and cross the street and turn to the left, walk about have a block, there is a wonderful Fresh Bistro (The French Touch) for breakfast. There FRESH pressed juices are amazing.

Beware, there is no elevator. A few steps are manageable.
