I like the cleanliness of the room. Also liked the location of the hotel being close to everything.
We only got one face towel even after the first day. There were no information provided on the hotel amenities. Did not realize there was a wading pool. The second floor and the roof balcony information were never transmitted. There is no way of communicating after we checked out. We may have left a camera and the contact us feature in their website does not work.

A continental breakfast was included in the room rate. We had a choice of several Mexican breads in addition to receiving a plate of fresh fruit and fresh squeezed juice. Really enjoyed the unique style of the hotel. The rooms access an interior area that is well lit from skylights above. It is wonderfully quiet for sleeping since there is no street noise. The location was exceptional.
The only thing I didn't like was the very firm bed and pillows.

Beautifully clean, very attractive interior. The bed was very comfortable. The complimentary continental breakfast was nice, with fresh-squeezed juice. Located on a walking street so no traffic noise or pollution coming in. The staff was very helpful and nice to deal with.
The plunge pool and the roof area were out or order or not available, which was too bad. The location is great if you are anxious to be in the center of activity in the city, but the many loud parades might not be so welcome for some people. We also would have liked a bath mat.

La Catrina is perfectly situated on the Alcala. In the midst of everything but My room was perfectly situated & very quiet. This is my second stay & I enjoyed it immensely. The hotel is spotlessly clean, room was large and very comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious. The staff were very helpful. I love visiting the art gallery which is part of the hotel. I shall definitely stay there again! I highly recommend!

We had a very nice stay at La Catrina de Alcala. The staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. Large, spacious room and bathroom. Large smart TV. Well working AC unit. Room & bathroom was well lit with both natural light and light fixtures. The room had everything we needed and was comfortable enough for a six night stay. The common areas were were nice and well furnished. Fantastic location and room was surprisingly quiet for it's location on a busy street. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed in La Catrina de Alcala for 9 nights and found the service and cleanliness to be outstanding! Victor S, provided warm hospitality, whether checking us in or serving the daily breakfast: delicious fresh fruit and juice, delectable pastries, and coffee. You can see by his attentiveness that he takes great pride in ensuring that hotel guests enjoy their stay. Oscar made and served delicious pizza on the rooftop terrace, which is a fantastic option for evenings when you want enjoy the fresh air and watch the street vendors and tourist as they wander Calle Macedonio Alcala below. Rocio provided us with essential information about transportation options to the outlying villages where we liked to wander markets and visit artisan homes. She was always so knowledgeable and friendly, Our room was very spacious and immaculately clean! White walls, white bathroom tiles, and glass shower were spotless. Don't worry, the room wasn't a sterile looking white box! In the colorful Mexican style, it had warm crimson accent furniture and locally woven textiles/pillows on the beds. The traditional herringbone brick ceiling and old world doors blend tradition with modernity. The location is two blocks from the Zocalo, which is always an enjoyable place to visit just to people watch. A few blocks beyond the Zocalo are the Benito Juarez and 20 of November indoor markets. They are not be be missed for first time visitors to Oaxaca, as they introduce you to the amazing variety of delicious foods and crafts of the region. I will most definitely book this hotel again for the WARM and HELPFUL hospitality, CLEANLINESS, and LOCATION!
I would suggest providing a refrigerator in room or access to ice (from purified water).

Excellent hotel! I researched for days before selecting La Catrina de Alcala, reading reviews on hotel sites and Google Reviews. This is one of the only Oaxaca hotels located in the center of town that had fantastic reviews regarding safety, room size and comfort. My experience matched or exceeded this! Check-in and check-out was simple, with friendly staff who greeted us with a shot of mezcal (special thanks to Rosio and Victor!). Staff provided helpful information to navigate town and booked our 5am taxi to the airport. We felt safe and comfortable in the spacious room and enjoyed the beautiful decorations around the hotel. There is a safe in the room and a cute window balcony overlooking the indoor water stream. Cozy feel with friendly staff. Highly recommend! FYI - Uber is not available in Oaxaca, therefore I recommend utilizing the hotel to reserve transportation.

All rooms were excellent. Our room was spacious and the bed and linens very comfortable. Our windows open onto the courtyard self it's not as hairy as I would like but you are in Oaxaca and I suppose a straight facing window would be very noisy.
The breakfast included was just continental … So some days we would pay extra for eggs etc.

Location, location, location! La Catrina is located just around the corner of the Zocalo and within walking distance to many top-notched restaurants but in a quieter part of town. Everyone was friendly and had great hospitality, from the manager down to the bellhop. We were chatting with the bellhop, and he pointed us to one of the best dining experiences we had in Oaxaca. Although located in a no-car zone of the historical area, it is less than a block away from a car zone street. Our room was spacious, and the complimentary breakfast was continental (fruits, bread, and coffee). Still, their a la carte choices were plenty and excellent as well.
Nothing. Everything was great. No complaints.

This property was a last minute find as we approached the Day of the Dead festivities. And what a great find it was. The property is everything you expect and more. Spacious rooms, clean, comfortable, location is central, very good wifi, staff is amazing and the breakfast was fulfilling. We tried to extend but of course the property was booked solid. Our stay was extremely pleasant.
