Hotel Casa Antigua

We were told on check-in that the previous guests had broken the toilet in the room and therefore our room was unavailable. The staff had booked us an alternative room of the same standard in a hotel one block away. We were delighted that the team did this instead of cancelling our room. With it being a very busy time in Oaxaca for Día de Muertos, we really appreciated the extra care and attention of the staff as it would have been difficult to source alternative accommodation. The member of the reception team even walked us to the new hotel and assisted with our luggage.

The location, staff and accomodations were excellent and exceeded my expectations. There was a small issue with the parking but the owner resolved it immediately! The breakfast was also superb I would come back here again.

Great location, beautiful facility and close to the center of everything but on a quieter street. The terrace was lovely for morning yoga or a glass of wine. The staff were great and the breakfast was great too.

We had an interior room that had a window that faced an inner courtyard but not facing outside. I liked the solitude and the high-ceilings with exposed beams but for some people, not having a window looking outside may be a negative. However, the facility is like an old house but with modern conveniences

The property is centrally located. Walking distance to everything! Yet it’s away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists. Outstanding food and customer service at the restaurant. Loved that the hotel had complimentary ice and clean drinking water machines to refill water bottles. The property is kept spotless! Super clean!

there is really nothing I did not like. The only thing I wish it would’ve had is a pool! We were there during very hot days and some other other hotels we heard about had pools. It would’ve been refreshing. Other than that, it’s a great hotel.

I liked the historic architecture and the location in the historic center. The room was very spacious with handsome cabinets, a beautiful marble bathroom, and generous complimentary toiletries and bottled water. The bed was very comfortable, and the linens were lovely. A very nice breakfast was included.

Our room was not ready until a half hour after the check in time. The registration staff didn't speak much English. We didn't care for the monotonous music playing constantly in the courtyard.

- There can be quite some noise coming from the patio in the evening and at night. For one of the nights, a man was shouting very loud for a while, he was probably drunk, it was around 3am which prevented me from sleeping. I mentioned it to the staff the day after and they didn’t follow up on it at all which was disappointing. - The bathroom/toilet door is a glass door so it isn’t the best for intimacy

Excellent location, comfortable, clean, front desk staff helpful. Offers different options for breakfast on bottom level. Areas to relax in on each level, nice views from rooftop. Within walking distance to everything; walking streets, markets, sites. A range of restaurants with options of $$. This Hotel doesn’t organise tours and suggested to use a tour company a block over.

Worth noting if you are booking a reservation with breakfast and want to book tours! The day tours usually leave between 8am - 9am. Breakfast at Hotel is from 8- 3 BUT the staff start setting tables up at 8am. You will not get food until after this is done. Makes for a very rushed breakfast and start to the day.

Colonial hotel with arched courtyard. Excellent location a block from walking street and near the Zocolo. Easy access to everything in Centro Historico. Full breakfast, prepared to order. Spacious room cleaned daily with nice toiletries.

Reception was not helpful about orienting guests. When I asked for a map of the town, they looked like they didn’t know what I was talking about. Not helpful about planning excursions. There seemed to be ambiguity about the cost of the breakfast. Be sure to stick with the American plan. Otherwise, they charge you the full amount of a new breakfast.

The room was really nice, in general this hotel is really pretty. The rooftop terrace is just lovely. The jacuzzi was great :D They helped us to call a cab to the airport. Location is excellent.

Staff kind of looked down on us, like we couldn't afford to stay there or something. We only stayed one night before leaving the city and they told my husband there were missing some cuttlerly and 2 sauce boats, like if we had stolen them, some minutes later they found out the same hotel staff had already picked them up from the room. Hotel is great, but customer service may improve.

Super lovely staff. We arrived about 9.30am in the morning and since our room was ready, they already let us in (a blessing after getting up early for a flight)! There is everything you could need in the room and the beds are big and comfy. The location you cannot beat.

Make sure you are fully comfortable if travelling in a couple, there’s no such thing as bathroom privacy. The standard rooms have no windows so it gets quite dark - having said that, just go and enjoy the brightly coloured Oaxaca City!
