InterContinental Lyon - Hotel Dieu, an IHG Hotel

Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice. Staff were most attentive and couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Decor was superb. The room was very comfortable, with everything you could possibly need, catered for. The hotel is in a perfect location, close to sights, restaurants and bars. We were also impressed by the gift of wine and chocolate.

Although very clean, there was an unpleasant smell in our shower and by our day of departure, it seemed that the toilet was leaking. We did report the problem when we checked out. Although a little disappointing, it did not spoil our experience.

It was one of the best hotels we've ever been to! It is a beautiful, huge, old building, very nicely renovated. The staff is extremely helpful and very polite and friendly. The room was clean and very chic, had all the amenities. We were welcomed by free water, chocolate, a bottle of champagne (junior suite). The bar is superb! Such a beautiful ambience. Breakfast was very good, lots to choose from and very attentive staff. It was a short but very relaxing stay, we felt welcomed, respected and valued. Keep up the good work.

Beautiful modern renovation on a historic property. Rooms are updated and modern- bright and comfortable. Staff is great- responsive- concierge staff was superb.

Rooms facing the river or town houses with a small entry and a large flight of stairs to get downstairs to the bedroom and bath. I would’ve preferred a single level rather than having to climb stairs Every time is it I had to answer the door.

This is a new hotel that opened in 2019 in an old hospital. the historic building is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are lovely, we upgraded to a rather large room with a separate living room. The location can't be beat. If you walk out the back of the hotel you will find several options for restaurants, shopping and cafes. The bar in the hotel is breathtaking, have some drinks and a light snack under the dome and ask the server about the history of the space. Overall it was quite comfortable and well appointed.

they have no smoking area which I found unusual for a hotel in France. We stayed at over 8 hotels over 3 weeks and this was the only space that didn't offer space for smoking. You have to smoke outside on the street in front of the hotel. there is no seating and the street is loud and busy. My husband is a very polite smoker so he kept having to dodge the wakers to make sure he wasn't blowing smoke their way. You do have the ability to walk to the shopping area and smoke at at any of the near by cafes and restaurants.

Hotel is part of a center with multiple independent stores. Our stay was pleasant, and management just needs to upgrade attention to details to earn their 5*. Nobody to carry our luggage and porter absent (nobody to give us our car keys). Local restaurants should focus on Lyon’s rich gastronomy to differentiate from other venues.

Luxurious modern hotel in the former Hotel Dieu hospital. Super clean rooms, comfy beds, great rainfal shower, spacious bathroom and lovely toiletries. Amazing café under the Great Dome. Many shops and restaurants in the vicinity. Attentive staff, doormen are so friendly and attentive.

There was quite a bit of morning knocking noise in the corridor, the room was not made up despite having the sign on the door for several hours -- we only stayed 2 nights, so it was not much of a problem, other than at the price one would expect that service.

To be honest everything was perfect except breakfast as we are Muslim we didn't find a lot of choices The location of hotel was amazing because it's located in downtown and you can find all stuff and tourism places were near the hotel, so if i come again to Lyon that hotel will be the first choice to me.

Everything. Everything exceeded expectations. It is super well located. We were very warmly welcomed by the staff. As we were checking in, one of the staff went away and brought back a small soft toy for my toddler. That made him super happy. The staff were all smiley, looks happy to be there and very professional. Always trying to offer help. The facade of the hotel and the interior design was beyond amazing. Our room was so comfortable, everything was great. The rain shower, the bathtub, toiletries, bed, linen, lights, everything was really 5 stars. We had been in France for a 5 weeks vacation, and this was THE BEST hotel we stayed at. Though the price is slightly on the higher side, but it was value for money. We stayed in other similarly priced hotels in France and other parts of the world, but this hotel definitely ranked amongst the top.

My stay was too short here. I didn't want to leave this hotel or Lyon :(

Beautiful building, fantastic bar, lovey courtyards, professional staff who provided every need, top location.

While the room was elegant and well appointed, the air conditioner made a constant noise and the bathroom and complimentary toiletries were not up to usual Intercontinental standards. The bathroom door was poorly made, the lotion could have been of better quality, the fixtures (toilet paper holder for example) were loose.

The staff were very friendly, professional, and helpful, the location is great and the quality of this restored building is exceptional

Unable to smoke outside in the grounds of the hotel, which is ridiculous, and forced to smoke at the front of the hotel in the rain on the street. This policy needs complete reviewing so that a smoking area within the grounds is allocated. This staff did assist with this problem for which I'm grateful
