Hotel Le Royal Lyon - MGallery

First of all I would mention the atmosphere, including great lyoneise style and design, very cozy and comfortable place. Location is in the right heart of lyon. Service was outstanding, especially by the young staff, they were just wonderful.

Everything was perfect. Can't think of anything I would change 😀

We actually booked a second night at the Hotel Royal and the Hotel is always our first choice in Lyon. Centrally located in the Place de Bellecour which is within easy reach of the Metro and the bus line from main line railway station. The staff are wonderful and will go out of their way to help and give information on the main attractions in Lyon. I also have to mention the breakfast, it has to be one of the best in the Hotels we have stayed in, fresh produce all round and a lovely display, I can highly recommend the chef made omelette, superb. This time I went for the junior Suite upgrade and it was well worth it.

I really can't think of anything in the Hotel that I didn't like. If there was anything we would noto back, we usually go there two trips a year and every stay is lovely.

This was our first stay here and I had booked a Junior Suite. the room was fantastic with a balcony, very large and beautifully decorated. The highlight however was the Bed. The best I have ever slept in. incredible. Breakfast was really nice and the whole experience was great Would love to know what mattress and topper we slept on, would definitely look to buy one for home

It's a bit of a walk to the old town (about 15 mins) which is where we have stayed in the past. That said the hotel is right outside the metro so fine for getting around. No parking at the hotel which means you need to either find a parking space and walk or pay the 29 euro for the hotel to valet park your car.

We were very pleased with with the accommodations. The concierge was extremely attentive as we had a problem that he worked on for a few hours to try and help us make arrangements. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The location was perfect. All the staff were very friendly.

On two nights I was awoken by groups of people chanting and yelling in the nearby street. Some of the staff were trainees and didn't know some of the answers to local questions, although they were very pleasant and tried to be helpful. Once we asked for a call to our room with some information and it never was made.

The room was small and the furniture was in a bad condition for a 5 star hotel. As extraservices they have only a minibar and a small bar, but they request guarantee a card, or 200 euro cash :( The minibar offer was very light, (very few options, 2 beers, 2 juices, 2 waters and some peanuts). The personnel at the reception and breakfast was very cold and unfriendly. Not a good 5 star experience at all. You pay just for the location.

We have stayed at the Royal several times and have always had a lovely experience, the beds and linen are exceptional and gurantee a great night's sleep. Breakfast is always superb and is now one of our highlights of our stay. Only one comment on the breakfast room, I did notice the fixtures and fittings had a lot of cobwebs and dust, needs a little TLC. We are already looking forward to our stay in the Newyear.

I did have a little run in with a member of staff basically she couldn't understand my French, she never spoke or made eye contact again with me during our stay. Not good customer service from a senior staff member.

The location. There is simply no better location in Lyon. Walking distance to major attractions. Across the street from the tourism office, so if you take a tour it will probably leave from there. The staff is wonderful, attention to detail and personalized service. Little details that make you feel welcome.

My particular room was listed as courtyard view, but faced a wall instead. It was also in the first floor, making it really dark

Parking and the bathtub in our bathroom was very dangerous to get in and out of. I hope you replace it with a shower.

A very nice and wellrenovated historic building, placed in the very heart of the center of the city,tastefully decorated,with a lot of charles.The staff was amazing,very attentive and everytime at your service!The breakfast was a real experience-the room was wonderful decorated,the music in undertone,the staff kind and well prepared and no last the food was very tasty and various!

În our room,a tiny detail-in the bathroom the access to the bathtub was a little difficult!

the hotel is ideally located for walking or public/taxi transportation to anywhere in the city. the rooms are decorated beautifully but our room was much smaller than we expected. The breakfast was exceptional and the room in which it was served is charming and delightful.

We would have preferred a larger and better laid-out room. There was insufficient space to put things or open the suitcases.
