Novotel Bayeux

Location was perfect, being just outside Bayeaux. 5 minutes by car to town centre and museums. Hotel had good facilities. Free parking onsite was very beneficial.. Good sized room with ensuite batfh with shower . Kettle for making hot drinks. Plenty of electric sockets.. Good level of cleanliness.. Free Wifi.

Double bed was badly positioned with about 2 metres to spare on one side but less than 0.5 metres on the other side,! It was very difficult to get in and out on that side. Matress harder than we would like, but maybe that's down to personal taste. Continental breakfast was overpriced at 20 Euros per person. Make sure you keep your receipt handy if you pay prior to departure date. The gent on Reception iwhen we checked out nsisted we owed money for a breakfast and i had to go through my luggage to find my receipt from the night before, proving we had paid in full. It delayed our departure which was not ideal considering we had an early ferry to catch.

Easy access hotel with car parking. Very friendly and helpful staff, good size and comfortable rooms. The hotel is about 15 -20 minute walk to the city centre, so easy to see the Cathedral, Tapestry and beautiful city. The Museum is reasonably close too. From Bayeux it is about 20-30 minutes drive to Caen and the Normandy beaches for further sightseeing.

Bathrooms have shower/bath which is quite high, so may not suit young children nor the more elderly. No mini bar in the room, no bottled water, although these are not a priority.

Comfortable room and beds, clean and fun outdoor pool made it a favorite of our teen son, and they had the best breakfast of any place we stayed in Europe! The staff was very friendly and helpful, too! The whole experience was one of our best of our entire trip!

I hadn't realized that it was located on the outskirts of Bayeux and therefore not as easy to walk to the city center for us older folks, but the taxi was very reasonable and the drivers friendly and informative.

Reception Sied was VERY attentive to our checkin process...as was all other reception staff handling our needs during our stay. Also the the staff that handled the morning mini-breakfast delivering to our room was GREAT...VERY timely.

We were disappointed that the evening meal service was not offered to all guests on nights that there was catering made available to large groups???...perhaps offer an earlier dining time/reservations for non-group guests , and limit the menu to what you are serving the group?? In addition, do research on your location choice...especially if you don't have a car - you will taxi everywhere from the Novotels location.

The variety of selections was good. They provided choices for ppl who don’t eat pork or red meat(turkey).Hostess was very friendly and greeted us warmly so early in the morning. Syed one of the front desk person was very helpful when we had trouble with the TV. He came to our room to make the adjustment. Very warm and accommodating. Very good face for your hotel.

Your front desk person,Macho needs to improve his ppl skills. Upon returning from a tour when we entered the lobby he was very abrupt and spoke to us in a rude tone.I would have said more but I decided to wait for the survey. He was not a good face for your hotel at least on that day.

Very convenient to visit outside locations. Convenient to visit my Cousins grave in the Bayeux War Grave Cemetery. Very good pool at back of hotel. The king size beds were very comfortable The fridge in the room was very useful to keep our drinks and lunchtime pate cool.

The baths were to high. My wife was unable to get into the bath to shower. A walk in shower would be better especially being elderly.The meals and drinks were expensive compared to local Restaurants. No world news in English, TV all French Stations which is no problem but would be good to pick up BBC or CNN news. I was unsure why the British flag on the roundabout outside the Hotel was missing??

Location, staff all very helpful from desk clerk to restaurant staff; and room was spacious and very clean. The central A/C could not be adjusted lower for just our one room so the desk clerk lent us a fan instead which helped. Pastries on arrival complimentary and ref inside room with comp water bottle all perfect little touches. Hot and cold buffet breakfast was very good with a selection of delish locally made cuts of meat. Overall really enjoyed our stay here. Dinner was excellent with the roasted beef and mushrooms chicken with veggies and rice and a suggested local beer named Baya was awesome!

A/C could not be fine tuned to be cooler inside the room although windows can be opened (but it rains and lots of pigeons flying outside.may come in) yet desk clerk lent us fan which helped a lot! Thank you!

I Traveled to area with 2 kids 9 and 11 having a caravan booked on one of the sites further down the road which could accommodate us earlier These guys where fantastic after along day and night travelling they got a room ready for us to get our heads down for a while cannot praise them enough

Pool wasn't open but thats only grumble but it isn't usually for another month as too cold

It was nice to take a dip in the pool. Breakfast offered a good variety of foods to suit everyone. I lost a necklace during my stay which had great sentimental value and the staff were extremely helpful in trying to find it's location. It turned out to have fallen off my neck at the restaurant we were at the previous evening. Staff phoned on my behalf and I was thrilled to have found it.

Nothing, it was comfortable and a pleasant 10 minute walk into the centre of Bayeux.

We enjoyed the easy access to all the landing beaches and Museums

We were disappointed that on several days our room was not serviced. It would be nice to have umbrellas around the pool, too hot to sit out there at times without shade
