Grand Hotel du Luxembourg

We overall atmosphere of the hotel was wonderful. The location was walking distance to shops and restaurants. Our room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were all so kind, patient and very welcoming. They were always happy to answer our questions and help us.

I wish the tv was a smart tv so we could have had Netflix or a streaming service. The parking was a pain and the area to park is very small and difficult to maneuver.

The hotel is really nice and authentic. Great location, close proximity to all the shops/restaurants. Coffee machine and water provided in the room. The spa area was very quiet at the times that we were there and the pool/bar are open till past 22:00. The pool is heated and the hot tub has different settings so it's a great experience. Staff were lovely and very helpful.

We didn't expect that you had to pay for parking so that was surprising. Anyway it appeared that on street parking was free Sunday to Monday 9AM and we used that, we then moved the car to a carpark next door which was 3 euros for 5+ hrs as it worked out cheaper for us for the time that we were in Bayeux.

Room was really good,beds where really comfortable and toilet and bathrooms were really clean. The hotel was very clean right through from reception to hallways pool area, we did not use the restaurant but had bar snacks which were good. The hotel had lively old feature which made it really spectacular.

Struggled with language as I don't speak French but the staff tried there best. Wasn't very happy that everywhere was closed on Sunday and monday so it was difficult to find places to eat.

The rooms were lovely and well appointed just a little on the small side but not an issue. Staff were helpful and friendly. The pool and spa a definite bonus. We were a mix of adults and teenagers all felt happy and comfortable in the hotel. the breakfast was good but I feel a little expensive at 17 euros pp. The hotel was in a great position in Bayeux to explore and walk to all the main points of interest.

The location, the staff. We came back one evening with a baguette and the young woman at the front desk asked if I wanted a plate. She then went to the kitchen and gave me a plate, forks and napkins for our indoor picnic. So thoughtful. The location is perfect for exploring both Bayeux and the surrounding areas.

Towels could have been a little thicker.

Breakfast was exceptionally good for a small hotel - great selection and very fresh/delicious food and drink

There is almost nothing to criticize. The rooms are on the small side but very well appointed. I might recommend some non-slip strips be placed in the shower/tub as it is a bit tricky to step in and out of. Other than those minor points, it was absolutely perfect for our family.

Our experience here was superb. We were greeted warmly, had a good experience with the helpful staff throughout and the hotel facilities were great for us - parking was very convenient, the children used the pool, the 2 rooms we had were well-sized and were clean and modern. The hotel location was also great - the historic centre of the town was a 3-5 minute walk away yet it was also easy to get out of town by car to see local attractions.

The hotel was charming and beautiful. We had a mishap (on our end) with the reservation as I thought this hotel had AC. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us to move us to a room we would be more comfortable. The location was an easy walking distance to the city center. The pool was an added bonus that we did not find in any other hotel we stayed in France.

The attic rooms are very warm in the middle of the Summer. If you are booking during the warmer months I would recommend upgrading your room. Once we moved rooms we were very comfortable with the windows open.

Perfect location, lovely staff, great breakfast. Clean and modern room. Bonus of a pool right in the centre!

The room was hot (No AC) and a little small for 3 adults (but two of the adults were 6ft4 and 6ft3 so understandable). The hot tub was a bit dirty. Otherwise loved it!
