Hôtel Le Bayeux

Really friendly and helpful staff, very relaxed atmosphere, good sized rooms which were very comfortable. Air con in each room. excellent location about 5 minute walk from the Cathedral. Free parking on the street outside.

The hotel is old and could do with some painting and new carpets. Toilet wouldn't flush properly and breakfast was a bit chaotic as it's laid out in a very small area with everyone reaching over each other to access the food (maybe it was just particularly busy when we stayed). However these are minor things and wouldn't put us off staying again. It was full of charm and character.

The location is perfect in this small historic town. We walked everywhere except when going and coming from the train station. Most of the rooms were on the first floor in a beautiful old building that has been renovated into a hotel.

Just be aware this building is not airconditioned. Everyone leaves the windows open at nigh t and it cools off but if it is VERY hot, it will be a problem. Breakfast is NOT included in the price but we had a great meal down the street. We didn't wnat to commit to 14 euros each for their breakfast without knowing what would be offered.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great value at a great location. Room was cleaned daily, almost excessively, with new towels provided and a change of sheets at least one of the days. Cannot be more happy with the cleanliness. Airconditioning worked well, and window allowed for venting (did not try to open it fully). Hotel was locked upon our arrival in early evening, but the receptionist was just a phone call away, turned up expeditiously, and gave us information about Bayeux and walked us up to our room. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

While I found the firmer pillows excellent, my travel partner found them a little too hard. We tried the breakfast at the hotel one day, but it was cake heavy, white bread only and also included cold pizza slices. We were hoping for a croissant, but the croissants had been fully consumed by a group before we showed up. No warm dishes prepared, but eggs and bacon were available upon request. An item to be aware of in the rooms is that the WC flushing pressure is rather low. The interior is dated, but cozy.

Staff was excellent and SUPER helpful. The staff knew exactly where to park our car for free and answered all of our questions. The breakfast was also delicious and I had the best croissant there since getting to France! Location is wonderful and we easily walked everywhere! Loved our stay!!!

The pullout bed was a bit uncomfortable and the upper bunk bed in room 1 sunk a bit in the middle (the mattress, not the bed frame). The other beds were comfortable!

The owners and staff were very friendly and took great care of us. They have a very nice breakfast for a small extra charge. It has a good selection of buffet and cooked foods. The best thing is the location! It is halfway in between the D-Day Memorial Museum and the Tapestry museum for about a ten minute walk to each. Bayeux is also about 12 miles from the D-Day beaches and the American cemetery. There are plenty of shops and food nearby, too.

The location of this hotel is great and the team working there are really helpful and really pleasant. The breakfast was great and set us up for a day of sightseeing and our room was a good size, with all we needed for our stay. The on site parking was also really appreciated.

We did find that the bathroom door kept sliding open which we managed but is probably something that needs to be resolved.

Location was excellent. Arrived at end of high season, so parking available on the street for free. If no available street parking (which would have been likely during summer months), would have had to pay to park (12 Euro) in one of the limited number of stalls alongside the hotel or in a public parking lot down the road. Room very clean and quite spacious. Beds very comfortable. Reception staff helpful and friendly. Did not have the breakfast which was an optional charge.

This hotel is in the perfect location walking distance to the main streets . Check in girl was lovely and we parked out car out the back of the hotel for extra 15 euro. Room was quite large . Breakfast was so good even had hot options we dont see in French hotels.

We could hear the noise from other rooms and the beds were super hard. I like a hard bed but gosh these were super hard !

Le Hôtel Bayeux is located in an excellent historic small town. The Bayeux tapestry display is truly memorable. We stayed here to take a booked day tour to Mont Saint Michel which was a fantastic experience. The hotel was comfortable, clean, well presented with excellent service. You can walk to the train station in 10 minutes. We travelled here from Paris and then caught the train to Tours to visit the chateaux.

The family rooms in Hotel le Bayeux are spacious and fit our family of 4 (and stuff) well. The skylights in the bathrooms added light and a nice sound effect when it rained. The staff was very helpful to us. They spoke English but were patient with my rusty French. :-)

The breakfast was very tasty but a bit pricey... I remember the days when you could pay 2 euros for a coffee and simple bread, which is all I wanted.
