Corinthia Palace Malta

This is THE hotel to stay at while visiting Malta. Royal feeling.Amazing Michelin restaurant, memorable experience. Great breakfast. Classic rooms. The pool is outstanding, the best in Malta. The spa is beautiful. I live the story of the family that owns the hotel. The negative reviews are come from non connoisseurs.

Amazing service, fault good size room with balcony. Room made up while at breakfast and turned down while at dinner. Breakfast really good. The spa is fabulous as its the gym. The outdoor pool is beautiful. .... It is an amazing hotel.

The location is a little tricky for visiting the whole island. There are bus stops on your door step and the hotel provides a daily shuttle 10am (to) and 4pm (back) from Valletta. Bolt on the island as well. But it will take you a bit of time to get to some places without a hire car or using Bolt. Small price to pay for a fabulous hotel.

The room was very comfortable and quiet, we slept very well during our stay. Breakfast was taken outside next to the pool and was excellent. There was a very good selection which was freshly prepared and served to the table. We had meals at two of the restaurants, The Rickshaw and the Summer Kitchen, both were very good. We also enjoyed having cocktails in the bar before dinner. The location was ideal for us and getting around Malta using Bolt worked very well.

The gym is not run or owned by the hotel, which is not made clear. The staff there operate at a different level from the hotel itself.

Although someone had told us that the hotel was a little dated, which it was externally, we were pleasantly surprised when we entered the reception. It appeared to have been renovated, which was a great start, and our room was just as good, clean and spacious. However, what we liked most about the hotel were the facilities, especially the indoor pool and vitality suite, which had a steam room and sauna. The staff also made us feel very welcome and were also very helpful. Initially, we were a bit concerned about the location, but we found it quite easy to take a local bus to Valletta and Mdina.

We only had two meals in the hotel, in the Bahia and the Rickshaw restaurants. The Bahia was excellent, even though very expensive. The Rickshaw was disappointing as we had been looking forward to a good Chinese meal. The food was ok, but we felt it was a bit over-priced.

Breakfast was excellent if ordered from the menu....english breakfast items from.the buffet were not great. Rooms were clean, if not a little dated. hotel lobby, bar and pool area was lovely. Big car park across.the street was very handy.

Not much locally to have a drink or something to eat. I did ask for twin beds but we were given a double...but this wasnt too much of an issue. Level of Service wasnt consistent throughout our stay. Wanted to book a pool day for a guest, and was told to go find the janitor to see if he had spare sunbeds. For me to pay 65 euros for someone to sit beside a pool for the day, I would expect the staff to be able to make the phone call for me to see if it was possible. Not for me to go searching the pool area for a guy called Keith We had no items in our minibar.

Corinthia was simply spectacular. When you search for the few 5 star hotels on the island, yes there are options that are close/in the historic center or by the sea but we stopped by those hotels later on for drinks and food and they are nowhere close to Corinthia when it comes to charm and the pool area all by itself is a reason to stay here. The building is a marvelous old palace and every detail is aesthetically thought. The fruit options could have had more variety but that is all I can really think of. The dinner experience at Bahia was interesting, perhaps would have preferred to be served the silverware instead of grabbing them myself every time from the secret drawer under the table. Try the fabulous cocktail they have with the local prickly pear liquor. It was our favorite. The floral arrangements all around the hotel are a huge success. Also the coffee machine should be provided in each room without having to ask for it. Overall fantastic stay though. The other 5 star hotels can be never but their outdoor pools are much smaller and the charisma of Corinthia wins over with fabulous gardens, pool etc. Highly recommended.

We totally enjoyed our 5-night stay at Corinthia Palace hotel. Well maintained premises. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Checkin/out was a breeze. Room service visits twice a day so our room was always clean and tidy. Really enjoyed the pool and hot tub although hot tub can get quite busy so make sure you get there at quiet hours.

The only thing I did not appreciate was the fact that we found out that children are allowed in the pool only between 10-12 am just when we arrived at the pool. This is not mentioned in the website and neither the reception warned us about it, instead just vaguely prompted us to check about children rules with the pool. Given that this is advertised as a family oriented hotel this was a bit of a let down so families with children, beware.

The hotel is a beautiful addition to an old villa with marble floors throughout. The staff could not be nicer and more helpful. The location was perfect for us as we were there for a wedding at a location that was a 10-minute walk away. Breakfast was served outside in their poolside restaurant. There was no 'a la carte' menu, but more of a set menu with fairly limited choices, especially if you're vegetarian, but the quality was excellent.

The room was smaller than I had expected and looked very tired, like it needed an update. In fact, I believe that the hotel is planning some renovation work at the end of the year. Also the bathroom seemed very small and cramped with a shower that lacked any power and went from hot to cold to hot again, regardless of the temperature control setting.

This hotel is probably the best place on Malta, definitely if you want a 5* experience. The staff were incredible- i’ve worked at a high end hotel before so i have an insider’s eye. Everyone was sooo friendly and helpful, always with a smile and doing great job! Location is great, easy to get to any point by uber (9€ to get to Mdina) we went to Marsaxlok for 14€ The gardens and the grounds of the hotel are beautiful and well maintained. Spa was great, cocktails were good, there’s live music in the lounge. Nice extras as well. Very pleasant experience- we stayed four nights The hotel houses a Michelin star restaurant BAHIA and a few other restaurants so no problem with getting food Highly recommended!

When arrived to the hotel my first impression was that it looked a little expired from the outside. But how could I mistake and judge on that. Also from the outside the object radiate from eternity and easy to imagine yourself in the sixties. Inside you feel the rich history and high standard of the hotel and and is everything neatly arranged. The spacious timeless rooms are well maintained, clean and nothing is missing. Also fortunately small bottles with soap and shampoo instead of those large containers mounted on the wall. Very very nice restaurant room (for breakfast, etc) where is also nothing missing at the breakfast. And also very important, tasteful bread and other dishes. Furthermore, the hotel has a very nice spa located in the beautiful garden of the hotel. And for the vegans, one of the bars in the hotel serves plant-based food only. This 5 star hotel fully deserves all its stars.

2 small things.. First one is that in the hotel room close to the door in the ceiling there is burning some irritating green light (I think it's some kind of control check lamp(?)). In the night it's gives so much light that the room isn't totaaly dark. It's good that I had some plasters with me so that I could cover it. The second point is the not strong enough water jet from the shower. And additional the not stable water temprature from the shower faucet (all the time I had to adjust it).
