Ivy Hotel - Adults Only

Room was large in comparison to many hotels. Bathroom is large, with a good shower. Although the balcony looks over roof tops, it is a good size and an excellent facility. Hotel is a hidden gem, up a side street, but still handy for buses. 2 minutes walk to the stop to take you into Valetta. Less than 1 minute's walk there is a bus taking 1 hour to the ferry to Gozo. Breakfast has an excellent choice of hot and cold. Highly recommend this hotel.

The toilet seat was loose but useable. The plug in the basin didn't operate properly. I reported it in our first day, but no repairs were done during our stay. This is a minor issue, but I offer this as a constructive comment.

The location was perfect for me. I was in Malta to have some meetings at the University of Malta. I was easily able to reach the campus as well as the popular places such as Sliema, Valletta, Mdina and the airport of course. I could find many different options for food around and a supermarket, which were important for me. Also, the staff was very helpful. I arrived at the hotel very early and they helped me check in before the normal check in time.

Some of the things could have been more practical. For instance, in the shower there was not a shelf to put your stuff. Also, you may want to bring your own shampoo, conditioner, shower gel etc. since the one at the hotel was a liquid for both body and hair. I am not sure if it is a good one. And you should bring your slippers if you want to be more comfortable at the room.

We arrived to the hotel early in the morning just to drop our luggages but much to our surprise, the hotel let us check-in to one of the booked rooms, that was more than appreciated :) Perfect staff! Hotel is brand new, the rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean, well-equipped. There is a kettle to make tea&coffee. Excellent breakfast, wide range of foods, good coffee + the lady working at the breakfast room is very kind and helpful. Good location, bus stop are very close (Ross station at the corner, San Giljan a few minutes walk) so it's convenient to catch buses to everywhere, incl. airport. We really enjoyed our stay, we would book the same hotel again!

The location of the hotel is ideal since the nearest bus stop is located at the end of the street. The room was nice and cozy, it is more than enough for two person even for a longer stay. The hotel staff was nice and helpful in all cases.

The biggest concern was the continuous noise - this hotel is located in a district where a new part of the city is being built, right next to and opposite the hotel. This means that earliers at 7:00 AM in the morning they start to work. Moreover there are a couple of bars and small restaurants nearby which cause additional noise in the evening too. But this is not the hotel's fault and hopefully within 1-1,5 months the situation will be better there. The other issue is more technical, the air condition is pretty useless in the room since this is located in front of the bed and the angle of the fan cannot be changed, so during the night with 25-27 °C outside the only way to sleep is to keep the balcon door open - having the pretty noisy neighbours outside.

rooms are confortable, very clean, facilities in the room: a coffee /tea stand in the room, air conditioning, a fridge, staff very friendly and helpful, a location close to everything in the centre, yet relatively quiet, delicious breakfast, hotel is small but very pleasant and new

could be hair dryer in the bathroom, a Wi-Fi connection could be better ( it required re-typing the password every time the phone/lap went into standby mode, which was a bit of the nuisance, a hot breakfast options would be nice

The hotel is new, the price seemed fair. The location worked for me - in the centre of St. Julian's, with good access to public transport. Breakfast was good. Staff were nice.

The hotel is nice but a bit soulless. Small balcony faced the well at the back (1st floor), so I didn't get too much light - maybe it is better on higher floors. I had very noisy neighbours who sat outside until late and were very loud. One morning I found broken glass on my balcony - I reported this to the reception and it was quiet ever since (either they told the troublesome guests off or the guests just left). My bathroom was huge, almost as big as the room (I had a room for the disabled, probably that's why), but there was nothing to put your toiletries on, no cabinet, no shelf, only window sills.

Everything except for the view from the balcony. But that's anything but the hotel's fault. Don't worry the view is going to be like that from every hotel soon!

As stated above. Just the view from the balcony was not great. Otherwise everything was practically perfect. From the location to the price. The room was lovely and the facilities and the staff. It was very enjoyable!!!!

Very good value for money. AC in the rooms functional TV and good amount of space.very friendly staff

The plug to make coffe was two plug so it didn't fit in the normal socket so we couldn't use it

I liked the fact that they didn’t have a curfew or strict restrictions. The staff was kind and polite. The bathroom was clean and the room was cool.

The breakfast didn’t have as many options as I hoped. The room looked smaller in real life. And the room lightning is awful for taking pictures. The WiFi always gets disconnected and you have to re-enter the password. The WiFi network for the TV disconnected after the 2nd day so we couldn’t use the YouTube/Netflix.
