Holiday Inn Express - Malta, an IHG Hotel

I've stayed in this hotel several times and it's always been a good experience staff and facilities-wise.

It being full post-COVID tourist season the noise was loud and kept up till well past 0100 in the morning. There was also fighting in the street. It was perhaps more so since my room was on the side where popular bars are. Maybe the hotel Intercontinental side may have been quieter.

We loved both pools. Such a great option to use pools in the sister hotel and we even did not feel that we are moving between two hotels - that was super easy. Nice comfortable rooms, air condition worked like a charm. Loved the breakfast as well- many different options. Our kids loved pancake machine. Location very close to party and club area, but we did not hear that in the rooms- so perfect location. Close to all the nightlife, but still can rest. Beach also very close, just 3 minutes away. Very friendly staff. I would stay again.

the breakfast was a little bit boring at the end of our stay, but for a short trip it is perfect. We would prefer more fresh vegetables and salty options for breakfast. Also, it is a little bit noisy out there but the windows are sound-proofed, you can get used to the little nice coming from the streets but I guess we very lucky to have a room for the back view. They can provide you earplugs which is nice :)

We were at this hotel for the second time and stayed for seven nights in June this year. The hotel staff was very polite and friendly. Bogdan, who works at the reception, suggested us good restaurants and interesting places to visit on the island. Breakfast was great with plenty of choices. Waiters Mario and Savicur who are Maltese welcomed us with friendly smile at breakfast terrace every morning. They helped us with suggestions regarding the choice of interesting beaches and bus lines to use to reach them as well as with information about Malta in general. Our room was always clean, bed large and very comfortable. Overall the experience from Holiday Inn was great.

A small refrigerator in the room would be very helpful.

Our room was at the back, it was quiet, no noise from the street, especially at the weekend. The breakfasts were tasty. Everything was fresh, especially the bread and cookies which were baked on the spot. Great selection of fresh fruit. There were no waiting lines for food, and the tables were cleaned on a regular basis. Breakfast with a beautiful view of the bay. The service people has always been very attentive. During breakfast, we often asked for suggestions on where to go, what to see and how to get there? The service was professional as they were the tour guides. This also applies to reception staff. We stayed nine days in total. We met a lot of people, so it's hard to mention everyone by name, but I want to especially thank Saiviour, Mario, Daniuska, Soni. They always greeted us with a nice sincere smile, making a great atmosphere from the morning compared to the artificial forced smiles that we often encounter. In addition, after sightseeing and sunbathing, we used both indoor and outdoor pools. We had no problems as some suggest in the comments. We had two cards "keys" for the room and another. You just have to know when to use which. You could always find a place to sunbathe, and the view of the bay was beautiful as from the place where we ate breakfast. The pool area was kept clean. There were also no spilled drinks, which often happens in all inclusive resorts. In part, this is also due to the more responsible guests, who sometimes criticize others and are unreasonable themselves. Of course, there will always be people who criticize everything, but they should start with themselves and improve their own behavior.

I think that the canteen should have shelves like I've seen in Spain, Portugal and other places where guests could take their trays after breakfast. The canteen is not a five-star restaurant where waiters clean everything up. This would facilitate the work of the hotel staff, reduce costs, when returning the trays is not a problem. Hotel guests could help to keep the hotel and the island clean. Visiting Malta, I saw a lot of garbage on the trails. I am convinced that it is the fault of irresponsible tourists and not the local people. Returning trays of dirty dishes could be a good introduction to learning responsibility for order not only in the canteen, but everywhere, even in private life.

I knew the area of the hotel from earlier stays, I almost got what I expected... except the construction noise was a bit more disturbing with open doors and windows. However, the location is ideal for a busy holiday schedule. We were able to swim in the sea, despite end of September, which was just a couple of minutes easy walk away. We loved the gym and indoor pool with the sauna, it was open until late hours which was a nice touch and gave the opportunity of a relaxing - refreshing end of the day program. The staff were super nice and made our stay a memorable one.

All the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Helped with getting us a taxi to the airport at a reasonable fare. Breakfast was located at the roof top of the hotel which had an amazing view of the city although there was the ongoing building construction but did not disturb the view. Location of the hotel in St Julian close to shops, restaurants and bus stops which was excellent for ease of commute. Also, liked the balcony view from our room. Access to Inter continental hotel facilities was a big plus!! Night life for the younger generation!

The tinned fruit selection was the same every day. Other variety on different days would have been nice.

Very friendly staff. Good location. Nice cosy room, very clean. Excellent AC, very good free wifi. Lot of nice restaurants, clubs, shops nearby. Very nice swimming pool on the rooftop, well organized, nice bar.

Limited options for breakfast, good for short 2-3 days stay. Lack of security staff overnight. A lot of people make afterparty, coming from neighbouring clubs. Drunk youngsters making noise in corridors mostly between 3 and 5am

The rooftop pool and the pool bar restaurant, located in the sister hotel Intercontinental, was superb. All of the staff at both hotels were amazing and really helpful. There were lots of shops, bars, restaurants, cafes surrounding the hotel as well as a cinema next door. I would recommend taking the hop on bus tour around the island and the day boat trip to the blue lagoon (with Supreme Tours who sell excursions by the small beach). We did a power boat ride to the caves and it was so much fun.

I did pay extra and book a larger room as there were three adults however, the room was tiny. There was no fridge however, reception provided ice buckets when requested.

The hotel itself and the rooms are very nice and clean. The staff is excellent. Keep in mind that they don't have minifridge in the room and also they don't have their own swimming pool, they only provide access to the one of the Intercontinental's.

The hotel is exactly in the middle of the area with bars and clubs and the music is extremely loud all night long. It is well isolated, but still you can hear the music. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs, they are a must. Also, there are a lot of constructions going nearby the hotel and they start around 7, maxim 07:30 in the morning. This is not the hotel's fault, of course, but it is better to take all this into consideration.
