Hestia Hotel Ilmarine

I never had stayed before in Ilmarine though I have tested almost all Tallinn hotels during my frequent business trips to Tallinn. Probably the bit gloomy appearance of the building had scared me. This time the room price at booking.com was attractive and got me to read the customer reviews. They were surprisingly positive and so I made the booking . My experience was also quite positive. There is nothing special when comparing to general Tallinn level but Ilmarine offers spacious rooms, good bed and a decent breakfast at a very reasonable price. There is also very affordable parking available in the hotel inner yard. I surely will come again considering the quality to price ratio.

Though I knew well Tallinn and the hotel location, it was difficult to find the entrance to parking place at inner yard. Due to narrow streets, road works and snow storm it was quite a challenge to get back there when missing the entrance at my first try. Finally I found the entrance at the street Kalasadama. The snow removal at the property could be better organized.

The breakfast was very good and had a lot of variety. The rooms were big and spacious but a bit outdated. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom was also big and a bit outdated, but everything worked and was clean. The room also had refrigerator. The view from the room is also very nice, you can see the sea and the harbour. The location is just a few minutes away from the entrance to the old town and near shops and ferry terminal. The lobby looks amazing since it used to be an old factory. The reception works 24/7.

The whole hotel is a bit old. Some of the tiles in the lobby were broken so you had to watch your step. Also the coffee at breakfast was not good.

Good hotel in the middle of Tallinn. Room was big enough, but not very quiet (next time chose the room not from the street). Parking for the cars at reasonable price 10 Euro/day (remember to book it earlier). Friedly staff. Good but not perfect breakfast. Beds were not very comfortable. Bathroom - perfect. Late check-in - possible.

It was not very quiet in the room in the middle of the night (street nearby). Beds could be more comfortable. Breakfast could be a little bit more tasty. But overall - good, real hotel for reasonable price in Tallinn.

Really nice hotel not far from port but in a silent area. Wifi worked good. Breakfast was good with wide choice of hot food and tasty coffee. By request I got a silent room, very cozy one. Also iron was provided by my request. Nice staff. Price vs comfort corresponds. Good softness of the bed. Nice place to stay in Tallinn, I think I will return here.

Bed clothes was super clean all fine, but had some spots on it, that caught my eye and was a bit unpleasant. Pity that restaurant only worked for breakfast but not for dinner, but there are several restaurants in near by area.

It is an excellent hotel for the value. The rooms are spacious, which I like very much (19-20 meter squared). The matrices are new and very comfortable. The bed is a king sized bed. In general the room furniture is not the most modern one, but it is well maintained. Other parts of the hotel are furnished in industrial style. I selected this hotel because of the size of the rooms and the breakfast. Both met my expectations. I loved the variety of the breakfast choices and the fact that is had a variety of Estonian food. The breakfast is also good for the traditional traveler, who would prefer the traditional breakfast as ham and eggs, sausages and etc.

Everything was good. I would however recommend the hotel to work on the development of some standard set of few breakfast pre-packaged choices for guests who leave in the morning before the breakfast begins. It would be much appreciated.

The place is very quiet and comfortable. We could have a good rest every day. Breakfast is really good with friendly staff. The location is amazing, within walking distance from the Port, the Old town, and the main shopping malls but if you want to take a taxi or public transportation is also easy. Just a tip: If you want to use Bolt (for Taxi) use the Hotel address instead of the Hotel name because the name is showing in the wrong location.

Cleanness, they did not change the bad sheet even when it is dirty (I hurt my finger and some blood spilled on it, they just kept the same bed sheet on the other side) and they were not replacing the bottle of water, I had to ask for it at the reception every day.

Beds were really comfortable, air quality was good. You can open a window. Room was well sized and a lot of cabinets etc. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choices and really delicious. Complimentary bottle of water was good after a tiring journey, although it wasn't in the mini fridge. Location is great in a way that it's close to everything and makes it easy to explore. Complimentary tea and coffee selection was okay, a skim though. Blackout curtains work fine. Room was quiet, you can't hear the sounds of the road. 24/7 gym for guests.

Breakfast room wasn't cozy, especially compared to the other parts of the hotel. Located on a busy road with narrow sidewalks, and you have to use a road meant for cars to arrive by foot. Walk is quite steep and slippery during winter. Not that easy to find since we were looking for a pedestrian road.

Simple, but nice hotel. Great location, just a few minutes from the Old Town and close to the port. Easy and fast check-in. Girls at the reception desk speak fluently in English. We had a Deluxe room on a side of inner street, therfore it was quite, without any street noise. Room was spacious, with a writing desk, TV, sofa, wardrobe, mini-bar. consisted of two single beds pushed together but had a double size mattress so it felt like a double bed and was very comfortable. Room had a bathroom (with a bath) and heated floor. Shampoo and shower gel available. Breakfast was very good and tasty. Wide range of hot and cold food, hot drinks and juices. Everyone will find something for their taste buds. Hotel also has a car parking, but it was full.

There was no bar and/or restaurant in the hotel, so you had to go somewhere outside in the city for drinks and dinner. The sink counter in the bathroom could have been cleaner - there were some water and glass stains. Some of the tables at breakfast were unstable.

A very nicely converted former historic industrial structure, there are excellent photos of what the place looked like in the decades before its conversion to a very cosy quality hotel. Located close to tram stops and the harbour the hotel was an easy walk from the old town too. Nice and quiet. A good big room with comfortable bed and storage area. Handy fridge. Very welcome in room drink making facilities. Very nice bathroom with a bath. A good buffet breakfast with good choice for vegans. Good Wi-Fi.

Everything was fine, no complaints!

The room was clean and roomy. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast selection was phenomenal, with an excellent selection of hot and cold dishes, including some local options. I liked the location, only a short stroll away from the city centre. There were also good public transit connections. All the staff I interacted with were friendly, spoke good english and seemded happy to help.

The rooms on the ground floor face directly into a public path, so there is a lack of privacy, however,the area is relativelt quiet, so it wasn't overly bothersome. The window also didn't open all the way, so natural ventilation was a bit harder.
