Hestia Hotel Barons Old Town

The hotel is in a great location close to the edge of Old Town. There is good access from the nearby main roads (we caught the tram in from the airport and walked a few minutes to the hotel). You're then also very close to the heart of Old Town so there is easy walking access to all the main places to see. The location is the main advantage. We stayed in the newer part of the hotel, which is literally across the street from the main hotel. It was a clean and tidy room, modern bathroom and top floor views.

Just be aware that this hotel is close to some bars and restaurants.....and depending which side of the hotel you are on, you may become aware of this at 3-4am. We stayed in Tallinn at end-Feb and despite the very low overnight temps, there were occasional noises outside at that time. The only other slight negative is that the breakfast area is a little limited in capacity, so get there early if you want to be sure of a table but the breakfast was fine and good enough to get you moving for the day.

We arrived early before check-in time The super nice receptionist got us other free room so we could move in immediately. All the staff was very nice, hotel has its historical vibe and the location is perfect. We were also leaving early in the morning and got a breakfast box for take away. Room was nice and equiped, we missed nothing. Perfect room for a couple.

The breakfast at restaurant could be better. There was not much vegetables, out of mustard and nobody refilled. The pancakes were dry like yesterdays'. I could imagine having better breakfast outside in some bistro for a good price as well.

This is my second stay with the hotel and I really love the location, it's right in the old town, making a lot of sights easily accessible on foot. Breakfast was also great, most variety I've seen in a European hotel so far. The staff are friendly and fluent in English.

Before both stays, they send you a link where you can book an additional service, like early check in, which would be super useful for me, but both time I just got the reply that they can't guarantee it. Why even offer a service that you can't provide? Also, the elevator in the other building is super tiny, one person with luggage can barely fit in. All the manual doors are heavy and you need to put some good weight into opening them, which was really hard to with luggage. I'm a healthy, able-bodied person and it was incovenient, I can't imagine how someone who's not would stay there.

The hotel is located in the Old Town of Tallinn and fully earns its four stars. A very spacious room with a comfortable bed. An extremely quite place, no noise at all by nights, we slept like children. Lovely breakfasts, the personnel very friendly and helpful. We liked very much the location, all the main museums and city sights are nearby. We liked also the experience in Labor bar located next door to the hotel. For me, being a chemist, it was extremely pleasing to visit it. On the last day we had to leave early and missed the breakfast, so they prepared a mealbox for us by our request and helped with calling a taxi.

An elevator cabin was a little bit too small. May cause discomfort for claustrophobic people. Fortunately, we do not suffer from it, but it's worth to take into account if you choose this place for stay.

Love the location, in the middle of Old Town Tallinn and didn’t have to walk more than 10mins to get to anywhere. Super convenient for a tourist looking to explore for a weekend. Staff at reception were super nice and responsive.

Personally found the bed too hard. The air conditioning didn’t work 90% of the time we were there, every time we complained to reception unfortunately it was explained to us it was a hotel wide technical issue. Room was very stuffy because of this, didn’t want to leave window open overnight as hotel is next to a pub so very noisy. Also, found a lipstick mark on edge of glass cup when checking in so looks like cleaners missed a spot.

The breakfast was OK. The location of the hotel is perfect if you want to live close to the town hall square. We could see the Olde Hansa Restaurant from our hotel room. No noise from the streets and the rooms are really soundproof from "outside noise". The historical part of the hotel is really nice. The old elevator is fun to ride. The air-condition in the room did its job when it was hot.

The mattresses in the bed was really hard. The pillows were not good either. Did not sleep well because of this. Had expected a better bed. The staff should smile more, but I guess that is part of the east European culture.

This hotel is in a perfect location in Tallinn in the heart of the old town. We stayed in the historical main building with the most dreamy views. The daily breakfast is really excellent and plenty on offer for me as a vegetarian but also for my husband who is a meat eater. Bath robes and slippers are provided and the shower room was nice and modern with a powerful shower. We asked for a kettle in our room which was readily provided but is not standard. There is a pleasant lounge and bar area if you want to relax. Staff are pleasant and helpful.

The beds are new but were a bit hard for us. We asked for another mattress topper but there were none available.

Location is excellent. Family room is big and clean. Beds were comfortable. Reception staff very friendly.

As the location is so central and there are bars right outside so our room facing the street was really noisy at night, because of some drunks keeping noise. Not hotels fault of course. Just bad luck for us. Breakfast room is quite small and crowded and the staff couldn't keep up with refilling everything. The family rooms are in a separate building, but it is right next to the main hotel so it's not a problem as you only need to go there for breakfast.

Our experience at this hotel was truly exceptional and memorable. The staff's warm hospitality made us feel welcomed and valued throughout our stay. The beautiful amenities and attention to detail surpassed our expectations, making it a truly unforgettable experience.

Despite the entrance gate and elevator being small and somewhat challenging, especially with a baby stroller, the hotel staff went above and beyond to assist us every step of the way, making the process much smoother and more convenient. Their continuous help and support made our stay even more enjoyable and comfortable.

The location is perfect. The hotel is charming with nice woodwork, a curving staircase, and an old cage-style elevator. It shows its age -- but in a good way.

1) The breakfast room is very charming, but the breakfast could be better. 2) The hotel has an annex across the street and around a corner. We stopped there thinking it was the main hotel but could not get in. We then figured out where the main entrance was and went in. We talked to another guest who had the same experience. The hotel should put a sign on the annex directing new guests to the main entrance.
