Hyatt Place Columbus/OSU

I must say, the ample parking, indoor pool, and in-house bar really made my stay at the hotel enjoyable. It's always nice when a hotel offers such great amenities. I was able to relax and have a good time without having to worry about parking or finding a place to go for a drink. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay.

During my recent stay at the hotel, I faced a minor inconvenience that made my stay a bit difficult. Unfortunately, there was no microwave in my room, which made it quite inconvenient to go back and forth to heat something up. This was particularly challenging as I was traveling with young children. The only microwave available was in the breakfast area, which meant that if 3-4 guests wanted to heat something up at the same time, we had to wait in a line to use it. It was a bit frustrating, and I couldn't help but think that the hotel was trying to save money by not adding microwaves in the rooms. Nonetheless, the rest of my stay was pleasant, and the staff was helpful and accommodating.

My dog had an appointment with a specialist at OSU and it was a great, pet friendly location, close to the clinic. Staff was very friendly, room was cozy, bed was soooo comfortable,breakfast was fresh with lots of options, and pool and workout facility was nice!

Although my room looked clean and was cozy, there was a faint smell of dog pee. Sadly, I know when pets are allowed, accidents can happen (although my dog would rather pop than have an accident inside), but with a $75.00 pet fee, I would expect no lingering smells. It wouldn’t keep me from staying again, though, because the good far outweighed the bad!

Room was clean and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Enjoyed the partition that separated the pull-out couch and beds. It offered privacy for the people sleeping on the couch. Bathroom door was a tad squeaky but nothing that impacted our stay too much. Hotel was close to many food establishments. We brough our dog and the process of having a pet was very easy and easy access to take the dog outside, plenty of grassy areas to relieve itself.

Breakfast was not the best I have had but, was sufficient for a light meal in the morning. The bagels were a bit stale tasting and many of the hot options were not something I can eat (to no fault of the hotel) but that leaves me with things like bagels and they just were "ok". I liked that the fruit was pre-wrapped for cleanliness.

The staff, the property itself (the sunlight filters in throughout the lobby, and it’s gorgeous! It has this simultaneously homey and luxurious feel to it, which is just to die for!) The food was also great, my room was clean, and the air conditioner in my room worked perfectly! My room’s coffee-and-tea maker was also very useful (I definitely needed the tea after a headache I got on my first day)!

The sink. I tried to lift up the clog to empty out the water I used, but it wouldn’t budge. So, the water basically just sat there for the whole day. (I should’ve notified the staff about that, so that’s on me. Everythinf else was absolutely awesome, though.)

There was a mix up with our room, as we reserved on Booking. However, the hotel very quickly corrected the issue and we were in our room in less than 15 minutes. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The entire hotel and property were clean and comfortable, as well.

Breakfast was a bit of a cluster as the kitchen couldn't keep up with the food. However, in their defense, there were several cheer teams and softball teams in the hotel getting ready for the day. So, it wasn't so much the hotel's fault, just a very high demand in the morning.

The furniture and well stocked amenities were enhanced by the overall cleanliness. Although everything wasn't made from expensive materials, the "like new" status was perhaps the main appeal. The gym and pool were nice additions as well.

Some of the basic function amenities were perhaps too low quality. The micro soap bar, scratchy pillow case, and starchy towels seemed designed to barely perform their function so the occupant isn't swayed to take them home or something. Sure the room felt like there was abundance, it was just most objects seemed to be the cheapest possible form.

Breakfast options were good - sausage links, eggs, french toast sticks, turkey sausage, plus fruit, yogurt and toast/bagels. There were lots of options and we liked having hot food, not just cereal and yogurt like others hotels.

I understand it's a personal preference and hotels can't cater to everyone - the only thing I would change is the mattress and pillow options. Unfortunately I didn't sleep well because the bed and pillows felt lumpy. The room was clean and the staff were very friendly. My family got lucky and was able to enjoy the heated pool to ourselves.

there was water leaking from the a/c unit and the carpet was extremely wet all around the unit. we received a scam call to the room phone around 8am - someone posing as front desk said that there was a problem with transferring my information when I checked in and they were trying to get me to confirm my credit card information that I used to check in. I was awake enough to recognize the possibility of a scam and told them that I would confirm it at the front desk not over the phone, to which they tried to push me to just do it over the phone multiple times. when I went to the front desk they said that the call did not come from them and it was definitely a scam call.

We stay here every Christmas, and love the large King rooms. Breakfast included was great, and the hot breakfast sandwiches individually wrapped were a great Covid safe warm breakfast option. The beds are soooo comfortable, you will sleep so well. Easy, convenient parking, and the whole hotel feels very safe. Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. This hotel has become our home base when visiting Columbus.

Though I loved the cut fresh fruit option at breakfast, I saw a child put their whole hand in it to grab fruit pieces, put them in her mouth, then back in the fruit bowl, which is not only unhygienic but also dangerous during Covid times. Maybe offer individually packaged cut fruit? The walls between adjoining rooms are not very soundproof, which was made obvious due to our next-door neighbor's constantly screaming little girl (not the hotel's fault, they offered to move us). I always ask for a non-end unit room, which I put in the notes, but they originally put me in an end unit room, until I pointed out the notes in the reservation. Please read the notes in the reservations, it makes customers feel heard and valued.

Great location and that we had a suite.

Staff was not friendly at all. That was a surprise to me. It was as if everyone staying there was invisible. I didn’t like that they didn’t clean the rooms daily. They didn’t even leave us clean towels and washcloths. We had to go down and ask for them. We were there for three nights so that was peculiar to me. The exhaust fan in the bathroom does not work and there’s mold around the soap dish in the tub. There was a huge spiderweb by the table that we ate breakfast at this morning.
