2026 Boston Concerts

By far the largest city and metro area in New England, Boston offers so many things to see and do that staying several nights is a necessity. Home to some of the greatest historical sites in the U.S. dating back 150 years before American independence was declared in 1776, there’s little dispute that the Boston area is well worth exploring simply to learn about the early years of the country.

There’s so much here that shouldn’t be missed from world-class museums to incredible dining experiences, as well as some of the most exciting sporting events which include Boston Red Sox major league baseball, Boston Celtics NBA basketball, Boston Bruins NHL hockey, New England Patriots NFL football, and Major League Soccer’s New England Revolution who play at Gillette Stadium, the Patriots home field, in Foxborough, Mass.

Often overlooked are the extensive offerings featuring live performances. There are music venues throughout the area, with the most popular being centrally located in Boston proper. With the exception of concerts that take place at Gillette Stadium, which is a good 45 minute drive from downtown Boston, music and theater fans will find an amazing range of shows to consider attending.

(Additional shows are announced regularly and will be added to the list throughout the year.)

Boston. Come for the music. Stay for the weekend.

Check out the outstanding list below of upcoming performances that we think are worth planning a trip to attend a concert or stage show. Symphony Hall

Opened on October 15, 1900, Symphony Hall was the first performance auditorium that was designed in strict accordance with scientific sound principles known at that time. The architects even hired a physics professor from Harvard to ensure adherence to the acoustical requirements. The Aeolian Skinner organ was installed in 1949 and is to this day considered one of the best performance hall organs in the world. Symphony Hall seats 2,650 guests.

Other names over the years have been the Empire, Loew’s (who then changed it to the Orpheum), and the Aquarius, with the 1974 changeover to the Orpheum for a second time now having stuck for more than half a century.
