Dream Inn Santa Cruz

10 out 10. Wonderful customer service. A magical view of the ocean that will make you fall in love with Santa Cruz all over again. That being said I'm a local and come to the beach constantly but waking up and falling asleep to the sound and view of the ocean is enchanting. The rooms are beautiful, cleaned and stocked. Balcony with a view and a table with chairs. This is the second time I stay here with my family and we all loved it and had a wonderful time. The pool and hot tub are really nice as well. We would soak in the the hot tub then go downstairs and run into the cold ocean. By far one the best hotels I have been to on a global scale.

Nothing I didn't like. The only thing I can say for sure after trying the hotel restaurant 3 times, in two stays at this hotel, is to stay way. The food is bad and overpriced. I would order something from somewhere else or walk to the wharf. There are a bunch of weird charges when you order food to your room as well. I'm not picky but couldn't finish my dinner, lacked flavor. Better to grab food somewhere else.

The location was excellent we didn't eat anything at the restaurant, but it's very clean and very nice.

The only problem I have, is the pool closed at 9:00 p.m. when you're on vacation in the summertime with children, 9:00 is a little bit early. 9:00 is what time they go to bed during the school year, not when they're on vacation in the summer. They have beach access from the pool area, but when they close the pool area at 9:00, so does the gate at the stairs to the pool and the beach. It would be nice if they had maybe a door that use the hotel key or access, so you could go down to the beach at night to explore, without having to walk all the way down and around the hotel to the beach, and then all the way back around the hotel to get back.

The view was amazing and the location was so close we didn't have to drive for 2 days. The room was spacious and everything was perfect. We love the window seat and the open windows in the morning as we ate breakfast that was brought to our and drank coffee. They even held our luggage at the front desk and hung up our coats since we came in early. We would recommend it for anyone's first time. We will be back again.

The location was perfect and it was wonderful to keep the sliding door open to hear the waves while we slept. The restaurant food was yummy.

The beds could be more comfortable. The front desk lady who checked me in could have been more friendly. I have never stayed in your hotel before and wanted to know the difference with the different room available for future stays. She did not offer what I was asking and I felt she was trying to hurry the check in process. There was also no one behind me in line. The website was hard to navigate to determine what a deluxe room was in comparison to others. Price is not a problem when you are trying to find the best room to make the stay exactly what you want.

Excellent location if you have plans to be close to the beach and broad walk. Perfect room size and airy with small wet bar built in. Our room was upgraded to the top 10th floors, thanks to Omar (front desk). Staffs are super friendly and make you feel welcoming. The bed so soft, clean and you dreaming at night with hearing of the waves all night. We enjoyed sitting on patio watching people playing volleyball, swimming, kayaking, and walking with their dogs on the beach. We definitely going back to Dream Inn again in the future.

Two years ago My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon at the dream inn! We have made this a tradition. Now celebrating our 2 year anniversary it would have been nice to receive complementary champagne, a note, better view Especially when celebrating such a special milestone.

You can't beat the location, near the Santa Cruz Wharf and the Beach Boardwalk. The view was great, ocean, beach. All of it.

For the amount paid for two nights (over $700), you'd think parking would be included. Also, requested late check-out (the day before we left we requested) and we were denied. The morning we left we told the bellman and he laughed and said the hotel was only going to be half full that night. He said the front desk is nice sometimes, sometimes not.

we love the on the ocean feeling! It’s built like you are in a boat. Beachy vibe and close to the wharf which is nice to walk. Pool & gas fire pits are wonderful. Just a great setting! Staff is outstanding and very helpful & outgoing! they get a 10++. There were charges on our bill that were from previous guests- they apologized and reversed them right away. it was a glitch. I always try to book this in a flash sale😎

For $400 a night parking should be included, they have a big lot.

We booked two ocean view rooms for my daughter's 14th birthday celebration. Pool. Retro decor. Boardwalk proximity? What else could a teen want? Check in was a breeze with nice young bellhops ready to take our car and help with luggage. Friendly staff greeted us inside. The striped pool towels and yummy chicken tacos were an extra perk. The only unfriendly person on the whole site was the grumpy bartender. The taco chef himself was a delight! In fact, I gave him an extra tip. Kudos to Dream Inn for being exactly as advertised: Dreamy!

Grumpy bartender. But that's not his fault. I'd be grumpy if I had to pour beers for entitled tourists on a beautiful 80 degree day too.
