West Cliff Inn, A Four Sisters Inn

Excellent location: just feet from the beach, boardwalk, good restaurants, and the Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary Exploration Center. Bed was good, not too soft. Wine and cheese in the afternoons was a nice touch. Breakfast in the morning was a little carb-heavy, but good. I liked the grooming products and lotions in the room, they smelled great. Big shower. Free parking. Free Wi-Fi.

I stayed in the bungalow rather than the main house and it was teeny, tiny. Not even a closet. I had to ask for a folding chair so I had somewhere to sit other than the bed. The worst thing was there are no surfaces in the bathroom to put my lotions, creams, hairspray, cleansers, and so forth on, though there is plenty of room on both sides of the sink for something narrow. Please put a little table there! Thanks. :) Also there is a dead pixel in the TV screen, which is a small but annoying detail.

First of all, we were surprised with the Complimentary Cheese/Wine welcome (we arrived late) but we received a Pinot Noir for two! That was a Kind and Generous Gesture! We wish we would have stayed longer! This place is Beautiful, immaculate, comfortable and nicely Situated across from the Ocean. I really Enjoyed the View! I also loved the amenities such as the Robes, the Bottles of Cold Water, the KEURIG was Great and your full sizes of soap, shampoo and conditioner! I highly recommend staying at this Inn to anyone looking for Comfort, Cleanliness and a Complete & Delicious Breakfast! Thank you very much for your Hospitality. Everyone was Wonderful!!!

Issues with reservation. Had to call the property & booking.com to sort out. I think it was due to the staff not being familiar with how reservations through Booking.com worked. Booking.com charged my credit card for the full amount of the 2 night stay a few days before my arrival. The Inn also tried to charge my credit card and said that I had not paid for everything as required up front when in fact I had and Booking.com confirmed it.

The hotel has been recently renovated - every thing works and looks new. Our Room 8 was huge with a view of the beach and a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi and shower- perfect for soaking after hiking. We enjoyed the afternoon tea/wine/snacks and the lounge chairs on the common balcony on 2F.

The reception was a bit of a let down - and did not feel very hospitable. We were the only guests when we arrived earlier than check -in time (which is 4pm - quite late compared to most hotels/inns we have been to). Everyone had checked out already and there was one housekeeper cleaning the rooms - even at our suggestion, she made no effort to get housekeeper to work on our room so we could check in earlier, and insisted that check-in is still at 4pm. There was no luggage room so she allowed us to leave our luggage in our room. Eventually, the reception tried to text our international mobile (to no avail) to inform us that the room was ready - but by then we had already decided to come back at 4pm.

Beautiful location, clean mostly comfortable room, breakfast was great, staff was friendly and helpful, parking was convenient. The room with the hot tub was fantastic, great to view the stars at night; robes were a great touch.

I wish there had been an option for less puffy pillows. Also on the top floor the skylights in the room allowed in light from the hallways which I found distracting for sleeping. Finally, the room fridge was extremely loud.

The staff of the West Cliff Inn are outstanding. They texted the day of our arrival, we mentioned our flight was early, they did remind of the standard check in time but then texted again that our room was ready early! After check in they texted to make sure everything was great, and even offered local dining suggestions. The wine and cheese happy hour they put together was appreciated after a long day travelling. Great personal touch! The inn itself is a charming historic property. Location is fabulous, a quick walk to boardwalk and wharf. There is a small fireplace in the room that adds to the ambiance.

We stayed in room 4 on the second floor which faces the ocean. However the 2nd floor has a wrap around porch, other guests are sitting and enjoying the view right outside your window.

The room in this nicely decorated victorian house was very comfortable. Very comfy bed, luxurious bathroom and a great view of the sea. The good breakfast will have something for everyone and is a good start of the day. The hotel is very conveniently located to close to the pier and restaurants in walking distance. The complimentary Wine & Cheese as well as the home made cookies are not to be missed.

the place is truest beautiful with very friendly staff. the hot tub was nice and warm with robes provided. amazing bathroom and great bed.

My husband is vegan and there were no breakfast options for him - apart from fresh fruit. The kitchen staff were very friendly and suggested we should have let them know in advance, but as we were on a multiple stop trip didn’t think - and really for such an experience place, sort of expected something there he could have had.

Such a lovely home. The lady at the desk when we arrived was so very friendly and helped us get the fireplace in our room going. The wine and appetizer hour was very nice, and we enjoyed visiting with other guests.

The breakfast was very disappointing for the price paid to stay here. I had been looking forward to a lovely breakfast, but this was something you could find in a inexpensive Hotel Continental breakfast.

Fantastic breakfast. We enjoyed the afternoon "tea" as well. Very helpful staff. Beautiful room with a tile bathroom and a view of the Santa Cruz Wharf. Short walk to the Boardwalk and Lighthouse.

There was a "one-sided argument" that was going on in the room above us late in the evening. It lasted for about an hour. Wasn't sure what to do about it.
